  1. Is there a more perfect summation of Fox News? You're conflating "views" with posting outright falsehoods. Despite what you think of the majority on this board, there is a tremendous amount of diversity of thought. Lots of us disagree with each other (I know plenty on here who have taken issue with my content.). I have admitted I was wrong (and in some instances personally apologized). What's frustrating is that your own bolded words describe you to a T. You are seemingly unable to think differently when presented links, facts etc. You attack them and scream "Conspiracy." Additionally, when confronted with something, you change the subject to something else entirely, making constructive discourse on a single topic impossible. Your views don't upset people. Saying blatantly false things like "The Mueller Report exonerates Trump" when the Mueller Report literally says the opposite is what's upsetting. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from recourse. No one is telling you not to contribute content. But posting demonstrably untrue things and then saying "I'm finished with this thread" and running off, then returning a day or two later to take more potshots, is not constructive. Are you complaining about people calling you out for your baseless and false statements? If that's the case, then maybe a message board isn't for you. There is not a different standard for you. If there is, it is more lenient. I can't think of another instance where someone was permitted to continually post false content. I've been called out and reprimanded by mods for far less. I have no doubt that you care about our country. We all do. I hope you can see that.

  2. Question. Why do Trump and his supporters conveniently forget who originally paid for the dossier?

  3. Interesting. So, you are able to justify in your mind the Republicans starting the Steele Dossier deal....But....when the Dems got ahold of it, it becomes a huge illegal scandal. Convenient.

  4. Once again, John Oliver finds a way to summarize things better than pretty much anyone else... Mueller Report: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) "The report only vindicates the administration on their own false premises. A year ago, we pointed out that Trump and his team were trying to center the narrative on "collusion," despite the fact that that term has no specific legal meaning in criminal law. But by reframing the investigation that way, Trump ensured that anything short of Mueller publishing 400 pages of text messages between him and Putin gaming out election fraud meant the whole thing was a complete waste of time. So Mueller's report didn't find collusion, and wasn't trying to, because that word doesn't even apply here. And it didn't establish that Trump's team was part of a criminal conspiracy to interfere with the election. But, it found a LOT of other stuff. Because just consider what we learned or had confirmed this week. Russia interfered in our election, and made efforts to help Trump win. And while his campaign did not provably cooperate with Russia, they seemed eager to accept their help in a way that NO one should be comfortable with. Also, Trump may have obstructed justice, and if he didn't, it might only be because people who worked for him ignored his orders. And on top of all of this, the Attorney General, the nation's top law enforcement official, has proven himself to be a dishonest hack. And I'm not saying that any of that is good news, but it is definitely good that we know about it. The point is, having the knowledge that the Mueller Report provides is infinitely better than the alternative, because that knowledge can inform Congress going forward, and crucially, voters a year-and-a-half from now. And the alternative is for America to end up like Michael Cohen - perpetually confused, easily manipulated, and never fully understanding how a guy with a full-time job as a press secretary can also be such a max-jacked, certifiable meat-king (this last line will make sense after watching the segment)."

  10. Ive been saying it for months now, as the older generations start to die off and younger generations have so much debt where they cant help the economy, eventually its going to be bad for everyone. A stimulus like this would be radical, but the end result will help the economy more than hurt it.

  11. So in other words...no. The right wing propaganda machine has done a fabulous job convincing you they are the only source you should even consider. Great job!!! and you’re the one in here that preaches that we all should have an open mind to the other side. Trump was right about shooting someone on 5th ave.

  13. Ok - so who/what is your litmus test on what could be a factual investigation and corresponding report? If the Southern District of NY comes out with indictments against Trump - will you believe them? If the SC rules against Trump, will you believe them? Or do you only believe those who agree with your biases?

  14. Sen Warren proposes that the govt forgive student loan debt of up to $50k if the former student makes under $100k/year. It is prorated if you make over $100k up to $250k/year. I agree that something has to be done. Like immigration, health care, our secondary school system needs to be 'redesigned' for current realities. We were fortunate, both or our sons were pretty smart (one a national merit scholar) and got outstanding grants at a great college. There was no way we could afford the same school and debt would have saddled them for years and years. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/warren-student-loans-121342487.html Also another longshot presidential candidate proposes a more radical plan - forgive all US govt back school debt. $1.5 trillion https://finance.yahoo.com/news/student-debt-cancel-wayne-messam-124020955.html

  15. Good for AOC for campaigning on her beliefs, and for sticking to them. Good for Pelosi for saying those beliefs are not going to be mainstream Democratic ideals. Maybe, if AOC sticks around and earns some bona fides, she should split off from the Democrats and form her own party. America could use a third (or fourth, or fifth) party. There is zero likelihood that two parties accurately represent the diverse ideas & ideals of 350+ million Americans.

  18. Can everyone please stop responding to OP? You're giving "validity" and volume to someone who deserves neither. They are in a state of self imposed ignorance. They're not in touch with reality, and have no desire for a legitimate conversation. Let's move on from the lost cause. If they are ok with what Russia and Trump have done, then they are not an American in my eyes. If Hillary had done this she should be impeached and convicted as well.

  21. And Pola-Gates... And Ty Robinson.. And Caleb Tannor... And Adrian Martinez... And Jackson Hannah... And... do I need to continue? We’ve gone head to head with big time programs and won on the recruiting trail many times despite being 4-8 for consecutive seasons. No, we haven’t gone head to head for a 5 star kid yet so if that’s what you’re referring to then sure we won’t win many of those. I think the staff has picked their battles with the Bama’s, OSU’s, OU and Clemson’s of the world and we’ve had pretty darn good success when we have. We’ve gotten talented hard working kids that fit what Frost is trying to do here

  26. good lord....so if the "radical left" was in charge and doing wrong...it is only right for the radical right to go overboard and be jsut as wrong in the other direction? really? and for fu#5$ sake.....we didn't give iran american money...we gave them back the money we locked up of theirs after the iran hostage crisis....and they were sueing us to get it back in the world court. there was a chance the court would have awarded them twice as much as we gave them back. we essentially settled out of court. or in trump speak....we signed a NDA with iran

  28. I don't know about you guys, but I'm LOVING the great political discourse our Mods are mandating for P&R. Real news is fake. Fake news is real. Millions of people believe lies told by a liar, so their voices have equal validity.

  29. The majority leader in both houses of congress have way too much power in regards to what makes it to the floor to get voted on. I realize they need a way to not spend all their time on BS bills but something needs to change. Maybe something like....if a bill passes one house the other has to address it. Take HR1 for example which was designed to address voting right, campaign finance, and lobbying. It passed the House and then the Senate leader simply squashed it without it ever making it to the floor.

  31. No matter which Dem makes it into office, we'll have tons of acrimony - just look at the Obama years. This idea that one of these candidates is going to magically bring the Repubs into the land of reasonable discourse is just nonsense. Pete, Beto, Biden, etc. who keep saying flowery stuff about unity and continue to have no policy plans are just going to give us more of the same hope without change that we've had for decades. On a side note, I've been coming to the realization that it doesn't matter all that much who the President is. What we really need is a complete overhaul of Congress, especially the Senate. I don't know how realistic it is for the Dems to take control of both houses, but I'd MUCH rather have control of Congress and let Trump remain in office.
