You said it has nothing to do with being a starter. The entire tradition is literally based on being a starter. There wouldn’t be any Blackshirts if it weren’t for coaches wanting to differentiate the starters. So, yeah, it has a helluva lot to do with being a starter. Unless you mean the Italian fascists. They definitely gave max effort and had a kick your a** attitude.3 points

I say stuff. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's just stupid and people laugh anyway because they are nice and don't want me to be sad......2 points

Clifford you are correct I fear. We aren't a majority any longer. BRB and I would not be considered conservative enough any more. I feel like I'm a voter without a party right now. Maybe that is a very good thing. It fees me to vote for a Democrat if an acceptable one is running in by District or for Senate or any local/state offices. I've seen alot of craziness over the past few years by Republicans in Oklahoma. The litmus test becomes narrower and narrower as politicians try to 'out conservative' the other guy. I think the real issue is the definition of conservative has been co-opped by radicals who are redefining it into 'nationalism' that is not conservative or truly patriotic (by patriotic I mean - accepting all people who are citizens of all colors and across the political spectrum and not just those who agree wt the brand of patriotism that Trump and repubs push.) Their version isn't what I signed up for.2 points

He has good measurables being he is 6'4. He throws better than I anticipated. He has also been consistent at the varsity level as a 3 soon to be 4 year starter at QB. JR: 1,218 passing yards (62%) 21 TD 5 INT, 745 rushing yards (7 ypc) 12 TD - also had 2 receiving TD2 points

I follow Allyne Hane (The Lawn Care Nut) on YouTube and Twitter for lawn tips and this is after my first mow of the season after throwing down some Milorganite and lawn starter. I did throw down some tall turf fescue within the yard and in some bare spots. After a week I haven’t seen any grass growing but that’s normal should see some/ little results by week 2. I used the toro lawn striper today and made some double wide stripes1 point

Better chance there than here. Here he only has a 1 out of 5 shot. At least at Ohio State he had a 33% chance.1 point

As Numb said, it really boils down to how much we want to argue the minutiae. The blackshirts began as a means to differentiate who was a starter and who wasn't. It then grew into a powerful message of being a starter while exemplifying aspects of hard work, toughness and accountability. In the last 20 years, it has developed this mythos that (in some ways) has become a bit ridiculous and irritating, in my opinion. The only thing that's going to make the blackshirt mean something again is the starting defenders playing well while exemplifying hard work, accountability and toughness.1 point

Was impressed on his film with how much touch he throws with on his passes. However, would also like to see a bit more zip and pure arm strength in some places too. Overall great athlete, would be solid as a QB or if he ended up switching positions.1 point

True, but our big sales pitch to both is that we are taking them as QB’s, so we have to sell that hard. It’s not going to work to tell them hey, we will try you out at QB and if it doesn’t work, we will move you.1 point

Not sure when exactly the freshman RB from UCF showed up last year, but he seemed to excel as a freshman. Otis Anderson I think was his name.1 point

A knight would be a better fighter because they had armor, a horse, and a big effing sword.1 point

The problem with waiting until they’ve “earned it” is when they proceed to give up 408 yards to the opposing runningback or getting their doors blown off by a 7-5 team in the B1G title game. Pelini withheld them, but ultimately handed them out at some point each season. In the last few years, it seemed more like “well, that’s probably the best our D is going to look this year, we better hand them out now.”1 point

I agree, it used to be for special players only, under Riley it was like a participation ribbon.1 point

Can I request each post has no more than 3 tweets? When there's a full page of posts with many tweets in each post, my PC browser comes to a halt for a minute or two and my phone just hangs forever.1 point
