I put his post in this thread because it's sexist. And it has nothing to do with soccer, but rather that he was ok watching the World Cup until he found out it was the Women's World Cup. I understand teach was trying to be funny, but he was just sexist instead. See, we're all supposed to laugh because girls were playing.3 points

Cant decide if this is a pathetic attempt at a cya or a sad attempt to be funny.3 points

Don't know where this is coming from, but Bolt has already been a successful head coach at a lower division and spent a number of years as an assistant coach in Nebraska and aTm...not to mention he's a former DVH player. Bolt has a body of work as a coach that Erstad didn't. This is a good hire...plus look at the success that coaches with similar resumes have produced lately. Yes, Bolt needs to get big assistants, though I would have zero problems with keeping Silva on to help Bolt figure out the lay of the land and handle pitching. I'm curious/concerned that Moos didn't open up the purse strings for this hire, though, as I figured a $1m annual salary would have gotten Childress out of aTm.2 points

So I assume he knows his options are to retake that class or he can't go to an SEC school? Interesting why he would still visit if he knew that. We need more Jucos offering these kids online classes2 points

Something about treasure and trash comes to mind. Good luck to him at OSU, kid was asked to step up a year before he was ready, but never was consistent enough. Comedic how these kids end up at OSU as if it’s a homeless shelter for Riley transfers2 points

Look--even if there are valid reasons why the host did what they did, you ultimately had a business agreement with them that the host failed to honor. Take both refunds, and advise the host that the additional refund is for your time and inconvenience in finding a new place, plus time lost on the trip having to deal with the host and AirBnB. Itemize your time so if something is asked, you can forward it and then cease all communication with the host. Long story short, the host screwed you, and you had to put time and energy into trying to fix this mess the host caused. While some folks may say this additional refund is serendipitous, I say it's deserved considering the s*** the host put you through.1 point

So, you have two refunds? If so, refund the one directly from the host and move on.1 point

This is a good sign that perhaps his public defender is actually doing something more than standing up in the court room beside his 'client' and pleading him guilty. Hopefully he will actually present a defense. Not to be too cynical but in my practice, I have witnessed far too much of this sort of thing so I hope that Coach Frost is keeping aware of things enough to be sure Mo is actually being fully represented and not sold down the river,. On the other side, it would seem that the prosecution has likely not done a whole lot in preparation to have to actually present the State's case and prove him guilty. This is not unusual as many prosecutors simply expect a plea bargain without much real effort or evidence having to be adduced in court. In a case such as this one, the prosecutor also is counting on the defendant to be indigent and therefore under a great deal of personal financial stress from having to travel, skip work, etc as well as the tremendous pressure he must be feeling vis a vis the football team and his college and status therein. Another couple delays in the proceedings will push the matter deep into the fall season and the prosecutor knows this very well. He or she intends to make it as difficult as possible on the defendant to exercise his rights to due process, a fair trial and so on. This is a common practice in the legal process and I personally find it quite disgusting and unethical but it happens a great deal. The right to a speedy trial (6 months from being charged generally) is a Constitutionally protected one but the courts all but ignore it as a practical matter. Continuances and delays are the routine and rarely does a trial ever occur within the 6 months. Defense is entitled to discovery (being given all the evidence the State has or intends to offer to prove or even to disprove their allegations). This is a simple case factually and legally it would appear and there really is no reason why the State would not have any discoverable evidence in hand and ready for the defense to have reviewed immediately after the charge was filed. The defense need not have to wait while the State, who filed this action nearly 6 months ago or so I believe. Perhaps the State of California can't prove what they have alleged.1 point

@knapplc What's supposed to be the thing to watch is that Oklahoma's third-tier media rights expire in 2022, and a new post-2022 deal is supposed to be announced next year. Supposedly Fox Sports is going in hard on that deal to help ease OU's path into the Big Ten and BTN. Supposedly.1 point

I'm currently reading Krugman's book Peddling Prosperity when he talks about how the field of economics changed from the 1960s/70s during Reagan's administration and up through the beginning of Clinton's (it was published in '93 IIRC). In it he makes a distinction between serious academic economists who are concerned mainly with expanding knowledge with painstaking work and a political breed of economists known as "policy entrepreneurs" who use flimsy methods to produce appealing results they can sell to politicians as magic solutions for the economy. He delves into the birth of supply-side economics that Reagan championed and it's wild. Supply side economics wasn't really backed by many serious economists - Robert Bartley, the editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page, largely created the movement himself with an ad hoc group of journalists, political staffers, consultants, etc. with a couple unconventional economists named Laffer (of the famous Laffer curve) and Mundell. Even with the backing of a couple actual economists, supply-side economics was mainly pushed in the pages of the WSJ and magazines rather than academic journals because it's still not taken very serious by most academic economists. It's absolutely nuts that supply-side economics became the entire foundation of modern GOP economic thought. It's only good for those who stand to benefit from the answer always being "cut taxes."1 point

I can not express how tired I am of players getting busted for MJ....then the thread ends up in a multi page thread with people preaching to everyone about how archaic America's drug laws are and how MJ is great and how it does nothing negative to you or anyone else and everyone should live happily ever after in a world where it's 100% legal because I've used it for 10 years and nothing has ever happened to me negatively from it......bla bla bla1 point

I think hypothetically the coaches pictures would be fine but make them tiny and make everything much more horizontally laid out. The flair, the avatar, and donor status for some is making posts much taller than they need to be and looks extremely cluttered. If flair and donor bits were wide and super short it would clean the space up a lot. Something along the lines of this:1 point
