  1. Do you have multiple personalities. In one thread you are making posts that you can’t trust Frost to win any Big Ten games, but then you make this post where you expect NU to win out. I almost think you are just making this post to be even more fake mad if NU does lose one of the last 3 games.

  2. Not to be a wet blanket, but this is the worst Husker offense of the Scott Frost era.

  3. You can always use more talent We don't have as much talent as Ohio State or Michgan and probably never will We have enough talent to be competitive with anyone on our schedule We proved this yesterday when we played toe-to-toe with a Top 10 team on the road despite not really playing all that great There are things that need rebuilt. But the biggest part of the rebuild was accomplished with the hiring of a new coaching staff. The next biggest part of the rebuild is between the ears and it is well underway With another recruiting class, another off-season in the weight room and nutrition table and another spring practice and fall camp to get all the schemes completely installed, we will barely remember 2-7 next year.

  4. In hindsight I like the call even more. Frost was trying something bold to try and win the game. The onsides kick didn’t event cost the team anything, because the defense stopped Ohio State on the ensuing drive. The onsides kick didn’t lose NU the game yesterday. If anything it was dropped passes by Spielman and Ozigbo in the 3rd quarter that doomed the offense and the team.

  6. We realize that you expect Frost to get everything done yesterday and know the outcomes of events before they happen but unfortunately that isn't realistic, no matter how many times you try to act like it is.

  7. To be even more fair, Caleb Lightbourn is a punter handling KO duties because the scholarship kicker isn’t good enough.

  8. I wonder how things would have been if JD catches that pass for a TD and the Skers go up two scores.

  9. Yesterday, our much maligned defense played about as well as Ohio State's defense, and our offense was just as high-powered as the #10 team in the nation. Both teams had turnovers and penalties, and the game didn't hinge on any blown calls or perceived bias. Less comical special teams play and one receiver's more outstretched hands and Nebraska beats Ohio State in Columbus. I didn't get the feeling Nebraska was pulling out all the stops, playing over their heads, or just getting lucky. Ohio State didn't look really sharp, but they had two weeks to prepare, a halftime to make adjustments, and a huge motivation to stay in the playoff hunt -- including style points. I guess what I'm saying is....maybe we're that close. It's not a major rebuild, nor is Nebraska unable to attract competitive talent, since the same personnel gave a very deep and recruit-laden Ohio State all they could handle. I think defense wins championships and we can definitely improve there, but also....one quarterback in the right system has often changed a team's fortunes single-handedly. As 2-7 seasons go, I'm definitely engaged.

  10. I said it after Colorado and I'll say it again. This team is going to be good. We can quibble over coaching decisions, talent levels, etc, but I think we can all agree that if you take last year's team and Ohio State blocks the punt and scores a TD to make it 9-7 they wouldn't have recovered. The future is bright, and honestly the near future doesn't look too bad. I was fully prepared to get owned today, instead I was frustrated we didn't pull out the win. A couple of dropped passes and missed tackles and maybe we blow them out. That is where Frost has this team.

  11. We don't, but one of the best things for next season would have been all the extra bowl practices. Sitting around thinking isn't as beneficial, or as fun.

  12. Nebraska's yards of total offense yesterday was... 450

  13. Start by going 1-0 next week. Can this team continue to win the ones they are supposed to, like their other two wins. Illinois is coming in high after replicating our game against Minnesota pretty much. Let's beat A.J. Bush then get on to the two tougher ones. That said I think 2-1. This mark would also give me a good deal of optimism heading into the office season.

  15. As of Nov. 3 there are 97 teams that need between 0 and 2 more wins to be bowl eligible or get to 5 wins and are ahead of us in APR. 48 of the 97 are bowl eligible now. 29 are 1 win away. If we consider 5 win teams ahead of us in APR as bowl eligible: 52 of the 97 are bowl eligible now. 29 are 1 win away.

  20. If we had a kicker who was routinely kicking it out the back of the end zone, that would be great. But we don't. Why would you doubt he was supposed to squib it? That's what most teams would do in that situation. And it wasn't the first kickoff after the failed onside kick. We also kicked off after a TD with 4:45 to go in the half. It landed on the 3, so that's why we couldn't assume he'd kick it deep into the end zone. The squib kick was the correct call, especially with how our coverage teams have been this year. Lightbourn attempted exactly the type of kicks that Frost wanted. They just didn't work out as planned.

  21. Oh boo hoo, your 5 star talent isn't playing up to their level yet. I don't mean to be a smart a$$ but we're also in perpetual transition, and have been for years.

  25. Two things: the first half of the season, the offensive scoring output wasn’t matching the yardage, and while NU has a lot of skill players on these lists, the linemen aren’t showing up.

  26. Sharp and Benning were saying yesterday that NU’s current talent is like a 5 or a 6, while Michigan and Ohio State are like a 9 or 10. If Frost can get NU to an 8 in terms of overall talent, Frost’s offensive scheme can lead to easy wins for most of the schedule and allow NU to be competitive against the top teams on the schedule.

Moral victories are for losers. 2-7 You're not smart enough to understand what I'm saying Versus Can you not see the progress the team is making? 29. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the botched onside kick didn't even hurt us, didn't Ohio State go for it on 4th down and come up short?

  30. I am not a technical observer, but it seems the offense has been expanded quite a bit since the first game. I feel like that is a sign of very good coaching.... bringing your team along as they are able rather than throwing everything out there in desperation.

  32. Or poorly thrown bullets to close receivers. Martinez still has work to do with touch. But they're ALL reasons for losses, not just one thing or another.

  33. I learned that this offense is fun to watch and the wrinkles that they are able to come up with are awesome. Favorite play was after running the swing pass out to the edge a few times, they gave the same look but instead of Allen blocking he went out for a pass. That edge defender completely thought he had avoided Allen only to have him running down the sidelines with the ball. If there is one play alone that gives me confidence in the direction of the team, it's that one. This staff can scheme with the best of their profession.

  37. I'd like to say yes, but MSU and Iowa have very good run defenses. I'm not saying we can't throw the ball, but our offense right now is really based around the running game and throwing it when and where we want, so it's hard for me to be confident in saying we win both.

  40. I thought we had improved a lot, now I know we have. Also, I didn't learn this 'cause I already knew it, but Husker "fans" who try to downplay anything positive by saying things like "OSU obviously isn't a top 10 team this season" are really annoying.

  41. We aren’t on the football team. It doesn’t effing matter if we talk about possibilities, and talking about them doesn’t mean we actually think they’re going to happen. Stop being wet blankets. I thought with my little message in the OP it would prevent useless comments like this.
