  1. “Hello high school football player. We don’t know if you’re immediately ready to play college football but we are going to move a guy who will likely be the greatest WR in school history to a different position next year just to make you commit to us.” Seems legit

  2. Remember when HCSF stayed and cleaned the cafeteria with Caleb Tannor's mom? Sounds like the same coach that would go back on promises. https://thecomeback.com/ncaa/nebraskas-scott-frost-won-over-recruits-mom-cleaning-cafeteria.html

  3. I thought Trump was an a$$h@!e for his entire campaign, but I knew it was a schtick. He was playing to crowds for the attention he craves; the job itself he really didn't want. He didn't really have an ideology, other than the enemies of his enemies were his friends. I was pretty chilled when Trump won, but I thought there was a credible scenario where Trump, being both a businessman and protector of his brand, would bring in competent executives to run areas of their expertise, defer to the counsel of the people who gave him his executive summaries, chart a fairly centrist course that included taking on some establishment Republicans, and fulfill his role mostly as a performer and figurehead, which he's pretty good at. When the campaigning was over and the weight of the office settled in, I was pretty sure Trump would tone down the rhetoric and learn on the job. With only modest calculation he could have undermined all his critics by acting Presidential. It could have worked. But from the bizarre choices he made in his first 48 hours on the job, Donald Trump has been worse than I ever imagined. Liberals might seem unhinged at the moment, but in my 59 years on the planet, I have never, ever witnessed the willful dismantling of verifiable facts and basic human dignity going on now. I used to consider the word "fascism" as misused as the term "socialism", and never thought fascism could find an inroad in America, but that's what's going on right now. The GOP can share all the blame with Trump -- maybe more -- but it's inconceivable that history won't question and judge the people who let this happen.

  5. THAT STORY SOUNDS LIKE BIZARRO SCOTT FROST

  6. Which completely goes against Frosts mentality and everything he’s preached to the players and media that positions and playing time are earned, nothing is promised...

  8. Frost promised he was going to move our best offensive player (record breaking Freshman All-American I might add) to make room for a kid who hasn't played a down of D1 ball? Bulls#!t. Total CYA by UK.

  9. Yeah I dont believe that story at all. Goes against everything Frost has done and said to date. Plus lets be real Spielman is what of the best players in the country- but we are going to switch his position to make an unproven high school kid happy. Umm No.

  10. Hey Eye-Roller, Seriously, walk me through the first 48 hours of Donald Trump's presidency, and tell me that's not one f#&%ed-up dude.

  14. We should lock this thread and maybe get our heads out of our asses. It’s one player. Does not make it break this program imo.

  15. I think the debate of whether or not wandale got paid or not will be easy to determine over the next month. If we continue to pursue him and recruit him then I would guess frost did not get a call from a handler. If he stop cold turkey recruiting him I have to think it’s true. Fair?

  17. So youre saying it’s not over and the husker fan base shouldn’t be dragging the kid through the mud...

  18. Just told my tOSU buddy this story and he is now calling him “Whinedale” guys looking for guaranteed starting spots are lazy.

  19. I'm not sure I'd be leaving home after seeing a fan base get so vicious so quickly no matter how good the offense was.

  20. Exactly. It's less believable than Kentucky throwing $100k and a good job at him.

  21. Now a story is being peddled by the Kentucky rivals writers that Frost promised him that Spielman is going to switch positions next year, and that Wandale would start in that position next year. Then, Wandale called on Wednesday to confirm, and Frost denied promising anything, and that's what prompted the switch. What a soap opera. Probably best to move on and focus on the guys that want to be here, like Johnson and Thompkins.

  26. CBS Sports is making predictions for the year (not sure why they picked 37 of them) 23. The biggest jobs to open by the end of March will be: DePaul, Nebraska, Penn State, Washington State and one wild card gig that could create chaos. (Let's see how things go with Billy Donovan in Oklahoma City over the next five months.) https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/here-are-37-preposterously-plausible-and-crazy-predictions-for-the-2018-19-college-basketball-season/

  27. If accurate, the 20% number is pretty staggering. And possibly low, considering the people inclined to lie about how horrible they are. Again, never, ever thought America would be at this place. http://time.com/4236640/donald-trump-racist-supporters/?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=social-share-article&utm_content=20181031&fbclid=IwAR3Xi3_rdPvHN1Kw4ZWMSD0747L61tV1gI87JYjirdkjA4AiUDc8tWgPI-E

  34. On this week's Pick 6 Podcast, McKewon commented that those great Oregon teams Frost worked on had interchangeable guys at the skill positions. There would be a guy who comes out of nowhere and have 4 carries for 110 yards. That's the one thing missing with Frost's offense right now. He wants to be able to sub in guys at the skill positions and not have a drop-off in production.

  35. Starters I thought it looked like Palmer was trying too hard. Copeland looked like we was rushing his three pointers but did look more athletic than last season. Roby looked like he always does - first time I looked up at the score board to see individual stats he had 6 & 6. Watson was good at leading the team, but was trying to prove that last year's shooting was fixed this year (it didn't look like it is). Allen looked good - wish he would be more willing to take his shot when it's there. Bench Heiman looked good, but will need to get stronger when they play B1G teams. Harris looks like he will be an energy/defense guy this season. Nana looked less lost on the defensive end & is still crazy athletic. Borchardt is what he is - looks a lot slimmer this season. Thor didn't look horrible, but probably won't play much. Walk-ons Trueblood's made three was one of the ugliest shots I've ever seen - complete knuckle ball, but it went in. Costello looked like he was happy to finally get some PT. Both looked OK considering they are walk-ons. Overall not a well played game. Lots of room for improvement, but Miles played a lot of weird combinations. Hopefully when the games count, the team will play with a little more intensity & Miles will stop experimenting on line ups.

  36. I've explained this to you before. I'm not saying Trump is like Stalin. I'm saying the idea that people are being unfair or biased because there aren't an equal number of people supporting/against Trump is not based in reality or on any understanding of what those words mean. I used Stalin as an example because it should be an easy example to help anyone to understand.

  37. The bridge is burned because he said he was committed to us yesterday, and picked a different school. It is time to move on to the next prospect. Frost wants players that are all in on Nebraska and are not wavering. He will find someone who sees where this program is going and thrive in this offense.

  38. Remember when DPE destroyed his knee jumping to celebrate a Td? If I'm Frost I'ld kindly ask my players not to do random back flips during the season

  39. If the story is true, and Frost told that guy to " go **** himself".... Well that's just bad a$$, and makes me appreciate Frost even more..... The only thing that would make it better is if Frost spit a little dip in an empty water bottle before he said it.

  41. I'm not so sure about the bolded. I don't want to pile on Riley just because of the stain that his coaching left on the program, and yeah he is a nice guy. But many of the values from participating in sports include: hard work, discipline, and accountability. Riley did not teach those things (not very well, anyway). I'm not sure what I would expect my own kid to learn if he played for Riley.
