  1. Only on HB will you find a thread titled “Glad no staff movement” only to end up with a thread where everybody’s disappointed that there may not be much staff movement.

  3. You would invoke Alan Dershowitz to defend Donald Trump. He defended Epstein and procured his sweetheart deal that allowed him to continue raping children. Epstein pled the 5th when asked under oath if he ever socialized with underage girls with Alan Dershowitz and/or Donald Trump. He has been accused of forcible rape by multiple women though his association with Epstein. Maybe that is why he writes op-eds arguing the age of consent should be 15... Did that Fox News commentary include any citations or legal support? At the Virginia ratifying convention, James Madison and Wilson Nicholas said abuse of the pardon power would be impeachable. In the Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton wrote: “The subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. They are of a nature which may with peculiar propriety be denominated political, as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself.” At the Constitutional Convention, James Madison, the lead architect of the Constitution, said it was “indispensable that some provision should be made for defending the Community against the incapacity, negligence or perfidy of the chief Magistrate.” The president, Madison said, “might pervert his administration into a scheme of peculation or oppression. He might betray his trust to foreign powers.” And if the president lost his capacity or acted corruptly, Madison concluded, that “might be fatal to the Republic.” "If you decide that certain acts do not rise to impeachable offenses, you will expand the space for executive conduct.... While there's a high bar for what constitutes grounds for impeachment, an offense does not have to be indictable.... Serious misconduct or a violation of public trust is enough. And the founders emphasized that impeachments were about what happened in the political arena: involving 'political crimes and misdemeanors' and resulting in 'political punishments.' " Whoops, that's Jonathan Turley, the GOP's scholarly expert on the issue. "As I have stressed, it is possible to establish a case for impeachment based on a non-criminal allegation of abuse of power.... As noted below, abandoning such claims would still leave abuse of power as a viable ground for impeachment. It just must be proven.... [T]he strongest claim is for a non-criminal abuse of power if a quid pro quo can be established on the record." (Narrator: it was). If you actually read the Report of the Committee on the Judiciary House of Representatives, the section President Trump Committed “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” by Abusing the Powers of his Office incorporates Trump's bribery scheme. There is even a section lucidly titled President Trump’s Abuse of Power Encompassed Impeachable “Bribery” and Violations of Federal Criminal Law.

  4. I will address the "diversity of females on campus" part... Ummmm...let me put this in non-offensive context for our more easily offended posters... Dudes on the team loving banging girls from the state.

  10. Huge missed opportunity not recruiting him out of high school. Really no excuse for that. I understand how bad Frost's quote looks now. There's no getting around that, but context is important. We had two 4 stars who spent all spring learning the offense and Burrow was transferring out of OSU after 3 years and failing to win the job at the end of spring. I'm happy for Burrow, his talent was highlighted with an amazing supporting cast. Something we could not have offered him this year.

  14. If Frost's offense is too finesse and Joe Brady's is somehow power then pigs must be flying. The only way that LSU is more "power" is because they have stronger and better athletes on the field at the OL and RB position.

  15. I think quite a few constitutional scholars disagree with his assessment of high crimes and misdemeanors. Dersh is either ignorant or extremely dishonest. I think a vast majority of constitutional scholars interpret the phase (at the time the Constitution was written), not as refering to the severity of the crime, but the fact that only those in position of power could commit such an offense as to abuse public trust. Apparently it was a fairly common phrase. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/watergatedoc_3.htm

  21. In my mind this makes a lot more sense than him leaving LSU for NU. Let's see, you just win a NC with arguably one of the better teams in CFB history, have an outstanding WR corps, are one the best recruiters on the team and operate in a state and area of the country that is overflowing the high end talent that are jumping at the chance to play for you. And you want to leave that to go to a school that is currently irrelevant, has 2 less wins in the last 3 years combined than you had just in this year, has had losing record 4 of the last 5 years and exists in a virtual recruiting wasteland for high end talent compared to where you are at. Yep, who wouldn't just at that chance /.

  26. Freshman: 4 games, 4 tackles (2 for loss), 0 sacks Sophomore: 9 games, 15 tackles (3.5 for loss), 2 sacks Junior: 12 games, 41 tackles (7.5 for loss), 3 sacks Senior: 11 games, 44 tackles (11 for loss), 8 sacks (led team) Not sure what more you wanted from him, particularly for a d-lineman that's the path you hope for. Redshirt, get your feet wet as a freshman, contribute as a sophomore, and play a lot as an upperclassman. Especially the last 2 years, if you're legitimately asking where he's been you must not have been watching the games closely. Especially considering they're out of position as 3-4 ends, the Davis twins were both good. I think they could catch on in the NFL as rotational 4-3 DTs, especially Khalil.

  27. LSU had 3 close games. Nebraska had 0. Texas finished 8-5 and they beat them by 7. Auburn finished 9-4 and lost to Minnesota in the bowl game, won 23-20. Close win vs a good 11-2 Bama team. We scored 53.2 ppg and gave up 14.5 ppg. LSU avg 48.4 ppg and gave up 21.9 ppg. People wanna talk about that LSU offense because it is more fancy (and amazing, one of the best I've ever seen) but Nebraska offense was possibly the best ever. Completely dominant. Frazier, Green, Phillips, fullbacks. Best O-line in the nation by a mile. Even if you want to call it a wash our defense was 100% better. 95' Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State finished 10-2. We beat Florida 62-24 in the Natty...guess who won the natty the next season? Florida

  28. Funny, no one saw Clemson becoming what they did at the start of last decade and look at them now. There are so many variables at play to make this whole thread pointless yet here I am saying you're 100% wrong and here's a few reasons why... Weren't we top 10 under Mike Riley in 2016 after a 7-0 start? That, to me, is relevant. Didn't frost just sign one of the best classes in progrum history headlined by surprise signings from the south that are some of the fastest guys at their respective position? Did we not get the top coaching candidate 2 offseasons ago who coveted but the likes of schools like Florida? Say what you want about hometown ties, the fact of the matter is we got a guy who had his pick at every job that offseason This point made me cringe of yours: 10. Program has been cursed since Steve P. and the fans refuse to perform the Ritual Exorcism to cleanse Husker Nation and rid it of the demons of the failed coaches of the past. If anything, its threads like this created by fans like you which is the main reason we can't "cleanse the progrum of demons"... lol, you act like there is some greater force above this program preventing them from achieving success. The fact of the matter is, football is an incredibly deep team game that requires the right coaches, right players, a little luck, and buy in from everyone involved in the progrum to get to the consistent top 10-15 level we want. The fact of the matter is this equation has been out of whack since 1998. Yet fans like you would rather do your best to tear down a good foundations that's being built simply because you are the one living in a pipe dream expecting a double digit win season after living in the gutter and then jump at the opportunity to throw out bogus excuses to make you feel better about yourself after having ridiculous expectations in the first place.

  36. The revisionist history, by people on message boards and in the media, is out of hand. To top it off, I heard Herbie tonight say Burrow was only a two star recruit. He was the #8 dual threat qb in the class and a 4 star recruit. I am happy for him, but some of this is over the top. That is all finished now...Mr Burrow, take time to celebrate because we need you back in southern Ohio ASAP. #WhoDey

  38. Yea, what a great conservative he is. Funny how conservatism has been redefined by this admin and how the GOP has sunk to Trump's level. Long dead is the fiscal conservative. He doesn't exist in the GOP except as a pretense to say we can't afford health care but we can afford a physical boarder wall, we can't afford campaign finance law regulation, but we can afford allowing the Russians (NOT THE UKRAINIANS ) to tap into our elections, we can't afford infrastructure rebuild (where is that great plan by the way) but we can afford spending money at Trump properties world wide, etc, etc

  39. 7 top ten teams in the final rankings? I don't care what they were ranked when they played them, that is meaningless. I see 5. #2 Clemson, #4 UGA, #6 Florida, #7 Oklahoma, #8 Alabama. They also beat #14 Auburn and 5-loss Texas at #25.

  40. 3 years maximum. 1- See past two recruiting cycles. 2- Level playing field for all coaches- not applicable to this argument. 3- Chemistry between player and coaches looks pretty dang good with Scott's guys so far. 4- 2009 wasn't relevant? Suh up for the Heisman? Nebraska is still a powerhouse brand and will remain so into the foreseeable future. 5- 1 excellent player and 5 really good ones. Refer to recent recruiting- they are there but inexperienced. 6- Have you been on campus recently? We aren't as diverse as some but there is plenty of variety. 7- It all depends on where you come from... Lincoln has a lot going on and driving to Omaha is similar to driving across many major US cities. Try to get from one side of Miami to the other faster than you can drive from UNL to downtown Omaha... Have you been to Tuscaloosa or Clemson? 8- Same for all teams involved... Level playing field. 9- We have one of the lowest unemployment rates nationally. Jobs are here for those with motivation. 10- We aren't cursed, we have made a couple bad decisions.

  41. Going 11-2 as a top ten team, then making it to the national championship game, then having a respectable 9 win top 20 season, then one really bad year is a hell of a way to flounder. Maybe the second best to ever do it behind Solich

  43. You should watch anytime Alan Dershowitz (Harvard, lifelong Democrat) is on. He lucidly points out that famous people cannot remember the thousands of people who get their picture taken. You'd also learn how "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" was put in the Constitution so Impeachment was not available for any old abuse of power
