  2. I’m past the high school accusations. His testimony alone and his behavior in that setting should be reason enough to vote “no”. Our nation has drastically lowered it’s standards and it is uphauling....

  5. 2018 Game 5 “Expert” Picks: Nebraska @ Wisconsin ————— CollegeFootballNews.com https://collegefootballnews.com/2018/10/nebraska-vs-wisconsin-fearless-prediction-game-preview One Reason Why Nebraska Will Win It’s a mobile quarterback against the Wisconsin defense. New Mexico was never going to beat the Badgers, but Tevaka Tuioti moved the Lobo down the field completing 5-of-8 passes for 55 yards and a score on the way to a 7-3 first quarter lead. And then he got knocked out of the game. The Huskers need Adrian Martinez to use his mobility, his playmaking upside, and his skill set to try giving the Badger D fits. There were plenty of issues in Nebraska’s loss to Purdue, but Martinez threw for 323 yards and ran for 91 more. For all of the good things the Badgers do, they don’t generate a whole lot of pressure or make a slew of big things happen in the backfield. As good as the Badger D is, it’ll give up third downs. If Martinez gets the time and space to move, he might just be able to keep up the pace and get the passing game going. However … One Reason Why Wisconsin Will Win If Martinez isn’t moving the chains, this could get ugly fast. Wisconsin leads the Big Ten with time of possession, keeping the ball for over 35 minutes per game. And now the Badgers have had two weeks off to rest up that dinged up O line. Nebraska is dead last in the Big Ten in time of possession, keeping it for under 28 minutes a game mostly because Martinez and company can’t convert on third down chances. You know what the Badgers are going to do, and the Nebraska defensive front can’t stop it. The Huskers have allowed four rushing touchdowns in each of the last two games, and now they’re going to get steamrolled over by the rested Wisconsin offensive front. What’s Going To Happen Wisconsin will start slow, and will even get down early, and then the running game will kick in. Jonathan Taylor and the offensive line will take over in the second quarter as the Badgers go on three straight touchdown drives. Martinez will have his moments, but three turnovers from the Husker O will kill promising drives. 11. Time for some positive vibes around here. 5 reasons why you think we beat Wisconsin 1. Frost was playing possum through the first four games just to get this win. 2. Martinez makes their D look silly. 3. We dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of ball after player only meeting this week. 4. The bad apples are gone, no more stupid penalties and turnovers. 5. Frost said, "Wisconsin is the team to catch and we will." 6. Coaching advantage Nebraska.

  12. During one of those Osborne seasons I sat behind an elderly woman who came to the games by herself. Every time Nebraska failed to convert a third down, she'd throw up her hands and say "well there goes the Orange Bowl!"

  13. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) who is the single most likely Democrat in the Senate to lose her seat, will vote no on Kavanaugh. Twitter is busy racing to hot takes about why she reached that conclusion. Here's one I like. And then straight from the horse's mouth, this is pretty hard to argue with.

  16. Husker fans being husker fans. Already wanting to fire a coach after 4 damn games Heres a weird idea, how about we actually try to have a little stability and keep these coaches around and let them get their own players in and develop them. I know its a weird idea for some but the way of firing coaches after 2-3 years hasnt been working so lets try a different way.

  17. They'd already decided in advance that getting a conservative majority on the Court was worth any price. A pervasive quality to the GOP at this point is they elevate getting and holding power above everything else to the point of being pathological for them and screwing over anyone who tries to get in their way. It's poetic justice that they picked such a garbage human being as Kavanaugh that would blow up in their face nationally like this. Republicans themselves have sure rallied behind him, but everyone else pretty unanimously thinks this guy shouldn't be on the Court. But sounds like McConnell wants a vote this Friday. I think this saga is about to wrap itself up. I think the best we can hope for at this point is that Roberts takes the institutional reputation of the Court seriously enough to not let it turn into judicial arm of the Republican Party AND they get destroyed at midterms and in 2020 in response to ignoring or acting outright hostile to the majority of the country. And for overreaching. And for utterly lacking accountability and oversight. There's any number of reasons the GOP deserves to get wiped out in November.

  18. And it's not like the questions asked by professional investigators with unlimited time and training on asking questions and the ability and support to follow up with any individuals mentioned in an interview are any different than politicians who are given a total of 5 mins to speak, often times choosing to just use that time to go on a diatribe to move the needle for them personally for whatever reason.

  19. I've been thinking that Riley, without Diaco, would be no worse than 2-2 right now. That Diaco hire was suicide. Banker looks like Einstein compared to that guy.

  21. For some of you younger folks, Tom Osborne was notoriously pleasant and consistently won 9 games, but there were many years in his first 20 seasons when the fanbase grumbled about those 9 wins not being enough. The only difference: no internet.

  22. By in large JJ, you looking past his demeanor the first couple of years, isn’t an unusual sentiment. We all, fans, administrators, past players, were starving to taste what once was a given. Most, either turned a blind eye to it, were not fully aware of it, or simply thought with time, he would grow out of his childish behaviors. But you are right in mentioning that his losses were upstaging his wins.

  23. I agree. He even gave the guys a chance to correct their mistakes. He didnt pull them after 1 or 2 mistakes. He pulled those guys after they showed an inability to stop making the same mistakes.

  27. The sexual assault accusations are a serious , possibly criminal thing that needs to be investigated properly. I believe they purposefully weren’t, and aren’t going to be, which is wrong . That is only one reason Kavanaugh should not be handed this job though . I recently had a job interview, where three people peppered me with questions. I was expected to answer calmly , thoroughly , truthfully , and articulately to have any chance of getting the job . If I would have yelled at the interviewers, given purposefully evasive answers , accused them of conspiring against me , couldn’t remember key details about myself , or even outright lied on some things (as Brett did ) I certainly would have been eliminated from consideration . I’m sure there were many other qualified applicants for the job I applied for, as there are many Judges suitable for the SCOTUS so there’s no reason to give the job to anyone but the best candidate . Unfortunately nothing matters but the GOP and Trump getting “their boy” on the court and furthering their agenda , so that’s whats going to happen .

  31. Frost would have more wins this season if Riley was here. Does that count as an answer?
    2 points
  32. I'll give that question an LOL. Despite the current season's performance, our coaching search to get Frost was about as perfect as one could hope for, and his resume indicates that the sky is the limit, even though we have a deeper hole to get out of. Tennessee's coaching search was a massive clusterf@#k. And quite honestly, when it comes to college football royalty, Nebraska is much more prestigious. Tennessee is high on the list of total wins and has a national championship in their trophy case, but when Nebraska is back, we are a main-event program, meanwhile Tennessee at their peak still belongs on the undercard.

  33. Even if Riley would have been 3-1 at this point (highly doubtful, but just hypothetically), he would still be the wrong guy for the job, because we have seen how he coaches and how he goes about his business. We saw Riley's ceiling, and it was soft mediocrity. Being winless this season sucks but the ceiling is much, much higher. If Riley were still here, the players might be more comfortable with the schemes, but those schemes sucked donkey balls anyhow, and we would still have turnovers and stupid mistakes, so I can't imagine it being any better than it is now.

  34. So technically we had "6" spots to fill after Jordy left. We filled two with Dedoch Chan(can play this year) and Dachon Burke(sits out a year). We have since filled 3 more slots for next year in: F- Akol Arop, SG(Juco)- Jervay Green, PG- Mika Adams-Woods. Technically one spot left but I assume Roby leaves after this year. Looking at 2019-2020 we are not very tall. Will really depend on how Heiman and Chan fill out but think we need to go with someone with some height. I wonder if we go Juco or Grad transfer. a 4/5 would be able to start next year no problem. Adding Donovan Williams in 2020 will help and I think our guard situation looks good for the future.

  35. My Madison recommendations... Capitol Square Dane County Farmer's Market: Runs until 1:45pm every Saturday through 11/10 around the State Capitol. Might be worth walking after waking up, since kickoff is not until 6:30pm. Most-popular item there is Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread from Stella's. Restaurants/Bars: Tipsy Cow, Old Fashioned, Graze, L'Etoile, Cento, Coopers Tavern, Tornado Steak House, Marigold Kitchen, Casetta Kitchen, Lucille, Natt Spil, Merchant, Madison's, Maduro, Argus, Great Dane, Ivory Room, and Silver Dollar Though technically on State Street, most would consider Paul's Club, Ian's Pizza (late night), Cask & Ale, and Fresco to be part of the "Capitol Square" area. State Street (on & around) No Uber, taxi or bicycle needed to get from Capitol Square onto State Street. You can walk straight down state towards campus and hit a number of Undergraduate bars along the way... Bars: KK, Chasers, Brats, Double U, Wando's, Mondays, City, Red Shed, Church Key, Danny's, Vintage, Gritty, Plaza, and HopCat. Wouldn't totally place HopCat into the category of "Undergraduate bars," though. Brats is, likely, most-popular hangout for opposing fans. This rings true each time Nebraska fans have come into town. In terms of late night food, there's plenty to go-around, but my favorite is Ian's (second location) and Paul Pel'Meni. Campus There are two student unions at UW-Madison. The one closest to Camp Randall is Union South, which was completed in 2011. The well-known, more-popular is Memorial Union along Lake Mendota. For every UW alumni, sitting on the Terrace with a pitcher of beer and listening to live music is a favorite memory. Alumni Park was completed last year, helping to the make the Terrace even more-aesthetically-pleasing. Bascom Hill is worth walking. Right next to Memorial Union, if you stop there first, and Abe Lincoln statue at the top is situated in front of Bascom Hall. Gives you a beautiful view of downtown. Some might remember this setting for College Gameday. Observatory Hill, a few minute walk past Bascom Hill, overlooks Lake Mendota. Henry Mall received quite the makeover and should be within sight when walking towards Camp Randall via Johnson and/or University. Willy Street About a mile of east of downtown, but quick-growing area with a number of bars/restaurants. My three favorite places are A Pig In A Fur Coat, Weary Traveler, and Umami Ramen & Dumpling Bar. Breweries Madison: Karben4, Working Draft, Funk Factory, Ale Asylum, Next Door, One Barrel, Great Dane and Vintage (brewpubs), and Giant Jones Outside of Madison: Octopi, Capital, Lone Girl, Sprecher, Wisconsin Brewing If you want to go a bit further, New Glarus is about 30 miles and one of Wisconsin's well-known breweries. People go nuts for Spotted Cow. It's nostalgic for me, but I don't think it is any better than above average. Gameday Personally find Madison's gameday to be unique. Camp Randall's setting in the middle of a neighborhood limits immediate parking, though there are small lots and plenty of lawn space. Off-campus student housing turns into house parties around the stadium and bars/businesses along Regent Street become beer gardens. Few student section "traditions" are Jump Around, 5th Quarter, Wave, Build Me Up, Sweet Caroline, and Shout. Downtown and campus very much intertwine with one another. You won't have issue starting somewhere on State Street and working your way down to Regent Street. Hope everyone has a great time in Madison. I was in Lincoln last season and loved it. Plenty of bars, easy to navigate and clean.

  38. Our scoring defense to date is 38.8 ppg. This same staff at UCF gave up 25.3 ppg across all games in 2017 and a staggering 29.3 at home...my only concern with this hire was bringing on a questionable staff on the defensive side. SF is the man for the job...but he may have to make some staff changes along with time to get the 'culture' back to where it needs to be. I don't want to be too negative but the numbers don't lie. I have no doubt that on the offensive side we are headed in the right direction but the D and ST...my goodness http://www.cfbstats.com/2017/team/128/scoring/defense/split.html https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/opponent-points-per-game
