Vedral just looked more comfortable when he came in. Adrian Martinez is playing timid...there is absolutely no question about that. I watched one of his games last year vs this year, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is something going on with him. He might have a mental block or he might be scared to get injured. Either way, he is not playing up to his potential. Now, having said that, it would be nice if we can see Martinez play when he can depend on the center to actually do what they are supposed to do and that is snap the damn ball correctly. Jurgens is definitely messing with Martinez mindset. Frost needs to admit that Jurgens is struggling and do something to fix this issue before it costs us more games.

Yup...AM is jumping on every snap, even when he doesnt have to

I don't care if Vedral wins us games and looks better than Martinez, or Luke comes in and looks better than Martinez. I just want to win.

I will go back to an old saying in football though. "Everyone loves the backup until he becomes the starter."

Ron Kellogg, Cody Green, Ryker Fyfe, Andrew Bunch...

Please clear the cobwebs for me.  How do people "know" that AM is that much better at QB than NV ?  Yes, he should be better as he clearly won the job and he clearly was the guy last year too, and finally Scotty Frosty says he is better, but.......how do we truly know?  NV has never played 4 quarters and was behind a heck of a lot better QB at UCF but even then saw the field at times.  If you are truly going to be honest, we don't know what NV will do in a full 4 quarter game and he could be great, he could be average, could even be a flop but as a fan base we JUST DONT KNOW.

Heck maybe Bunch is better than Martinez! We have a similar sample size between Bunch and Vedral, so if we don't know about Vedral we don't know about Bunch either. Coaches don't just roll with a QB that might be worse than the backup unless there's some kind of competition, and I've heard nothing that makes it sound like it's particularly close between the two.

I think our offense gets rolling this week whether it's Vedral or Martinez, but it's going to be super annoying when people are calling for Vedral to remain the starter if that happens. I think he'll be good, but I'll take the ceiling on Martinez any day.

The coaching staff goes through hours of practices, scrimmage situations, and film study of those practices to determine spots on the depth chart.  These practices are during spring and fall workouts in front of the coaching staff.  Martinez won the QB competition last year (albeit not technically against Vedral), and I am confident that Vedral doesn't show the same speed, arm strength, and other qualities for the QB position which Martinez has.  If Vedral were showing all of these amazing things in spring and fall training camps, I think the coaches would have said something about an open competition.  Yes, we don't know how Vedral will fare in a full-game situation, but I think it's foolish to say that he would be "better than" Martinez.

Cough Joe Ganz vs Sam Keller cough.

Coaches can can and will play favorites. It’s uncommon. But not unheard of.

Yes, I understand that can happen.  If Vedral does play against Minnesota, I want him to do super awesome.  But, when Martinez is fully healthy, I want him to be the QB.
