  1. Love that for him. Absolutely hate that its for the Patriots.

  2. The Black Israelites were whackjobs, offensive to the core, saying crazy s#!t to both the Native Americans and the Covington kids. As Knapple mentioned, it's Westboro Baptist level agitation....it needs to be ignored, but it's hard. If you haven't watched the video with that context, you don't get the situation. Another day on the D.C. Mall. So it turns out the Covington kids were put in an awkward position and behaved with some restraint, but also looked like smug teenagers because that's who they are. Phillips has admitted he was the one who stepped into the situation, and from my understanding he has absolved the kids from much of the mischaracterization that went on when the internet blew up with predictable outrage. He seems to be a genuine peacemaker. Maybe it should blow over, and I'm sure something outrageous is going to happen this afternoon to push it off the cycle, but I"m still wondering about the adults who put a bunch of white minors in full MAGA gear and bused them from Kentucky to Washington DC for a rally designed to disrupt a Woman's March timed around Martin Luther King's birthday.

  3. Well....even if I remembered his name I wouldn’t put it on a public board without his concent. Kind of a reduculous question that only indicates that you don’t believe me. First if all, I have never sat in mass with a priest ranting about politics. So, no...the sermon was not all specifically about the refugees on the southern border. What was talked about was how we as Christians are called to be compassionate people and not just towards other Catholics and Christians, but to everyone. At that point, he gave examples which included people in need like refugees. Contrary to popular belief, priests don’t spend their whole time ranting about politics and condemning everyone except fetuses.

  4. Wasn’t trying to get under your skin. Just like pointing out how Liberals like to believe they are morally better than those who disagree with them. Generally the first thing they do is use the racist card.

  6. So what was the foul called on Allen when the Rutgers guy flew in and jumped all over his back? Just because he's reckless and almost falls on his head doesn't mean he gets bailed out.

  8. My big issue here is that the church group would consider Donald Trump and MAGA synonymous with their supposedly Christian values, when nothing about the man or his administration is remotely Christ-like. The adulterous porn-star banging playboy has made boilerplate pro-life statements to get some love from his base, but that's it. Also, there's not a single Covington student in that video who is capable of getting pregnant.

  9. Nice snarky reply. I normally enjoy talking football with the fine folks on this board, but apparently there are bullies here who are anti-Catholic or are intolerant of differing viewpoints (dare mention of other viewpoint is slippery slope lol). My teaching to the "class": Go back a re-read my comment. It said: 'from conception TO natural death" that implies respect for human life at all stages of life. I'll be sticking to other venues where hatred isn't so prevalent with its members. Never thought I'd get this level of bashing from Husker fans and I am sure when I sign off you'll continue the anti-catholic bashing and be proud of it.

  14. This is just brutal to watch. The offense is just pass it around the perimeter for 15 seconds and then someone tries to play hero ball. And then we have no bigs, so they destroy us in the paint to get extra opportunities to score.

  15. Honestly...if that is really your view...you must walk around naked. Most of the s#!t we wear is made by companies with "immoral practices" Or maybe your make your own clothes and if you do...I could use a nice blazer 42 long, in a dark blue.

  19. I really don't know. One thing I've been trying to figure out is if Frost uses a set order of preference or more of a tiered system. That is, obviously they have guys they want more than others. But if two guys are fairly close, do they figure either will be fine or do they really push harder for the one they might like slightly better. It kind of seems to me that they go with more of a tiered system but I'm not sure if I'm just making that up or not.

  20. Well, he signed in December, and Frost and co had to know that. It wouldn’t make much sense for them to back off recently, since they’ve know for a month that he’s already signed.

  21. Just to add some more info to this ugly situation. While not on the front lines, I have several friends that are Cov Cath alumni and/or their boys attend there currently and a couple were at the March 4 Life rally. My son would have attended Cov Cath if not for a work relocation. My friends were calling for the truth and both sides to be heard at the inception and were met with vile & condemning remarks. The news headlines labeled the 17 year old as "mocking" "taunting" "intimidating". I have seen twitter posts with the kid's picture that said "the most punchable face in America". People attacking the kids said "he looked smug" or "he looked" this or that. Do people know how wrong that is? He is 17 and most of the kids I knew that go to that school live a pretty sheltered life (middle to upper middle class) and in his statement said he had never encountered a protest situation. He looked uncomfortable and just smiled for a couple seconds at the Indian Elder. His statement said by smiling he wanted the elder to know he meant no harm. My son is 14 and in high school and I am 100% sure that if someone came up to him in that situation, he would have just stood there listening to the drum beat hoping an adult would step in and help. What led to the elder and his drum were the black Hebrew group hurling insults at the boys waiting for their bus. Now, when you have 100 or so teens waiting around, I am sure they were not sitting there quietly admiring the scenery. They probably were loud and to adults seemed like obnoxious teens. The black Hebrew groupl called the boys "crackers" "incest babies" "racist" and called one of the black Cov Cath students the N word. In response, the boys asked an adult for permission to do school cheers. Cov Cath is a school with a lot of school spirit. This probably agitated others as well and that's when the elder intervened. The indian elder's later account said he needed to step in to save the black Hebrews from the "beasts" (aka Cov Cath boys).

  22. That is kind of part of the problem. Not changing for the sake of not changing. I mean, it is pretty clear both people are the worst ever at trying to diffuse a situation. They might as well have been yelling "I am not touching you, I am not touching you, I am not touching you" like little kids do in the back seat of a car on a road trip. If anything, the more video that comes out (there was another really good one today that came out) show even more how most of us (myself included) really rushed to judgment on this.

  25. There's a longer video that clearly shows these guys instigating. Which is what they're known for. They're a radical bunch of rabble-rousers. They're somewhat analogous to the Westboro Baptists in how they like to goad people into reacting to their nonsense. Eh. His explanation for his involvement is that he was separating the boys from the Black Israelites, but even accounting for his religious practices, drumming right in that MAGA kid's face probably wasn't the best method of separating those groups.

  27. I hope people who don't want officials to "decide the game" with a call late in the game remember this. Officials can "decide the game" just as much with a non-call as they can with a call. You make the call if/when it's there. Doesn't matter if it's the first two minutes or the last minute.

  35. Right, that's why I've been watching the average rating more closely than the class ranking - this year's class is going to get a bump in the rankings just from being a bigger class than usual. Really, we're just trying to make up for lost ground due to Riley's 2017 class being such a bust. But as someone else mentioned, at least we're not just looking for warm bodies this time of year, like we have in some years past. I keep talking about how we're basically the top of the second tier for recruiting in the Big Ten: consistently ahead of most, but still well below Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. All but a few schools in the conference average between about 85.5 and 87.5 on 247's composite. On that scale, we're looking pretty good at 88.4 - best average since at least 2011 (though I'm pretty sure there's some grade inflation going on). But then you look up at the top guys. Michigan at 90.4, Penn State at 91.6, and Ohio State at 92.3. We're good, but a long way from joining the big boys. If anything, though, I think this recruiting class is impressive just for being this good despite the fact that we're coming off back-to-back 4-8 seasons. What will this staff be able to do when they've got some winning seasons at Nebraska to point to?

  37. Ok. I still don't remember any of this specifically pertaining to the Obama administration....like the rumors about the land in Montana. But, there have been preppers around for long before Obama was in office. I'm also not quite seeing how anything preppers were doing has anything to do with Obama....or, are you saying it was TRUE that Obama had purchased land in Montana to imprison the religious right?
