Say hello to President Sanders.  Biden is effectively removing himself from serious consideration - alluding to the fact he may die in office - he's an old guy.

The news source has the video and the quote

Regarding the source:

THE ARTICLE:

I don't think Joe will be the nominee, but it sure would be entertaining to see this...

Joe Biden as President. Michelle Obama as Vice President. Barack Obama as Supreme Court justice. Adam Schiff as Attorney General.

Can you imagine how many R heads would implode?

Will it come down to a race between Sanders and Bloomberg - this article makes that case.

Bloomberg is doing better than I thought he would, but AFAIK he doesn't have enough support in any state to get even a single delegate. I believe the minimum is 15% to get any delegates.

Bernie taking heat today because Republicans are praying for him to be the nominee. People digging into the Mueller report bring up Russia disinformation was designed to also help Sanders and Sanders is soft on Russia. He also took a honeymoon to USSR in '88. People are using this information to say Bernie is the Russians Democratic choice and or Bernie is compromised by Russia as well.

Not sure I agree with these assertions. I think Russia was looking to divide the Dems in 2016 and now Republicans think running against a socialist will give them their best chance(as misguided as that may be, Sanders is the only candidate that beats Trump head to head right now)

People want Bernie to distance himself from the Russians and Republican 'endorsement' as well as Joe Rogan endorsement(because he is racist I guess?) People really want to say Bernie is the same as Trump but why? Is it true or is it mud slinging?

Shows you the nefarious influence of cash in our elections. We need to put the brakes on that.

Bolded is not true. Biden does as well, typically by slightly bigger margins than Sanders.

But lots of folks have already decided Biden will destroy himself, so this probably doesn't matter to anyone. If anything I think the narrative has gotten a bit out of hand and Biden's got a hint more staying power than people are giving him credit for. I could easily see him being the candidate no one really took seriously until he beat the crowded field around him ala Trump in 2016.

Anyway, as much as I like Sanders politics, there's risk in running a guy who's never had a serious oppo campaign run on him. If he is the nominee he will never have been under this type of microscope. None of us know how undecided voters will respond.

It is true according to the latest emerson poll. Bernie slightly beats Trump 51-49. Warren and Biden are even with Trump 50-50

Ahhh, I hadn't seen that one.

I always try to look at the polling average, which still has Biden slightly ahead of Bernie.

Personally I think there's risk for both candidates, I am just quicker to acknowledge the risk for Bernie whereas others seem to be all in on him having unlimited upside. It's easy to see the risk with Biden.

IMO Sanders would probably run stronger in WI and probably a tossup in MI/OH but Biden is stronger in PA/FL/AZ/GA/NC. And as everyone knows, non-swing states don't matter. Our elections boil down to ≤10 states.

i will say....the republicans are going to have a dream come true if sanders wins.   they will be running against someone who calls himself a socialist.   they will hammer that like trump would a porn star....and we have to admit that would be very effective for them.   having said that i will reaffirm that i will vote for bernie if he wins the democratic nomination but i think it will be a tougher battle than bernie supporters think it will be.

I understand there is risk with Bernie but people also do the opposite with him and say he can't win at all and that couldn't be further from the truth. He is right with Biden as far as beating Trump.

Ehh. Bernie runs on populist policies. I don't think the socialism angle will work as well for them as they think it will.

I agree wholeheartedly. And I'm still likely voting for Sanders in the primary. I tend to be strategic with my vote so it will depend on what the race looks like when Nebraska caucuses. (Obligatory: Caucuses are a dumb waste of time)

@Nebfanatic You'd be surprised. If Trump has taught us one thing it's that a lot of people are dumb enough that if you feed them obvious propaganda or lies repeatedly for long enough, they will start to buy it.  I'm already hearing the attacks start. An older guy concluded a business meeting yesterday with a joke about the socialists taking over. Of course, it was in Wyoming which is about as red as it gets, so not really an unbiased example.

It will work on some of course. But I think when the candidates get into a debate situation Bernie will be able to dispell the propaganda and get across his policies and how he will accomplish them. Trump doesn't have that in his repertoire. He will just continue to attack and berate. I don't think that schtick will work as well this time around. Honestly though I don't think it matters. I think Biden or Bernie or even Warren would be able to defeat Trump. I think Trumps biggest enemy in the election is himself.

I think one important difference between 2016 and 2020 is that, fair or not, Clinton was one of the most disliked candidates in awhile. The racists didn't like Obama but other than that he is likeable. Biden has the Ukraine conspiracy attached to him now but I think Bengahzi and the emails probably outweigh that by a fair margin as far as public perception. Biden, Bernie and Warren are all more likeable than Clinton was in 2016. The dislike for Clinton may not have been warranted but it was still a unique dynamic of the 2016 election that will play less of a role in the 2020 election imo. Trump was unlikable to many in 2016 as well but he has grown far more unlikable with 4 years of political exposure. He is the least liked candidate in the race this time.
