  1. This is a non issue. The GOP was in control of both houses under Obama and they conducted investigation into his administration countless times. The Dems forced Al Franken to resign over distasteful photos from years ago. They just had a young congresswoman resign for an affair with a staffer. You tell me who seems willing to hold people accountable.

  2. Speaking of attrition, or not attrition, as this appears to be: Which is good, because Husker Nation pretty much loves Wan'Dale, too.

  3. Hello my fellow Husker Fanatics. Has been quite the year so far and much worse than literally all of us expected at this point. We have massive issues galore and I do not think we have the culture nor the players nor the flawless level of coaching needed to offset eachother. This will take time and it is going to be rough. Just know that Frost will get it fixed. He will do what is needed to make this work. Love you all, Hedley

  4. Like many, I've been disappointed with the results of Scott Frost's first 1.75 seasons at Nebraska. I'm willing to be critical because I have a lot of time on my hands and it's the internet. I honestly don't know how it will shake out from here. But every time you call him Scotty Frosty, it's clear that you're rooting against him. I hope there aren't a lot of you.

  7. How many people have to ask this before folks get the picture. No one is getting fired after this season no matter what happens on the field.

  8. Starting to think it was okay that someone beat this guy up.

  9. No, I'm not. Let me come at it another way. Again, third time. FROST IS THE GUY THAT NEEDS TO BE HERE. I put the stats up to show how horrible Frost has been. Riley was here, one, two, three, you're outta there. That was different, though. He's not a native son. Ne never played for the school. He doesn't know what goes with the tradition and pressure of playing in Lincoln. Frost is uniquely equipped for this job. That being said - coaching is still a results driven profession, no matter WHO you are, no matter where you came from, and no matter what your name is. He keeps saying, “I came back to Nebraska to get this fixed, and I’m gonna do it. Regardless of what has to happen…we’re gonna get it there. I won’t let anything else happen.” and let's be fair - the ONLY reason why people aren't asking for his head right now is because his name is Scott, and his last name is Frost. That gives him capital, and a little less of a hook mentality. But, sometimes words aren't enough. Loyalty can get you in the door, but it can also get you thrown out on your rear end as well. Les Miles fired coaches SIX GAMES into the season. Dino Babers fired the same guy who got them to a 10-3 record last year. It's okay as a head coach to admit that a staff isn't quite gelling and tweaks need to be made. Okay, Coach. There's rubber. There's road. Time to make them meet each other and show us your level of committment on fixing it.

  10. Why? You do realize this isn't the trial period right? This is the fact finding part and it should be behind closed doors. Republicans that are throwing a hissy fit over it either have absolutely no clue what they are talking about or are so partisan that they are actively trying to disrupt the hearings. I'll let you decide which is which. LINK But...isn't this interesting. House Republicans Complain About Rules They Approved In 2015 So....let's review. In 2015, the Republicans put these rules in place when they thought they might have a chance to impeach Hillary when she wins the nomination. But....oooppsss....Trump wins and now the Democrats are using their rules. What a bunch of snowflakes.....or, at minimum just a bunch of flakes.

  12. The coaches actions disagree with this 100%. We used a summer OV on him before any other ILB'ers, we have the whole staff face timing him, and we have no other interested parties of this caliber. Seems to me like we emphasized him and it is a huge loss. This dude was at the top of their ILB board since last spring (along with Malik Reed).

  14. Almost every game this season the defense has given the offense a chance to drive up the lead and our offense botches it almost every time. That is how our staff wants to win and how they went 13-0 at UCF. Realistically I can't expect the offense to perform like this forever. It is an outlier in Frosts resume and there have been several factors holding it back that should get worked out over time. Cams snaps were killing us to start the season, that slowly got better now he is one of our best offensive players. Our issues now are a QB in his head which will work out into either a new QB next season or Martinez figuring it out. The other major issue imo is unathletic O lineman which we addressed in last years recruiting cycle. The offense will be prolific at some point I have no doubt about that. On defense we are better than last year despite a worse offense. What more do you want? We are limited at LB and DB, we barely have any players we can trust out there. No depth whatsoever. Once we fill the defense with Ty Robinson, Nick Henrick, Cam Taylor Britt, Noa Pola Gates talent I can imagine being very solid on D compared to where we are now, which again is better than last year despite limited personel.

  15. That highest star rating is going to plummet due to the fact we are missing on our top targets at the moment and will soon have to grabbing mid to low three star recruits.

  16. So a year from now, it will be interesting to hear all the Kool Aid drinkers telling us that Scotty Frosty is still doing a good job and we will be a .500 (or worse) team still ? I'd wager tickets to a game in 2 seasons that we will, at best, be a .500 team. If Scotty checks his ego and puts on the big boy pants and really wants to be a power 5 head coach, he can do it but up to this point, he has shown he is either too inexperienced or too stubborn to make the tough calls.

  17. You're missing my point, and glossing over what I said. I said that Frost is the guy for the job. I ALSO said that if he wants people to believe that he's fully committed to "fixing it," he'll do the obvious thing and make the glaring changes first.

  19. Since 2016 when they won 10 games, Florida "Free Shoes" State University has won a total - A TOTAL - of 16 games. Guess who would have to win out to match that? You guessed it: I'm not saying Frost is the WRONG guy. I am tired, however, of coaches getting here and thinking that they won't, don't, or have to make staff changes. It's insulting to say that you're going to fix it, and you don't take obvious steps to make the fix. Dino Babers has fired his Defensive coordinator: https://www.localsyr.com/orange-nation/syracuse-football-defensive-coordinator-has-been-fired/ Free Shoes fired their Head Coach: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27999505/florida-state-fires-willie-taggart Hell, the Mad Hatter fired his offensive coordinator six games into the season: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article235860802.html If Frost doesn't do something prior to recruiting really beginning, it means he's not fully bought into doing what it takes to win here. I don't care if Chinander was the best man in his wedding. Business is business.

  20. Coaches dont miss tackles, stand around and watch others try to tackle then try to assist after opposing players break away for long runs or tds. Coaches dont drop passes or over/under throw wide open recievers. Like Adam Carricker said today in his show, you cant coach effort. We have a lack of effort by a lot of players. Do the coaches pull players at this point and burn redshirts? Only a coach who is trying to save his job would do that in my opinion. Yes this season hurts to watch but i have faith that SF will turn it around. We cannont continue the 2-3 year and change coaches, thats why we are here now.

  21. Well include the baselines too.. UCF was 37.7 the year before he got there. We were 36.4. He also had to have been the worst OLB coach of all time for us to credit much of Oregon's implosion solely to him. If we got stagnant in year 3 I'll be a little more concerned for sure, we don't have a lot to go on yet.

  22. But, yet you seem awfully "knowledgeable" about all these horrible things that Obama, Bidens and Hillary have done.....but....gee....I just don't pay that much attention to what Trump has been doing.

  23. Sondland's testimony revisions today blow any last semblance of legal defense to shreds. Seriously, all that is left for Trump is to beg/argue it is not an impeachable offense. Will Republican Senators tie themselves to this extortion, bribery, abuse of power, obstruction, etc. for personal gain!?!

  24. Lamar is really the feel-good story of this staff so far. Prior to this staff arriving (and for the first 4-5 games with this staff) LJ was a guy that got picked on and torched by opposing QBs/WRs. I give him a ton of credit for sticking around and improving after he got benched last year vs Purdue. It would have been really easy for him to pick up and leave, but he didn't. Kudos to him for that. As far as this team moving forward without him, I think we'll be just fine with either Cam Taylor-Britt or Braxton Clark (or Newsome, etc) moving into his CB spot.

  27. This whataboutism (variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument, which in the United States is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda) is frightening and/or disingenuous. If there was any scintilla of evidence, the GOP-controlled Senate, House, and White House (with the DOJ doing their private-bidding) would have made hay prosecuting during Trump's first two years. There was nothing there there, so what do they do? The IG quietly reports no Clinton criminal wrongdoing and Trump has his personal attorney run back-channel covert propaganda operations against Biden.

  29. Why did you post this video? Did you even watch it? Not sure why it's in this thread. Prince Andrew? Dershowicz? If they uncover stuff on Clinton I'm sure he'll be charged, just like Trump will be and every other person that can be identified by what was found in the safe and what they took from the homes.

  30. No, YOU say I am saying that. I know what I'm saying. Like I said before: I am in with the guy. But we've all heard "we're gonna fix it," and "it's on us," from now FOUR DIFFERENT COACHING STAFFS. Bill Callahan: “The bottom line is we need to make tackles. We need to make plays. That’s football and that’s life. We have got to get better. We have to find a way to get better. It’s frustrating. We found ways to come back in this game and it still slipped away. I’m taking it one game at a time. We will assess where we are after we watch game film. We are going to keep marching on. We make no excuses, none whatsoever. I take total accountability for what has happened. We are going to keep working, keep pounding the rock. We are persistent and insistent on our philosophy we have tried to ingrain. We are going to keep pounding the rock." Bo Pelini: “Like I said all along, there's character in the room, we have to play smarter. We're not about moral victories. Nebraska never will be as long as I'm head coach. If we start being about moral victories, you need to get a new coach. (This game) doesn't change what we have to do. We've got to go back to work. I told them one thing; this shows us is the potential we have as a football team. You can't get too high or too low, you've got to just go. This doesn't change what we've got to do tomorrow or the next game. We've got to keep progressing as a football team. You put in the hard work, you practice well, you learn the game plan, you do some things and execute.” Mike Riley: "When I go to bed tonight, I'll be hoping for that, because I would love to do this. I truly believe I'm exactly the right person to do this. The football parts, I've been doing it so long, we know how to fix, and we also are doing a good job recruiting." Scott Frost: "We had a long talk just that we all need to get better: coaches, players, everybody needs to get better," Frost said. "You know, the thing that I know how to do as a coach to keep moving it forward is just work harder. Keep practicing harder, keep trying to get guys better. And I told them that I think the last two games are games that we easily could have won, and we didn't for a lot of reasons and there's stuff we can all do better. And the guys are hurting right now." Don't know about you, but after you've heard the same thing over and over and over for over 15 years now....you get kinda tired of it. Don't give me coach speak. Give me results. If you're willing to do what it takes to win, show me. Because there have been two football coaches fired for on the field performance (Banker and Bohl), as far as I know. Your commitment to win shows when you show me you don't practice nepotism (like the majority of the coaching ranks at the pro and college levels do).

  31. Also lets not forget about the fact he is literally being projected as a first round pick right now. Who do I trust more on a players ability, a fan of the team or people who scout football players for a living?

  32. Why? We have the highest star rating in years this season. We need to finish strong but we are recruiting well. There are holes but theres only so much you can do in one cycle. They went big on lineman last cycle

  33. Who said anything in terms of what you've just referenced? Frost believes that he's going to turn this around, and he believes that Chin is the man to do it with. If you want to romanticize it, go ahead, but that's a pretty foolish stance to take, particularly in season 2 and especially when the defense has actually improved this season.

  34. This is a scene of the 1996 Democrat National Convention. It's in spoilers because it is truly awful and I don't want to just inflict this on your eyeballs. What's weird is everyone seems to be wearing 1980s era clothes. And Hillary was no less plastic in 1996 than she was in 2016. Super awkward.

  37. Kinda sounds pie in the sky. We want to be up by 2 scores in the 4th so it doesnt matter how s#!tty our defense is. I have to believe every coach and team in the country wants to be up by 2 scores in the 4th- but thats not reality. Problem is there is 3 phases to a football team. TEAM. Not offense supported by 2 other units. A team. You win as a team and lose as a team. The offense had chances early and the defenses had chances late. They both failed. Maybe if we valued defense more we might have won a few extra games. If you had a good D and got a 3 and out. How is that not better than a team that on play 7 throws a pick or get a strip fumble? Just imagine how many possessions our offense would have if you had a bunch of 3 and outs. Instead of other teams driving down the field scoring while you try to get turnovers?

  38. The thing is the line has given plenty of protection recently and the playcalling gets recievers open but our QB is in his head right now. We need Martinez to play better

  39. We should be practicing 4-man front this week and next. Won't make a big difference but I'd much rather have Stille fortifying the front than an assignment-missing LB. Not looking forward to this game. Maryland is definitely beatable and if we get our O together we have a shot against Iowa. They don't have much of an O, get our O clicking and a couple breaks anything can happen.
