  1. It is now blindingly obvious that the head coach and his offensive coordinator don’t know how to call plays. Who knows how to do the job better? We do! The fan base! Speaking for myself as a former Pendragon, I clearly know more than Scott Frost. And all you former 8 man and Class C stars do too. We are all experts. My system uses the wisdom of the crowds. See, e.g., Malcom Gladwell (Gladwell, however, is not from Malcom. He’s from Bassett. Attended Holy Cross church.) Each week the fan base votes on the first 20 plays. Then during the games, we vote on the plays in real time via Twitter. The Huskers will never lose another game. This is a sure thing.

  2. I'm not sure many of them are fans at all or that they were on the ship to begin with. All I've seen for the last day around here is a bunch of whiny a$$ petulant children that don't have 5% of the commitment that is required to even play on the team.....and a whole lotta newbie trolls. Lost a lot of respect for some longtime posters as well. Grown men who seem to think 18-21 yo kids owe them something. Sad.

  3. A bit surprised at the number of fans jumping ship after one frustrating road OT loss.....

  4. Amazing how this mentality is still an issue. This team hasn't earned a f#&%ing thing. Colorado was never just going to roll over for them. Going 4-8 in back to back seasons and then taking your foot off the gas after a 17 point lead is how you go 4-8 again.

  5. We are officially Press Conference U Say all the right things but can’t back it up. We have a captain that’s been here for 3 years and hasn’t learned not to let up in games? Same said captain says the “gut punch” loss to Colorado might be what this team needs. Like beating USA by 14 points wasn’t enough to motivate this team to work harder? This is the type of sh#t that really frustrates me

  6. I admire your courage, OP. I'm not touching a rewatch on this one.

  7. The team's psychology and mental toughness is lightyears ahead of where it was 12 months ago. I think you have to be thankful for that progress. There's progress all around. It just unfortunately didn't translate into a win on Saturday.

  9. I mean I get it - but if you don't want to hear the talk until you see it on the field, the press conference thread on Monday after a loss may not be the place to be.

  10. Is it? Saturday was a classic Husker meltdown against a suspect team with head coach coaching his second game.

  11. Its difficult to say without studying the film. FWIW, some people who attended the USA & CU games have commented that receivers are getting open. Martinez is just not finding them.

  12. colorado has a legit offense and we held them scoreless in the 1st half. without some flukey turnovers by martinez, we win this game easily. heck, if our kicker doesn't get hurt (which almost never happens) we probably win this game. i definitely think we're missing some pieces to be a great team, but i still think we're a bowl team this year with a bright future.

  13. He won't answer the question. Trust me, we all know this type. He pretends that a 50 year old that is taking pictures of a 5 year old girl and selling those naked pictures is the same as a HS girl sending a boob picture... I don't blame him, I would not answer it either. He/She pained him/herself into a corner. He/She also went with the "I hope you are not a parent" card... Dude, I am around HS kids all day long...trust me..."your" little perfect princess...is not what you think.

  16. Well it's hard for them to do anything else at a press conference. I agree we have to see it on the field, but would you rather them just not answer questions?

  18. My thoughts about this board after Saturday's game...

  19. 1st Half Bootle - easy missed tackle on the sidelines Jaimes - got beat bad off the jump where Mills could of had a decent run Barry/Ferguson - not good in space Martinez - fumbled the ball by squaring up on the defender Farniok - got beat for a Mills inside run Offense was pretty sound overall. AM, Mo, and JD played well. Defense did a great job all half. Chin mixed up the calls and we were aggressive 2nd Half Jackson and Dismuke missed tackle on the sidelines Dismuke missed tackle Jackson not taking on a blocker Honas with a big whiff Sullivan missed tackle for TD (17-7) Illegal block stalled the drive for us next series Flea flicker where Taylor got caught looking in the backfield and missed the midfield tackle (17-14). Was a little odd such a delayed blitz by Dismuke on the backed against the goal line Eric Lee way out of position for a big pass play Bulldozed on the next run for a TD (24-21) Martinez held onto the ball too long and fumbled. Short field. FG (24-24) Wandale with a big drop that would have gone to at least midfield Flag on Frost? and then intentional grounding killed the drive Taylor massive whiff on the sidelines Montez with a money throw over Jackson (31-31) Low snap by Jurgens and AM was sacked. Basically ball game I have to say the game wasn't as bad watching it back even though it still stings. I thought overall our OL played alright. The defense wasn't bad until the end with some massive plays given up. Barry did not have a good game. Our DBs had a bad game in regards to tackling. Outside of two blown coverages they did a good job there. D line played pretty damn good and I liked what I saw from Alex Davis and Collin Miller at times. Mo Washington had a hell of a football game. Nothing worse than out playing a team for almost all game and still end up losing. I feel we are better than last year and will bounce back. Frost wasn't overly conservative as I recall watching live outside of the two OT play calls.

  20. So, every 16 year old who has sent nudes to their significant other in high school is a deviant? I'm guessing you weren't in high school with cell phones because based on my experience 90% of my school was a deviant child pornographer by your definition.

  21. I am just glad that some of the folks on this board are not in a position of power. Some people really need a level head to assess the severity of a crime. Also I am tired of people beating the child porn lingo to make this whole thing sound like he is a deviant pedophile

  24. Here is what I do know: Number one - it's not fake outrage. I really do think he is a scumbag for doing it. What you are sick of is immaterial. Number two - I hope you are not a parent. Number three - It has not been proven to be a rape. If you read the posts that is what we were saying. Number four - Yes, it was something he sent, he sent child pornography. Maybe you don't know that a 15 year old qualifies. He is either stupid or didn't care. Number five - Do I think he is a pedo? Not at all by this alone. I do think he is immature and lacks basic sense and morality for possessing and sending child porn. The fact he kept a video like that when she is was that young shows he is a creep.

  25. It's a little peculiar there's no offensive line changes as many have identified it as our biggest issue and we have about 12 guys ready to go according to coach Austin.

  26. If we can load up our offensive line room with recruits like Benhart & Banks and we get guys like that into a culture of weightlifting 12 months a year...and then combine that with skill player recruiting of the likes of Martinez, Washington, and Wan'Dale, we're going to have a good program again. Expectations of being great in year two are really shining through. Thing is, the season's just begun.

  27. Did you really become a member to just post about this?? Pretty sad. Again, Washington wasn't in the video, didn't film the video, and only sent the video back to the girl in the video (who happens to be his ex gf).

  30. I noticed a couple concering lines postgame: 1. Frost thinking that going up 24-0 wouldve emptied the stands and started the blowout. 2. Barry thinking they had it in the bag at half. That they thought they were going to win. I don't like that today Frost doubled down on the idea that they needed just one more score. It's like they are trying to pick the right time to be able to stop trying hard. Just keep playing. If the other team quits, go harder. That's the fun time. There should never be any 'oh we're up by enough we can screw around' fun time. That's not how you win.

  31. I can tell you that if Nebraska scored in the 3rd to make it 24-0. The rout is on. I was in the section near the students and they were all in agreement that if Nebraska scored they were heading out. Some did at half. What an absolute meltdown. I wasn't in love with the play calling in the 3rd. Our defense let up big plays. Such a failed game with Nebraska's fans taking over Boulder.

  32. There are wide open recievers all over the field. I'm not sure what is going on with Adrian, but he has developed happy feet syndrome and looks completely unsure with what to do with the ball.

  35. Why are you still blabbering on about this? He served a half game suspension and now its in the courts hands. In all likelihood it is dropped or settled with community service over the summer. They arent going to ruin this kids life over something stupid that he wasnt even directly involved with.

  36. The defense held up their end of the bargain until they literally couldn't anymore. The offense held up their end of the bargain for two quarters, then came out accomplishing nothing whatsoever and completely leaving the defense out to dry. If we had even half the offensive effectiveness and efficiency to start the 2nd half, Noah Vedral would've been the quarterback in the 4th quarter and the defense wouldn't have allowed half that many points. Like, you say it's hard to blame them because they put up 31 points, but it's hard to blame the defense when they dominated Colorado plenty long enough for the O to put the game out of reach.

  37. Frost didn't do his job Saturday, and he didn't do his job very well the Saturday before. His job performance is clearly within the bounds of fair criticism and it deserves a lot of it after what we just saw. I still love Frost, trust he's the best chance we've got and will get it figured out, but I get tired of the inconsistency of argument fans put forth and the inexplicable nature of what the hell just happened.

  38. Thank you. I basically avoided the board for the last two days because I didn't want to get caught up in the crying fest. I was pissed off enough all on my own. Now, I would rather talk about specifics and what is good and what is bad. You laid out 8 good points of what was good. I think Jurgen's snaps were one of the biggest points. He still had a couple bad ones, but for the most part, 2AM could rely on him getting the ball right where it needed to be. Adrian seemed to check down more and not force the ball in places. The two biggest areas where it seems to me that we continue to struggle is a) inside run game. I'm actually very surprised with this. There just simply isn't anything there and the defense is being able to stop it with just their down linemen. This allows their LBs to flow to the perimeter without fear of giving up the big inside run. If they can figure this out, it will go a LONG ways to opening up this offense. I just can not figure out what the issue is. b) Costly turnovers. And...the biggest frustration of this is that it's coming from our star player that touches the ball on every snap. Damn frustrating. Oh well....this week we have an opponent that we should be able to continue getting better with. Keep building and maybe we have fixed a lot of these issues by mid season.

  44. Nice narrative to spin. Equating what I said to people "debating issues". In case you are unable to tell the difference between that and what many have actually been doing since the game ended.....I'm sure no explanation from me would help. Good luck.

  45. Ya, I've got some ideas what you can do with that finger. FYI- #13 Utah was favored by 22 over NIU and then only beat them by 18, 35-17 at home. I can understand (to some degree) being disillusioned with a game result. But whining that were only favored by so much in an opening line is pretty f#ckin ridiculous. Tells me you just wanna piss and moan.

  47. I like to talk football details after a game like this instead of just dumping out frustration on the team. There was a fair amount of improvement on offense from week 1, specifically: 1. The high snaps were greatly improved. 2. Jurgens blocked better. 3. Mills ran a little better. 4. Adrian didn't throw into double coverage as much. 5. Adrian's completion percentage was better. 6. Adrian threw for more yards. 7. We ran the ball better. 8. We had way more offensive yards. I am really frustrated with Walters & Frost for that third quarter, though. We'd have good first down plays where we'd get the ball outside for 5 yards. On that second down play, stop going empty backfield with five guys wide. Just stop doing that. You need a power run play there on 2nd where we try to smash through for 3 or 4 yards. Also: Adrian does not run that well out of an empty backfield. Stop doing that, also. He runs way better when he has a running back or tight end out front to block for him. Anyway, I like the fact that the offense got serious and fixed almost all of their major mistakes from week 1. That's really important, no matter how mad anyone is about blowing the 17 point lead. We have to have better interior power running in order to put games away; to me that's really the punchline in what happened yesterday.
