  1. I remember when Jesus said if that bitch slaps you, punch that f#&%er in the throat and cap his knees. That's one of my favorite versus in the Bible actually.

  2. I find it sadly hilarious that people think the mainstream media and Deep State are making up lies to frame Donald Trump. Has there ever been a more unfiltered President in history? If you want to know why Donald Trump is a danger to everything he touches, you can go straight to his public record. The verifiable financial history, the litany of lawsuits, the recorded public utterances, the spontaneous tweets, and his own autobiography. The media didn't make this s#!t up. If anything, it gave him far too much free publicity. What Donald Trump faces are the direct consequences of everything he's said and done. It's the conspiracy of a narcissist who prizes loyalty but trusts no one.

  3. For a bunch of people who supposedly reject the politics of victimhood, conservatives sure spend a lot of time whining about being victims. What I'm gleaning from this conversation is that apparently it's OK for POTUS to be a dirtbag human being who actively spits on the ~60% of the country who doesn't like him and lies like the rest of us breathe because he's merely defending himself and his followers from unjust coups by the wacky Socialist lefties. Is that about right?

  4. He's objectively several of those things. Are you snowflaking on me now and trying to police thought because people were mean to Trump? I don't pay much attention to liberal assassination porn, whatever that is. I do find joking about people getting killed is in poor taste - like that time Trump joked 2nd Amendment supporters should "do something" to his opponents. Besides all of this, I'm a private citizen. There's a difference between me expressing any opinion on POTUS and POTUS suggesting intelligence agents are guilty of treason. Or any other the other vile, toxic stuff he's spewed. He's got a much bigger pulpit than mine here on Huskerboard's P&R.

  5. letting them all come back to the closed russian safehouses in the us.....giving syria to the russians, trying to get us out of nato for russias benefit, easing sanctions, expelled a bunch of russians but let russia immediately replace those positions that were expelled, etc....

  7. No, it is not. Fed. R. Crim. Pro. 6(e)(3), aptly titled Exceptions, explicitly lays out how Grand Jury disclosures may be made.

  8. Well the literal part is how DO you fund the wall, and it literally comes from taxpayers, and it's literally not the $8 billion figure bandied about during the shutdown, it's literally closer to $50 billion to complete, not counting perhaps a half-billion a year in new maintenance, personnel, and oversight costs, and of course our billionaire businessman doesn't demand a cost/benefit analysis like any of his peers, possibly because it would blow up some myths about the supposed immigration crisis, not to mention the hidden costs, chronic vulnerability, and poor track record of 2,000 mile border walls. He literally loves the idiotic "build the wall!" chant he stirs up at rallies, by people who literally don't understand the issue. The people who will profit from building the wall are a handful of contractors, paid with money pulled from government agencies like FEMA, who would otherwise waste it on Nebraska farmers trying to rebuild their lives and businesses after a historic flood. He is literally the worst President in history.

  12. Pretty well, thanks. It turns out less than 1% of Americans fell into a gray area where they were dropped by existing health plans that did not want to include the ACA option, or did not comply with ACA standards (i.e. they were pretty crappy plans to begin with). The other 99% of Americans were allowed to do whatever they were doing before Obamacare came along. 30 million Americans were able to get previously unavailable health insurance, especially those with pre-existing conditions. Those who refused health insurance faced a small penalty, not unlike drivers who refuse to carry automobile insurance -- a practice never accused of socialism. Of course it would have all worked better with a stronger buy-in and less sabotage from people screeching blatant untruths like yourself. But I've given up on you having even a moment of doubt and reflection.

  14. Assange is bizarrely pro-Democrat when it comes to American politics. But his reasoning is convoluted. There's more from the chat in the link. He didn't like Clinton, but felt more of an affinity to liberal politics, and thought that a GOP president would solidify the liberals into a more effective curb on Republican misdeeds around the world. It's a pretty odd way of going about promoting a liberal agenda. Personally, I think Putin and other world leaders found Assange to be a useful idiot in their anti-American agenda. He helped them get Trump elected, which has had a disastrous effect on America's standing in the world, our economic viability, our political influence, and our standing with our allies. Assange may not have wanted any/all of that, but the chess players found him to be a useful pawn to those ends. And here we are.

  16. And in this role he wouldn't have to do much (if any recruiting). Hoiberg will have the new guy from St. Johns and Armon Gates handling most (or all) of the recruiting. This is basketball, so the team is looking for 3-5 new recruits each year. That can be done with 2 assistants.

  20. I think I'm the de facto HuskerBoard custodian of Rep, since I have data going back to 2010, the first year we started the Rep thing when IP Board added it to their base package. My reliable historical data dates from about 2012 when people started asking questions about Rep and I, in response, started keeping a bit of track of it. What you're saying here is not exactly accurate, as it doesn't account for years when we only had 10 Rep to give per day, or 50, or 100, as decided by the Admins, and announced by @AR Husker Fan, who I don't think most of the people you're citing even know. Back in the day people would just respond to something they agreed with with "+1" or something like, and hitting the rep button wasn't really a thing. So there are stages of Rep based on a few different factors, including a person's longevity, their post count, the amount of Rep we could give per day, etc. It's all fluctuated wildly over the past nine-ish years. I don't have my data in front of me as I reply to this, but off the top of my head, @Guy Chamberlin has a really good post-to-Rep ratio, as does @Ulty, as does @Ads. Weird that the reference links stop after five in a post. Again, off the top of my head, @BigWillie has a really good post-to-Rep ratio, and I don't think he's even in the top 75. @Nexus used to be up there, too. Not sure where he is now, since he's barely posted in five years. The reason we have data on the top 75 or whatever it is is because when we changed to this version of the board about three or four years ago, I asked @Mavric to increase the reporting for Rep to more than the default 10 or 25 or whatever it was, because on a bi-monthly basis I've been keeping track of this stuff for a bunch of years. Year by year, BigRedBuster, Moiraine, me, Landlord, zoogs, and a few others have pretty good post-to-Rep ratios. Those stats will be skewed in favor of people who joined in the last, say, five years when Rep increased to 100 per day. All that's to say that there are basically tiers of people with good rep ratios based on their join dates in relation to Rep-per-day amounts. But it's important to note that someone like Mavric, who does a TON of basic info-posting and other mundane tasks that increase his post count, but don't necessarily always result in +1s, won't ever be up there on a post-to-Rep ratio, but who are very important to the board, won't be counted. A lot of the Mods fit that category, but Mav is the most obvious of them. So Rep ratios are nice, but they need historic context.

  21. Basketball programs only sign 3-5 players per year. Gates can focus on the high school kids while the guy from St. John’s (sorry I don’t remember his name) will focus on the transfer market. Fred will be the closer when guys are brought to campus. NU will rarely compete with the top programs for the same players, but they can get the guys who are a rung below.

  24. I really don't think we need to worry about how Mo is going to be able to pay a lawyer. Also don't think it will be any sort of NCAA issue. Lawyer can bill him the going rate with the understanding it will be paid at a later date (maybe 4 or 5 years later), possibly accruing interest along the way. It's not an NCAA violation to not pay a bill or to pay it late and I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to find a suitable lawyer that would understand his earning potential down the road is probably pretty good....or a lawyer that doesn't really care if he ever pays the full amount. But man I love the off season.

  26. I don’t get it. The NCAA is stopping him from getting something he would never have gotten without being a football player, so they’re not really getting in the way at all. I think it’s messed up that $ can determine whether you get a fair trial and what your sentence is, but the NCAA didn’t cause that.

  27. for the record, I've always liked the state of Minnesota and pretty much every Minnesotan I've met. Never considered "Minny" a derogatory name, just shorthand. For some reason my buddies and I have used "Bracky" as shorthand for Nebraska, though I don't anyone else who does.

  32. Would doubt if he gets a raise. There is 1M for the assistant pool & Abdelmassih is getting 380k. That leaves 620k for the other two positions. If Doc gets a raise from 350k that would leave less than 270k for the third (assumed to be Gates). Gates made 256k last year with a two year contract, so I guess he could stay at 256k, but that seems like a pretty wide pay difference between assistants (380k to 256k).

  35. Thank you! I was cracking up after I asked her and she caught her breath because we kinda got into a little argument while we were packing. We left on Wednesday morning and came back Friday night so we didn't really need to pack much. I had hidden the box in one of my shoes and had planned on putting the shoe in my carry-on. She kept telling me I didn't need a carry-on because didn't have that much stuff. She even picked up the shoes that the box was in and I freaked out a little bit. I ended up bringing my work bag with 2 books I had no intention of reading just to conceal the box.

  37. Well said. This is really awkward territory for setting or following precedent. Daniel Ellsberg looked like a hero. Julian Assange looks like a worm. But they walk a similar line. I remember loving WikiLeaks when they exposed people who held dirty secrets. But perhaps I can't pick and choose my outrage and retribution.

  40. True...they could also take their normal fee and just never collect it. I have a lawyer friend that will tell me all the time that people still have not paid on work he did 3-4 years ago... So basically you charge your normal rate, wait 6 months to send a bill, then wait to worry about the bill, then make contact about setting up a payment plan, and blah blah blah...before you know it Mo is done at NU and no one gives a f#&%.

  41. Why can't the left and anti Trump just admit that they DON'T like the fact that Trump fights back and defends himself robustly. Any conservative in the past always just shut their mouth and got bitch slap by the left time after, all while the radicals pushed their leftist agenda with the MSM complicit to max. I'm so proud of POTUS Donald Trump for standing up for himself and the American Public the way he has. If this bothers people, too bad. He has done more to help the left define themselves to American Public than anyone ever has. They now are all pushing full blown Socialism, which many Conservatives knew they have been for over 20 years when the Clinton's attempt to reform Health Care in 90's. There is no way President Trump is going to change, and I hope he never does. By the way Notre Dame Joe's comments were spot on! The only snow flaking is by the left and their poor feeling. I live for 8 years with the obi-nation of having OBAMA screw this country over. President it teaching conservatives how to fight using the same methods the left has use for generations.

As of now the only ones who will admit this are the serious intel leaders like Haspel or Coats. No mention from Barr. Trump still calls the entire thing a hoax. Which is entirely fair to surmise means he wants their help again next year.
