  1. I said before I wasn't going to comment on this any further, but Urban, Gene Smith, Zac Smith just need to shut up. They have already done enough damage to the school, athletic department, and most importantly to Courtney Smith and her kids. Just stop! Meyer and Gene Smith are lucky to even have a job at this point.

  2. First off....like I have said. From the President on down, stop demonizing these people. The vast majority just want a better life, came here for a job (actually want to work), are less prone to be a violent criminal than native born Americans.....etc. Demonizing an entire group of people does nothing other than creates a false sense of fear that is not good for anyone other than a politician wanting votes. The idiot and chief is even starting to demonize LEGAL immigrants. Second, there are anywhere from 10 - 12 million illegal immigrants in the US. To deport all of them, would be both a human rights disaster and destroy our economy at the same time. On top of that, the cost of doing so would be enormous. WAY more than the actual cost of having them here. So, let's start with the reality, we are not deporting all illegal immigrants. So, what's the solution? a) Figure out a way that people that are here can become legal. Deport violent criminals and give the people who are here, working hard, raising their families and contributing to our communities and economy, a path to citizenship. b) Fix our immigration system so it's easier to immigrate legally. The system is a disaster. I've been familiar with or helped with two people going through it and it's almost impossible. And...this was even long before Drumpf took office. c) Once that is all discussed and figured out, I'm fine with increasing border security. We do need to know who is coming into our country. That said, I am not under the delusion that we will stop all illegal immigration. Fact, a very large number of people who are illegal, came here legally with a visa and over stayed the visa. Many are even European...I guess the idiot doesn't care about them because they aren't from s#!t hole countries. Fix the system without destroying people's lives. The vast majority of these people are here contributing to the economy, raising their families and paying taxes....many times to a system they won't get much (if any) benefit from in the long run. PS.....and building a friggen physical wall is the dumbest idea thrown out in the last 30 years on the subject.

  5. I once saw a documentary where a guy had no cartilage left in his aging knees but he was fitted with some sort of mechanical knee brace that made his leg strong enough that he could immediately kick through a brick pillar. After that, the guy was able to resume his old job as Batman. Maybe it wasn't an actual documentary. Anyway, Tre Bryant needs to get one of those knee braces.

  19. Rosenstein is super important because he's the one technically overseeing the Mueller investigation since Sessions recused himself. Trump cannot order Sessions to fire Mueller, theoretically. He can order Rosenstein to do so, which presumably would result in another Saturday Night Massacre because I believe he'd refuse the order. Or he could just fire Rosenstein and try to replace him with some lackey who will fire Mueller for him. The way I understand it, Mueller will send his finished report(s) to Congress, not sure about Rosenstein. I doubt it becomes public, though we'll def get leaks. The ball is then is completely in Congress's court. There's no way Rosenstein attempts to take action against Trump himself. Both he and Mueller and Republicans and most likely believe the consensus view that a president cannot be indicted and only removed through impeachment or the 25th amendment.

  22. I worked for his Presidential campaign back in 2000 and met him briefly. He is a great guy and a true American hero. I didn’t always agree with him, but always respected the hell out of him. I can’t fathom what he went through. Sad to see his time here coming to an end.

  23. It is not accuracy. Completion percentage and accuracy are not remotely the same. A completion is whether anyone caught the ball. Accuracy is how close you were to your target. Especially when you are evaluating quarterbacks this is huge. If a receiver has to adjust, but catches the ball is vastly different than hitting him in stride. Trying to throw a fade vs missing inside is the difference between a DB breaking on the ball vs not. Merely catching the ball is a function of receiver vs defender but putting the ball where you want is a repeatable skill.

  24. Interesting stats from UCF's offensive production comparing 2016 to 2017. 2016: Team averaged 18.8 completions on 34.5 attempts (54.6%) for 209.7 yds (1.1 TD per game) QB Holman yds/attempt: 6.1 QB Milton yds/attempt: 5.9 Milton rushed 100 times on the season for 158 yds (1.58 yds/carry average) Team rushing: 40.5 attempts, 3.5 yd/carry ave., 1.9 TDs per game 2017: Team averaged 22.1 completions on 32.6 attempts (67.7%) for 331.8 yds (2.9 TDs/game) QB Milton yds/attempt: 10.2 QB Vedral yds/attempt 9.5 Milton rushed 106 times on the season for 613 yds (5.8 yds/carry) Team rushing: 38.5 attempts, 5.2 yd/carry ave., 3 TDs per game Pass Plays / Rush Plays 2016 34.5 40.5 2017 32.6 38.5 So efficiency on offense went way up in Year 2, but why? Better reads? Better O-Line? Added speed players around Milton? An extra year of strength/conditioning? More familiarity with the offence? Frost more familiar with the competition's defenses? All of the above?

  29. The part in bold is the part that is hardly ever discussed, but it needs to be. I taught in Grand Island for 12 years and I dealt with a lot of students that had very personal knowledge of the process. I don't think everyone understands just how hard it is to become a legal citizen of the U.S. I'm not trying to defend anyone that is here illegally, but most of them would be here legally if it was an easier process that didn't take forever to go through. You are correct, it has absolutely nothing to do with Trump because it's been this way for over 20 years or more. The government should be taking a look at how they can change that system so that we can get more immigrants to be legal citizens. Most of them want to be here legally.

  30. Team Trump's latest defense: Trump: The Stock Market would crash if they impeached him Rudy: People will riot if Trump is impeached. So lets get this straight - we've gone from no Russian meeting, to Russian meeting on adaptions, then later correct that -discussing the campaign from no collusion, to collusion isn't illegal, from no pay offs to females, to my lawyer did it and it didn't come out of campaign money From "They have nothing on me" To broad brush fear tactics - market to crash, people riot - if justice is served because of what they actually have on me. (Why - would the market crash and people riot? Because Trump is the country's savior in the minds of these people. I say these people are delusional ! https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/giuliani-revolt-trump-impeached_us_5b7fd303e4b0cd327dfbb06a

  31. Thanks for the info....very interesting! --Now if you'll excuse me while I wander into the weeds-- I am unaware if he has already crunched the numbers, but I did some below: 2017 Big Ten average Defense vs. Pace of Play (basically the offensive speed of playcalling) = #65.83/128 with a median of 77/128 2017 SEC average Defense vs. Pace of Play (basically the offensive speed of playcalling) = #92.2/128 with a median of 101/128 I would put this forward as evidence that the average SEC team defense probably face more conventional (at least in terms of speed of playcalling) offenses, and that they also most likely face far fewer snaps during a year. This could contribute to a team being healthier/have more endurance at the end of the year. Does anyone have any data showing snaps faced vs. Team Defense Health or snaps made vs. Team Offensive Health at end of season? I would be interested in knowing if this is negligible, or significant. Is there any data that team defenses that have not faced a top 30 offensive team (in terms of pace of play) struggle more, less, or the same? A final question, does the Nebraska Athletic department have anybody looking at statistical analysis of things like this? I am certainly not advocating a "Moneyball" approach to college football, but statistical data could inform some of a coach's (Frost's) decisions? For instance, is there a point at which the pace of play becomes negligible to effecting a defense? For instance is the difference between an 15 second and 18 second snap negligible, but 18 seconds rather than a 21 second snap is very significant?

  32. The funny thing is, he seems to be saying that instead of investigating him, the DOJ should be investigating "Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr...... " They could do both (if there was ample evidence of crime), but that doesn't mean they'll stop investigating Trump. Whether those guys committed crimes or not doesn't affect Donnie Moscow or his (alleged) crimes.

  35. Well, Graham is saying it could happen after the midterms, and his stupid statement today makes it clear he's fine with it. I honestly don't know if it would make much of a difference at that point in time though. That would give Mueller several more months on the investigation, so maybe it'll be done by then. And at the end of the investigation it might be that all he can do anyway is give his findings to the House and Senate. If the Democrats win the House they will certainly impeach Trump. But then the Democrats in the Senate would need 16 or more Republicans to join them in convicting. I don't know what more could be done if that fails regardless of who is in charge of the Justice Dept. Now if the Democrats can pull off a miracle and also take the Senate, Trump might not want to fire Sessions, because he may not be able to get anyone "better" confirmed.

  36. Fun - and true - story that you might appreciate. We were at the Missouri game in Columbia in 1999. We were sitting in the south end zone and the Husker cheerleaders were near the southeast corner of the field in front of us. I happened to look that way just in time to see several of the male cheerleaders - who were not small fellows - go sprinting up the sideline behind the benches. Looking that direction I saw what they were headed for in such a hurry: a bunch of (drunk) Missouri students had pulled Lil Red halfway into the student section and were attempting to throw punches at him. Given their drunken state and the bubble of protection I don't think they did much harm in the short time before the cavalry arrived and rescued Lil Red but it was interesting to see. The entire second half was a parade of Missouri students being escorted out of the stadium by security. I think of that scene pretty much every time I see Lil Red.
