  2. I don't think they belong in the same sentence as 95 at this point, even saying potentially. Two the of the three have never played a D1 snap the other has serious knee problems that have limited him the last 18 months. But just my opinion, I hope you end to right.

  4. This is kind of what I was thinking as I read Snook's post. McMurphy's seemed like someone reporting what they've discovered from records and interviews. Snook's sounds like Joe Pesci giving his opening argument in My Cousin Vinny. "Everything that guy just said, is bull s#!t." Ultimately, Snook may be right. But it's not because of any agenda on McMurphy's part. And whoever tipped McMurphy off doesn't have anything to do with what Zach Smth did.

  5. Nobody will move to defense. Ozigbo and Wilson are gone after this year, Tre Bryant is healthy now, but isn’t guaranteed to be that way, and Bell only has 2 years left as he was a JUCO. Bradley could be the odd man out, but I still like what he has to offer in this offense.

  6. You The Point ------------------> And I love how you so blithely side-stepped the issues I raised. You rail against "welfare" for poor people but side-step the fact that rich people take more welfare than poor people do. Conservatives: Welfare is only bad when it goes to poor people. And my point about Ocasio-Cortez was to highlight her comment that we only "can't afford" things when it flows down to poor people. When it flows upward into the pockets of the billionaire class and their corrupt GOP cronies, we have all the money in the world. Conservatives: Tax cuts and tax subsidies for billionaires...we can "afford." A 6th branch of the military, Space Force...we can "afford." A runaway defense budget with unlimited funding...we can "afford." Also Conservatives: Living wages Protect the environment Healthcare for all College or trade schools...WE CAN'T AFFORD THOSE THINGS!!!!!!

  13. I heard some good advice once: when you're arguing something, always argue against the strongest form of your opponent's argument. That way you're actually arguing on the merits and not just tackling some straw man. It's something we're all guilty of a lot of the time - arguing against a weak or misleading opposing position. That's what this is. There may be liberals who call for open borders, but none in the mainstream, certainly no elected officials with any actual power. The bolded is closer to the Koch brothers point of view than that of liberals on immigration.

  17. Huh, how about that. Who do you think that favors? Most of us rely an actual income to survive, not the wealth we already have. That wealth, when it is actually taxed usually is a capital gains tax, which can be greatly reduced through shrewd accounting techniques. That most of us aren't capable of benefiting from.

  21. Two of the world's most dangerous and dishonest dictators just played Donald Trump like a flute. If you would like a picture of true derangement, imagine Fox News covering Barack Obama's capitulation to Kim and Putin, virtually as Kim and Putin would have drawn it up themselves. https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2143171/north-koreas-nuclear-test-site-has-collapsed-and-may-be-why-kim-jong-un

  24. I will listen to reason and common sense. But I don't want anything that is a known carcinogen used to make my house. What if one of those tiles crack? Or several of them crack? Things happen. So if these things being made with asbestos are "perfectly safe" then it is reasonable to assume Trump and all other conservatives will be using these products personally. It's like the Republican who says that smelting plant won't pollute the air or poison the water, but doesn't want it put within 1,000 miles of where he lives. It's "funny" how (?some? ?most? ?all?) conservatives seem to be okay with poisoning the environment as long it happens only in poor and non-white communities. I know that's not what you're saying, but elected Republicans in general don't care about protecting the environment. And not that I am some radical environmentalist, but I do believe that we, as human beings, should be good stewards and make sure the Earth is habitable and healthy for future generations.

  25. And yes I put the highlighted portion in Comic-Sans font because what you said is ludicrous and I wanted an equally ludicrous font to demonstrate it. Except... Corporate Welfare Taxpayers Subsidizing the 1% So you sit there and predictably rail against the strawman of "welfare queens" or "people who refuse to work" but remain utterly silent on the fact that billionaires, and the huge corporations they own, actually receive MORE "welfare" than poor people ever do. So let me ask you: Why is there only "indignation" on the part of conservatives when it is poor people receiving benefits? As Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rightly points out: Don't you think it's interesting how conservatives only "care" about fiscal responsibility and limiting government spending when that money goes to poor people? But they (?you?) have zero qualms or issues when public taxpayer monies goes to their billionaire cronies, national defense, and funding endless wars, why do you suppose THAT is?

  28. Driving time to Big XII opponents (from Lincoln, per Google Maps) North - Average 4 hours-12 minutes Kansas State - 2-33 Kansas - 3-20 Iowa State - 3-37 Missouri - 4-47 Colorado - 6-43 South - Average 11 hours-38 minutes Oklahoma State - 6-07 Oklahoma - 6-47 Baylor - 10-19 Texas Tech - 11-02 Texas A&M - 11-39 Texas - 12-15 Driving time to B1G opponents West - Average 7 hours-07 minutes Iowa - 4-24 Minnesota - 6-14 Wisconsin - 7-07 Illinois - 7-41 Northwestern - 8-10 Purdue - 9-08 East - Average 16 hours-04 minutes Indiana - 9-59 Michigan State - 10-28 Michigan - 10-46 Ohio State - 12-02 Penn State - 16-09 Maryland - 18-00 Rutgers - 18-58 I guess "not that big of a deal" is a pretty relative term but a 69% increase in driving distance within the division and a 38% increase to the other division is pretty significant. In addition, in the Big XII there were four road games you could do as a day trip without too much trouble. There's only one of those now. So that makes quite a bit of difference.

  29. Ric would have to go pretty far to warrant a banning, and I personally haven't seen anything that comes close. 62 million Americans voted for Donald Trump. It baffles me. And yes, Trump presents a unique danger to America and the world. I truly believe that. But I don't see a way out unless I understand what Trump supporters are thinking. There's a good chance it will be offensive to my sensibilities. That doesn't mean I'd like to see them banned or discouraged from posting in this forum. They're just going to have to bring their A-game. This board tends to do its research.

  31. Correct. And it's not like ICE has been this agency that we've always depended on or something - it was created in 2002.

  32. Again , please provide data to show the magnitude of the issue. Maybe it's no not worth bothering to spend the money on the issue if it is a small occurrence. Again, you're not even arguing the actual issue. Democrats want to replace ICE since it's become an almost gestapo like entity. No one is saying elminate ICE and do nothing else.

  36. My husband (non Nebraskan) saw the word, Kearney and pronounced it KEERney. I've always heard it as Carnie. But, considering that he also pronounced Dubuque as DO-B-Q, I think he just sucks at picking up how words should be pronounced. I'm not sure if i ever laughed so hard as when he asked if I had ever been to DO-B-Q, and even had to call my parents and share it with them. Also BOO to anyone who says WORSH. Man, that grates on my nerves. Along the same lines, saying the word, SEEN, when it should be SAW (or I have SEEN), is nails on a chalkboard, but that is a different topic.

And popiggle.....I've never heard that. Popsickle seems pretty straightforward. Accurate I've heard both ways. Ackyurate seems right to me. I don't like ackerate. I'll say comfortable both ways depending on usage and context.

  38. What do you expect, the guy is lazy. Trump on the other hand has worked harder than any president in the history of the world and the economy knew that even before he was elected. The economy and Trump are friends so the economy knows what a great guy Trump is. Because of this, the economy has been working out so it can look good around the President. He's just such an inspirational person, its incredible how much bigger and stronger the economy is now all thanks to the Donald.

  41. You wanna talk up those numbers and show us how much it piles up to? And what's the percentage of people that refuse to work compared to the total populus? I see that argument (usually anecdotally) thrown around all the time, but never hard data to support it.

  43. Herman pretty much dodged the question. On one hand, it was a Texas press conference, and I can understand him not wanting to comment on another program, especially since there's an ongoing investigation. On the other hand, he still kinda makes you wonder how much he'd heard, even if he had no direct involvement. Reminds me of when Charlie Sheen was on Two and a Half Men. Holds a knife to his wife's throat? "This is a very private matter, and we're going to let them work things out without our interference." Makes fun of the producer? "FIRED!"
