  2. "Nobody with extremely short attention spans reads your posts because they are too long." Fixed that for you. Also thanks for speaking for EVERYONE on this forum, godlike one. (Clearly applies to all who upvoted your comment, and those that roll eyes on this one.) Shoot... I'm the Poster Boy for Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder and I even I can read a longer post.

  6. That makes no sense. We’re still going to keep recruiting other CBs, and Moten wouldn’t have been playing this season.

  7. 1999= Great D but we fumbled going across the goal line. I think we beat FSU or VTech without issue if we had a chance to play them. We go on and beat (dominate) another well respected Tenn team in the bowl game. 82,83,93,99 are obvious. Of those teams I think 82 was the most well rounded team, 83 the most exciting to watch & 93 had the most heart. I'll throw out a dark horse. 1978 - We finally get the OU monkey off our back and then we in the emotional let down, get surprised by MO. If we had beaten Mo, OU wouldn't have gotten another crack at us in the Orange Bowl - which shouldn't have happened. We end up losing 2 games but we may have been playing for it all without that emotional let down against MO. That year Bama won the AP MNC and USC won the coach's MNC. So NU would have had a real shot at it.

  8. At this stage of the game I'll be tickled when we can keep a DB coach for 3 consecutive seasons!

  9. We lowly Mets fans finally have something to celebrate! I don't know if anyone watched the Derby, but Vlad Guerrero Jr. put on an absolute show as well. Had a crazy slug-off with Joc Pederson that took 3 tiebreakers to advance to the finals. Vlad looked a bit tired in the finals. Alonso on the other hand didn't get the best pitching from his cousin - pretty inconsistent on ball placement, but never had to actually dip into his bonus time to knock off any opponent. The rules changes this year were very interesting. Overall it was very entertaining.

  10. This may be my paranoid side coming out, but is there any chance the whole Hillary and "Pizza Gate" thing was planted by Trump people knowing there was real evidence of Trump playing part in a youth sex ring? It makes sense in my mind: create a crazy story about a presidential candidate that is "too crazy to be true" knowing that when evidence comes forward about you there will be a built in defense saying that people said the same about Hillary...

  11. We have 8 weeks left until the first game. 8 weeks of offseason topics left. I'd like to go out with a big one, and see who HB thinks is the Best Husker Team to Not Win a National Title. Now, I know a lot of us might think there is one fairly obvious answer to this question, but we've got 8 weeks left to fill with offseason content, and I'd like to try and stave off the Alternate Uniform/Tunnel Walk/Oh **** Someone Else Got In Trouble topics as much as possible, so I'm asking for nominations for an 8 teams tournament. I'll take the 8 teams that get the most nominations, throw them in a bracket, and have weeklong votes/discussions to see if we can come to a consensus as to which Husker Team is the Best to Not Win a National Title. So, ITT, give me 5 teams that you think would qualify for our mythical tournament. I'll use stats and rankings to seed them, and we'll start the voting in a week. TL;DR: give me 5 teams you think are the best to not win a Natty at Nebraska. I'll throw them in a tournament and we'll vote over the next weeks to find the best because no one really likes talking about alternate uniforms and the Tunnel Walk.

  12. Nixon committed to the coaches last week and made it public Monday. This narrative that he was a back up plan needs to get put to rest. The staff likes both and would have taken both. Although Nebraska on Friday saw three-star Omaha Burke wide receiver Xavier Watts verbally commit to Notre Dame, Nixon said the timing of his announcement to attend NU was unrelated to Watts' decision. "I committed to Nebraska early last week, I just didn't announce it (until Monday)," he said.

  18. Ya, perhaps so ... but most don't get our record wrong with one more lose then we actually had and credit us with a win over Colorado. You have to be pretty clueless in your review when you don't have basic facts down.

  19. I wish him the best. I’m confident the staff put in a good effort (unlike prior staffs) on a talented local player. Will not “catch’em all” too many others factors involved. Winning bowls and winning record is a box the i can’t wait to see checked.

  23. Frosts offense is designed to replace skill players year after year especially if you have a talent like Martinez at QB. The line is a question but we have three returning starters. So, I think the offense will be fine. The Dline should see a massive improvement with the addition of Daniels, more experienced depth and another off season with Duval. Our corners are more experienced and better coached with depth coming in as well. Linebacker and safety are the questions to me. Safety I think the talent is there and we should be fine. The linebacking Corp is really the major unknown. Mo Barry has all conference potential, but the other three positions we need someone to step up and perform. If no one does then the D could get leaky quick. However, I think the potential for major improvement is there.

  24. I think the last 15 years have gotten to you. Don't worry about the offense, last year will likely be the worst offense we have under Frost me thinks. The Dline is said to be significantly improved and the secondary started playing very well towards the end of the year. We are about to see the most improvement in a football team maybe ever here at Nebraska. We are actually developing the players now rather than whatever was going on under Riley. Big jump coming this season. I don't know what that translates into record wise, but we saw it begin to take shape last season and this year it will be fully apparent this is a different team than we have had in the recent past.

  25. Yes, I've been watching some videos of last years games and the D had stretches of being terrible. Our line couldn't stop the run on many occasions, the secondary had lots of missed assignments and penalties, and the pass rush couldn't get there unless we sent in extra players. I think the defense can only improve but they're still a liability until in my mind until they prove they can hang with tough teams.

  31. Notre Dame is one of the few schools where I don’t feel as bad about an in state player leaving. The others are the ones that are elite as far as education like Stanford or Harvard. If a Nebraska kid chooses Harvard I’m never gonna wonder why. And with Notre Dame we just need to make Rudy and Catholicism illegal in the state so kids don’t grow up wanting to play there

  32. I was a member of a message board back about 15 years ago which was run by a Michigan State student. Lots of people on there met each other and became RL friends. (I’m not one of them). Anyhow, he knew this and wanted to quit having the website and everyone begged him to pass the website on to someone else to run. Instead of doing that he deleted the site but kept the URL (which is still unused today) and people created a new website to try to replace it but it hasn’t been the same since. How is this relevant, you might ask (just kidding, no one’s actually read this far). Well, about the time he became an a$$h@!e, he had become a professor at Texas. Everyone becomes an a$$h@!e as soon as they’re associated with Texas.
