  5. There's a certain point that if they catch it before that, there is actually hope. Problem is it isn't caught before that point in the majority of cases. That is how it was explained to me by someone whose husband passed due to PanCan. And it's a horrible way to go.
  6. This is so sad and sudden. I am glad he decided to bring it up after trying to keep it quiet. I will pray for him and wish him the best. PanCan is so aggressive. 6 months tops, but typically 3-6 months to live after diagnosis. At least from what I have always known. And that time goes quickly and it's no picnic at the same time.
  7. No…it’s been brewing for years.
  8. Wowzer. That escalated fast. Tell us how you really feel. Lol.
  9. Not a boomer, but I paid off my student loans and so did my wife. My first child graduated with zero student loan debt by a combination of taking on line summer and mid semester community college classes, getting academic scholarships, working and a little help from mom and dad. My second child graduates in May and will have zero student loan debt by doing the exact same process. They are not Boomers either. They worked hard in HS, worked hard in college and as a matter of fact, this past year my son has been working a full time salaries position while taking 18 and 21 hour credit semesters in order to graduate in three years because his summer finance internship hired him full time and asked him to push it and finish early. Neither of them jacked around or got a worthless degree and both make enough to be able to pay off student loans if they would have has to take them. For all that effort and sacrifice, they and I get to see others get rewarded for financial incompetence. Yayyyyy! College is absolutely too expensive for what they provide. No doubt about it. However….Anyone, and I mean anyone can get a two year degree with zero debt easily and get the other two years with minimal debt by working during school……if you are financially smart and go to an in-state public school.
  10. What a f#&%ing joke. His son has never done anything with him. But, we are all supposed to be heart broken over this.
  11. Not sure but don’t care. Play stupid games…
  12. You're presuming the young peson's interest is entirely self-interest; motivated to avoid being drafted rather than drawing attention to the immorality of the Vietnam war itself, waged by people they couldn't vote for. It's comparable to every social justice movement where young people have a natural and often knee-jerk rejection of authority, and align themselves with the underdog. In terms of foreign conflicts it's always about anti-Western colonialism, Palestine being the latest in a long line. Some of the protesters are just anarchist d******ds larping out. Many are not. The d******ds will always get the camera time. People used the same disgusted language to describe white kids attending sit-ins with negroes and being arrested protesting the Vietnam war in the early '60s. Now those same kids are celebrated in black and white retrospectives. Gaza could be a blip on the radar, neither Civil Rights nor Vietnam, but the way the narrative has flipped in six months and the potential for a full scale Middle East reckoning suggests the young protestors may have a case.

  14. I have seen way more of them on the road but in the end it still has to be a totally small % of cars that get purchased. Plus there is the EXTREME child labor issues.
  15. American teenagers protesting for their right to vote or to not be drafted into war is hardly comparable to today’s youth protesting in support of Hamas/Palestine. I’m failing to see any parallels.
  16. Not to derail the FoPo thread, but it is refreshing to see SOMEONE take A step to address the ridiculous cost of financing secondary education so we can actually fill out important fields requiring advanced education instead of leaving vast swaths of our workforce cratered. However misguided people want to judge student loan forgiveness to be (and you can make a strong argument is)... what the hell else is anyone else doing to address the issue as screwed up it as it is? It seems like the conservative position on the issue is to pretend college is still just as affordable as it was decades ago and b!^@h loudly at anyone who complains that it isn't. Cue snarky Boomers not understanding why young people don't just work a job to pay for college like they did when they were younger.
