It wasn't 20 years ago since we were competitive. People need to stop with this talk. From 2006 through 2012 Nebraska won outright or shared their division 5 of 7 years. From 2013 to present no division titles. 2013 was the end of Nebraska being competitive or building towards anything at all. Assuming 2019 we don't turn it around enough to win the West then we are 0 for the last 7 seasons. TO retired, Pelini operated with one foot out the door his last two years, and we hired Riley who was proven inept yet again. Now the coach of year was hired less then 2 calendar years ago and the ship is slowly turning around. He started 0-6 (continuing a 10 game losing streak), ended 4-2, and with a win tomorrow will be 4-2 to start season 2. We have to be patient, this is getting fixed, we are trending up now. The national media was hyping this team with a cursory review of the situation (as they often do with many teams). What was the Coach to say to this during the off-season? I look for 7-5 or 8-4 this year and a bowl victory. Progress.12 points

This might be a very controversial opinion, but I don't think Nebraska will ever win the big ten east division8 points

Great teams - especially in this conference - are built at the line of scrimmage, and that's been the deficiency of Nebraska teams for 6+ years. Unfortunately, that's also the part of a team that takes the longest to improve and develop, and Frost knows that. Our O-Line is really young this year, and it's become obvious that Frost is willing to deal with the growing pains while those young guys develop and learn by playing the position.6 points

I think the debate of whether frost inherited any good players. I think the NFL draft should answer that.5 points

At the start of the season, I was sitting at ZERO confidence that things would be much better in 2019 than what they were in 2018. Yes, we finished with four out of six wins. In that was Ohio State stumbling around and feeling like they had us beat before the game even started. It nearly cost them. Iowa let up on the gas and we rallied. That nearly cost them. One of our wins came against Bethune Cookman. I watched the Michigan State win during the offseason and they had a ton of opportunities to beat us and didn't. I looked for Nebraska to come out and get some things accomplished on the field. To make me a believer. That started with taking care of business against South Alabama. I mean 42-3 or something. Get the back ups some time. And we know that didn't happen. South Alabama is 1-5. They're not some great team. They scored a combined 9 points against UAB and Memphis. They scored 21 against us. A road win at Colorado would have bene great. We couldn't do it. But the Air Force Academy could do it. Ouch. N. Illinois went as well as I hoped. And, despite a few rough patches, it gave me a small amount of hope. Maybe we were turning a corner. Got the subs in.... but we did play, "interesting" special teams. Then Illinois... for the love of God. Horrible. Terrible. Walking backwards. Sprinting backwards. We barely won. And Ohio State. Just got punched in the face. No push back, at all. Save for the double wing fullback excitement. But that was it. That was all. Now Northwestern. Will we win? I am hoping. But I am remembering Illinois and South Alabama. And I am worried. I want to believe in Scott, but if we get housed by Northwestern, I am going to start having some bad inclinations about where this is going. And our recruiting isn't helping. We scored another three star guy today. Up to 12. Ranked 42nd. That's just not good enough. We heard that Ohio State was ROCK BOTTOM 2.0, but I have to ask, don't you have to go up before you can back down to Rock Bottom. Out of everything that has happened. Not much of it. Almost none. Really NONE. Has given me much hope. Rant Off.5 points

No, I mentioned talking to someone from the staff prior to the visit. Glad you went through all that to come at me. Again, this process is incredibly fluid. Delancy de-committed after the visit, and I am going to say with almost certainty it was because he found a better option. With that said, if Nebraska gets intel that Green or some high ranking corner is extremely interested, by default they almost have to halt Ronald's intended commitment based on what the others value can bring in more ways than one. Remember, there is incentive to bring a 4 star corner who they like over a 3 star corner that they like just as much if not more. In the event that it's Slusher, you're getting a 4 star combo DB from an area you want major inroads in. Nebraska wants to own Tulsa/Broken Arrow. So not only are you getting someone who you think is good, but you're generating a pipeline from an area that is logistical for your team to recruit annually. It's easier to sell Nebraska to Tulsa than it is to Miami despite how important South Florida is. If it's Green Warren from LA, you have been working on this guy for over a year. You like him just as much from a physical standpoint, and you know you can cross train him. He is a higher ranked player, and has relation to a four star WR that is high on your board. You have to play that card. If Delancy committing stops that from happening, the staff would be foolish. Also, Chinander and Frost have executive power over that process. I would not come on here and just make stuff up. I get no enjoyment in doing that, and I cherish this board to not disrespect fellow members and discredit my own reputation. And when I said I don't know whats going on here, I was referring to the post visit news. And if you want, I can provide you with a player who gets to commit based on executive power by the head coach. Hint: Legacy kid with great height for his position.5 points

So, having a little fun on a Friday morning. I'm not saying all of these are going to commit. But, reading recruiting stuff, it appears we at least have a chance at the following: Kaden Johnson Slusher Green-Warren Manning Groce (Committing at 1:30) If they all commit, that would put is at around the 18th rated class with 16 commits. Mavric claims we are looking at 22-25. This would also give us 7 recruits with one being very close to be a .5 points

We are actually 33rd right now. We rank 17th in average star rating at .8905 which is better than last year and the year before that but go off.4 points

This IS the correct analogy with the mostly bare cupboard that this staff inherited. Just the EFFORT you see on the field is an indication of the culture getting turned around.4 points

Nevermind the fact we have stopped the run in every game except last week.4 points

Yep. When I see a commit like Corcoran coming in - a guy that Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, LSU, and USC went after - I get pretty excited. 24/7 Sports ranks him as a 98% and you can see from his build and his attitude that this kid's gonna be pancaking guys. Keep 'em coming. Need to recruit & develop a couple of really strong guards now. I can take losses like last Saturday's when I know we've got these big, strong linemen coming up in the ranks.4 points

The concerning issue for me is that Mueller failed to charge Jr. and Kushner for conspiracy because they were too stupid to know it was illegal, and they couldn't put a monetary figure to it. Will this be the second time that team Trump gets off because we are to afraid to interpret the law? This is an almost identical scenario. They are seeking dirt from a foreign government against a political rival. This is conspiracy! For us common folk ignorance has never been a viable defense, and rarely does the justice system back off when they have to make a difficult interpretation of the law.4 points

Frost said it best in the Illinois post game. He has the evidence to prove a majority of calls go against the Corn Huskers. This conference has made us house rich, but at what cost?? To turn our weekends into a fun get together to drink and watch us get our asses kicked?? Absolute incompetent officiating, rigged schedules, and worst of all absolute boring traditions and teams. The leadership at the University pissed our traditions down the drain, and worst of all cut our lifeline off to the massive population of the south. Texas kids accounted for a large part of the roster and kept our heads above water for a long time. Was playing in the world's nicest stadium for a title game that bad?? The honey moon is long over, it's time to go back. and I'm sorry to any of you too young to not remember the vastly superior story lines we had within the big 12. Cheers I won't log in again.3 points

If I was compiling summaries from 247 and taking credit for them, I'd be telling the members here that Jackson Bratton is a legit get for us. I am selective for a reason and thats because 98 percent of the time, I really don't know. My most "insider" moments here go back to the 2010-2011 years and thats because I knew and grew up with the CA kids on the roster, Jason Ankrah, and believe it or not was a point of contact for Curtis Carter during his recruitment. I had to speak to Joni Duff to get clearance for that, because Curtis and I hit it off through FB, which was an NCAA violation at the time. I can tell you exactly when the recruiting fell off on that. I worked at a Community College here in SoCal and met a bunch of college coaches, camp directors, and recruiting analysts. If I ever speak about the recruitment of kids, it's because I sent out a text asking someone who is in the know. It's through those contacts that I found out about Frost signing with Nebraska, and that it took a little longer than expected because of a staff hold up with Troy Walters. For the rest of the members on this board, I am sorry for divulging all this stuff, and coming off like a name dropping idiot. I hope you guys understand.3 points

Even with the blowout loss, the atmosphere/experience at Nebraska has to blow Iowa St. to f'n Jupiter.3 points

If this class ends as we expect Frost will have completed the best 3 year run of recruiting since TO was here. Don't believe me? Go see where we have ranked every year since 2000. We have never had a 3 year run like this since 247 started tracking in 2000.3 points

I made an account just to reply to this. So in essence you have absolutely no clue what you were talking about and were willing to call a guy Fisher’s #1 target because they moved Simpkins visit back.3 points

I think the problem people are having is that people are conflating a “rebuild” to being a top five program, which yes will take more than a season, to a “rebuild” where Nebraska doesn’t get embarrassed by ranked teams, doesn’t struggle to beat lower level P5 programs (and even poor sun belt teams), and makes progress on ball control and penalties. We should be seeing more of that than we are and in my opinion we are behind on it. And it isn’t explained away by “inheriting a dumpster fire” because one of losses was to a first year coach of a program who also “inherited a dumpster fire” But just because we are behind doesn’t mean we can’t catch up. I just think it does no favors to anyone to justify what we’ve been seeing so far in 2019.3 points

Eric Warfield was a guest on the Saturday Supremacy podcast as he talked about his time at Nebraska, relationship with Scott Frost, current team etc. Really interesting stuff, he called himself the 23rd best player on the team (behind the entire starting 22). Always liked Eric, good dude. 48:00 min mark of show: https://gasnsports.com/saturday-supremacy-inky-johnson-eric-warfield/3 points

The 12's head of officiating is Greg Burks, head of the crew that hated us and would screw us over even before we were heading out. As frustrating as the BIG officiating has been at times it would be worse in the 12.3 points

1. Ban this stooge. 2. F-Bomb the Big 8/Big XII and all that heinous stench that goes with it. 3. No school that has left the stank of Texas has wanted to come back. Not their old SWC brethren nor any of us Big 8/Big XII alumnae that left for better pastures. You can ask Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, Houston, or any of the rest who have left the shadow of Texas BS - do you want to go back? Without exception they will all say no. God, no. 4. Ban this stooge. 5. Don't make me post the articles where the ADs from our former Big 8 "brothers" admit to screwing Nebraska over again. For the umpteenth time. F those guys and all that goes with them. 6. Ban this stooge. 7. (space reserved for things I would say that would get me banned if I didn't have some self-control)3 points

Who has massive deficiencies? Because while I don't disagree that we have deficiencies, people seem to forget other teams have weaknesses too that can be exploited. Turns out NWs weaknesses match up pretty well with our strengths.2 points

So corbin running for 134 yards averaging almost 7 yards per carry for Illinois doesn't count? We gave up like 220 yards on the ground that game.2 points
