  1. Because it’s the off-season and everyone is bored AF.

  2. I think it is unfair to speculate about him because Moos hasn’t made any announcements yet and back in the old days we would wait for the newspaper to tell us something. oops, wrong Miles

  5. One of the dumbest words used in these discussions. Just because someone isn’t supporting a coaching change.....they are apologizing for the coach? Doesn’t make sense. Even though I really enjoyed watching the last four games, the last half of the season isn’t forgotten. From what has been said publicly, by both the ad department and miles, I think there has already been a discussion where miles knew he had to have a real special Cinderella ending to the season where we qualify for the tourney and win some games, or he will be replaced. Everyone knows the reality. The only reason he’s not fired yet is because he will coach the NIT if they get in. And, why not, the new coach is probably still coaching too and the players want him here.

  6. Man this has been pretty scary. I have family that had to evacuate. Lots of displaced animals too. One confirmed death. Sad. Nebraskan's are in my thoughts today. Nebraska farmer is killed trying to rescue someone in state's worst flooding in 50 years

  7. This is like people asking about Mcquitty. Dude is young and has only had a year on campus. Give him some time he still has 4 more seasons of elgibility for us.

  8. I think it's going to be incredibly difficult to justify retaining Miles: - he finished 12th or worse in five of his seven seasons at Nebraska - his record is .500 in those seven seasons - in a clear 'make or break it' year, with essentially his most talented roster at Nebraska, they fell apart The performance evidence is largely against him. If people didn't like Miles as a person, would they be OK with these results? And the upcoming NIT is a very small portion of the overall body of work. Does any result there significantly alter perception? There's really no excuse for a program with Nebraska's resources and capabilities to have never won a tournament game, and to not make the tournament on a somewhat consistent basis. Is Miles the guy to make that happen? The evidence suggests no.

  9. Are all the good feelings gone from the big Rutgers win and Maryland upset? Just curious if anyone still thinks the tide has turned to keep Miles? I personally dont understand people turning business into a good guy debate. Some think miles is a nice guy and tries hard so we should continue to pay him millions even though he doesn’t produce? There was Riley apologists too. Its business. You don’t produce your fired. It’s simple.

  12. Not even close. Farley was so explosive you didn’t even call a play, he just ran to the spot and if a QB was standing there he clobbered them and if a punter was there he clobbered them, too. There were no fumbles when he played because by the time you noticed the ball was missing he’d already scored. It’s not diminishing of current Huskers to say these things because it’s just no comparison. Insane explosiveness and an absolute nose for the ball. He didn’t make tackles, he made plays.

  14. What’s funny/sad is that these are the same damn arguments made 100 years ago (technology aside) by conservatives—only instead of Muslims, African countries, and Middle Eastern refugees, it was the Chinese, Germans, and Jewish religious community. I mean, FFS, an irrational fear of German immigrants by conservatives in the US Government is part of the reason the United States stayed out of WWI as long as we did (the other being the money we were making hand over fist by trading with both sides of the war). In short, history has proven this fear mongering was without merit 100 years ago, and it’s still without merit.

  15. I wonder how many other previous Husker players lost every single game they played in. I can't imagine there are many players out there like that.

  16. I guess I don't see any issue generally wondering how a certain player is doing. Seems like a fair talking point. Unless OP has a habit of bringing up Jones... kbb always thought Taylor wasn't getting a fair shake, so that was just irritating. I don't think that's the case with Jones (just as I didn't think that was the case with Taylor). As a general rule of thumb, OP, not hearing anything about a specific player likely means they haven't made a noticeable impact yet. Or, they haven't made an impact relative to the standard of other players being talked about. He's a young player and it might take him some more time to develop.

  21. Agree. If we had a qualified alumni I would be on board. Like frost was in football. I dont see lue as qualified. No idea if he can recruit, no idea if he can coach at the college level. Honestly who knows if he can coach at the pro level- we all know LeBron was running that team

  22. This is a general comment, because it isn’t just you, but I don’t understand why people get attached to certain players before they ever do anything on the college level. Maybe he just sucks at this level. Or maybe he’s gonna be really good this year. But he hasn’t done anything, so I don’t get why quite a few people ask about him. At least with the kbb candyman guy Taylor was from his high school.

  25. I would love to hear the "eyerollers" thoughts on how the American electorate is engaged and informed. To be clear, my comment wasn't partisan. American voters are swayed by simple s#!t. Hell, the biggest news the last 36 hours is that Booker is dating a movie star. My god...

  37. There was a lot of love and excitement for Beto when it looked like he might have a chance beat Cruz. But the blowback I've been seeing the last two days is pretty large and negative. On a national stage he's a lightweight and his voting record is full of sell-outs to the usual suspects.

  39. Wasn't that the college he initially committed to out of high school? Interesting to have come full circle. Well said. I think recruiting coordinators are pretty savvy and it wouldn't take a lot of research to put together a pretty good idea of why he didn't succeed at Nebraska. All evidence suggests Scott has an open, competitive and amicable culture. You put in the work, earn your spot and you'll play. Ozigbo is a poster child for that type of development.
