  1. I was a longtime poster on the rivals husker site. Louisiana Husker saying that would be like knapplc saying it over here. He is an OG and doesn't go off the deep end. I have yet to hear that ink has hit paper but I have received a couple texts that said we just got frosty from people who are right more often than they are wrong. Was also told we gave Frost a very large pool for his assistants. Sounds like we settled on 5 mil per year for 7 years.

  2. So on page 251 some of you are really going to question Mavric's information, but fall all over yourselves begging Hedley for reassurance every half hour? Mavric is one of, if not the most respected person on this board. And this isn't a shot at Hedley, I have no reason to doubt the information he is bringing and I've enjoyed tracking his posts through this, but I'd advise that you also pay heed to the stuff that Mavric brings as well.

  3. Good evening all, just found this board about a weeks ago, been lurking and enjoying this thread. The other board I am normally on does not allow rumors, so I have been spending all my time here, finally decided to join. I have to say, I am intrigued by the quality of posters here. I don’t have any good info to pass on or add, but I will try and chime in when and where I can. Like the majority here, I am hoping it will be SF.

  5. NU wanted to have a deal agreed to by Tuesday. Frost hadn't committed so on Wednesday NU started working on Fuente harder - and there was mutual interest there. However, it was agreed to give Frost until Saturday. NU struck a tentative deal with Frost on Friday, though still working out some details - salary pool for assistants, etc. Frost has turned away all other suitors - Florida, Tennessee, etc. Since it's only a tentative deal, he could technically still choose to remain at Central Florida but, barring a dramatic change-of-heart on Frost's part - everything is set to go.

  6. UCF meeting with Frost today trying to talk him into staying. He had previously been offered a contract extension but hadn't signed it. UCF also making plans for their next coach - compling their own list. UCF media guys thinking Frost is gone.

  8. Don’t wear Husker gear. Stop treating other team’s games like Husker games. You guys look pathetic if you wear NU gear.

  9. I always thought this FootballScoop was click bait, yet some people said they were a credible source. Given the bolded part, I can't take them seriously.

  10. Oh, I know. Scott has always had interest in coaching Nebraska, ever since he got into coaching. He loves the team and wants it to do well, and he thinks he's the guy to get it there. He's always had Nebraska on his radar, but there's risk involved for him, too - and he knows that. So Scott works his way up through the coaching ranks, building contacts along the way, always keeping an eye out for a call from Nebraska. Finally he gets a shot at his own school, UCF, and it's hard work - but he's good at it, and he builds them up. At the same time, the Nebraska job is being held by a guy he knows is in over his head. So he waits. This season started off perfect, with wins piling up for UCF and losses mounting for Nebraska. Scott and Tom Osborne had discussed the Nebraska job when Osborne spoke at UCF in August, and a tacit agreement was reached between the two about the job, which would be opening soon. When Eichorst was fired in September, Scott's agent was contacted by University officials to make sure interest was still high, and Scott replied it was. Frost was consulted about Bill Moos' hiring, to see if the two could work together, and Scott OK'd the hire. So all the pieces were in place. Riley's season went as we now all know it did, and by the end of October, negotiations were well underway on an actual contract. The contract was agreed to in principle in early November, and we all just waited for the season to play out. Riley - despite what he said in the presser - was informed about his fate after the Northwestern game. Nothing he could do against the remainder of the schedule would save his job. Scott's people were contacted about several jobs, but not as many as has been rumored. He didn't get serious consideration for the Florida job, despite what's been reported here. Frost will coach UCF through the AAC title game, and an announcement will be made next Sunday, a week from today, that he's going to be Nebraska's new coach. It depends what happens in the title game and what bowl berth UCF gets if Scott coaches them or comes straight to Nebraska. If they get into the Playoffs, he'll stay with UCF - but that's unlikely. Scott had a turkey and avocado sandwich for lunch today, and plans on a light breakfast in the morning. Multiple sources have confirmed all of this.

  14. I think its because frost crosses off so many wants. Has nebraska ties / Knows about nebraska culture / Is a successful coach / Worked under TO and won a NC / Would get the splash hire we looked for 3 yers ago / Runs a system that could work here / Has a successful team in place that would most likely go with him / And most importantly Would piss off ESPN because they think that coming to nebraska is a fools thing to do because we are a dead program in the heartland of the country who they never liked or understand how a program like ours can strive when they know the only real talent is in the SEC.

  17. Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

  19. Pay attention to all this media crap. A few days ago everyone on here was told that Frost was coming. During that time big media outlets and their minions kept hinting Florida or Tennessee, and hardly mentioned Nebraska. Now all of the sudden, Frost is turning down jobs. Those jobs were turned down a long time ago.. You all are now in the know and see how ridiculous this media train is. Most are not credible and are as clueless as anyone. This is a prime example of the bias and motive to keep SEC teams relevant and in your minds. This is the crap that Nebraska has to fight. Frost was never going to put those two teams ahead of Nebraska. Wolken, Feldman, gtfo.

  21. "Tom Osborne called Frost yesterday and told him it was time to come home " I don't doubt they've spoken multiple times about this (probably with Frost asking his advice) but whoever wrote that doesn't know anything about TO.

  32. Petersen is happy in Washington. Tennessee would not be a move up in my opinion. Didn't they also land Frost a few days ago? Tennessee has moved on from Frost Florida has moved on from Frost Wonder where Frost could possibly be going.....

  35. Maybe it’s because we’ve been burned in the past so many times, whether that be by recruits or potential hires, but I won’t stop being nervous until Scott is here with the ink dry on the contract. UCF still scares me.

  38. Sources I hear in my head told me that Tom was actually at Scott's house for supper and Scott was still at work. Scott's wife was making lasagna which everyone knows is Tom's favorite. Tom was very hungry and was growing impatient so he call Scott and told him it was time to come home.....so they could eat the delicious lasagna

  40. When frost retires in 20 years I would imagine the fan base would be united, we would be a steady winning program that almost any coach would want to come here.

  43. Don’t think they would appreciate that. We are totally stealing their coach and dealing their program a setback if Frost leaves. If some dude steals your wife I doubt you want him around at your birthday party
