  1. We, the undersigned members of HuskerBoard, do hereby formally request return of the Rumorville subforum. We declare the board has an ongoing need for Rumorville as a repository for topics including, but not limited to: rumor, innuendo, gossip and hearsay, and all such topics as are Husker-related but which are more esoteric in nature (see: threads started by Roundball Shaman and Thurston from Pender). We further request that Rumorville remain permanently available so that we may discuss topics which may not be true, but which seem possible, such as coaching moves, player/roster moves, facilities upgrades, rule changes, and other such topics as may arise throughout the year, both during the season and during the off-season. We further request that threads which may more appropriately reside in Rumorville but which are posted in forums such as Husker Football be moved to Rumorville at the earliest convenience of the esteemed and wonderful Staff, for whom we all have great respect and much admiration. Signed: knapplc

  3. "Interviewing for the Hawaii job. Go ahead & tell the message board guys I cleaned out my office. They should know." It's threads like this that make me wonder why Rumorville was ever put on the shelf. There's never NOT a need for that forum.

  4. Only on HB will you find a thread titled “Glad no staff movement” only to end up with a thread where everybody’s disappointed that there may not be much staff movement.

  9. Listen, it's bad enough with @Roundball Shaman drunken ramblings so we can't have two of you in here clogging up the threads. There can only be one. So, let's fire up a Roundball Shaman v. Thurston contest in the Shed and we'll vote on a winner. Call it a loser leaves town thread if you will. If you two fail to do this, you both get banned.

  10. Someone like this canNOT be commander-in-chief another four years. Completely abrogating long-term planning for self-gain is going to blow up in our collective faces at some point. We need someone who takes this role seriously and isn't just in it for short-term gain for themselves.

  12. So explain Frost's recruiting classes. It all boils down to coaching despite your quitters mentality.

  13. Yes Dersh quotes that same history. And they haven't seriously alleged an abuse of power that could possibly come close to a HCOM. So there is no need to remind you how Obama traded favors with Russia to help him get reelected. That deal was within the Executive's powers to make and execute foreign policy.

  14. OK, that may be worth an amendment to the petition. BTW - per HuskerBoard by-laws, if we get 75 endorsements to this petition, the Mods have to do what we ask. It's science. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  15. I want witnesses so we can find out why Hunter Biden was being paid by a foreign country who eventually got a huge aid package courtesy the American taxpayer. And the so called whistleblower to find out why they rewrote the rules to qualify him as a whistleblower. We need to know if these are just deep state individuals doing what they can to wreck the administration or part of a well-organized criminal conspiracy.

  16. So you think the President regularly keeps tabs on high profile peoples whereabouts making sure that information is in the hands of Russian gangsters who are discussing having people help them for a price? Have you read the texts? You think that is normal everyday stuff?

  22. So, just to review. Republican think Hillary is evil because an attack was made on an American embassy where an ambassador, and others, were killed and they think Hillary didn't do enough to protect them. Hillary then spent over 8 hours testifying to Congress about the incident in an investigation that took 28 months and cost $3.3 million. Fast forward, there is evidence that Trump possibly worked with foreign agents to conspire to murder an American ambassador. Barr won't even open an investigation. And...Republicans don't see a problem with any of this. @Notre Dame Joe can you explain?

  24. I thought Walters was texting his every movement to the insiders. This is so disappointing.

  25. Coaches interview all the time. That being said no one truly knows if Walters is even interviewing just like no one knows who is being hired. "Insider" info in this situation isn't worth much as you can see.

  27. Call me a Kool-Aid drinker all you want. These are the facts. I totally buy that Nebraska has out-recruited our B1G West peers for a long time now (plus other schools on our schedule). Recruiting rankings aren't perfect but over a sufficiently-large sample size they give a very good picture of the story. However, they are also not nearly the entire story. Nebraska has failed miserably in developing that talent for several years. I have confidence that is changing but admit that hasn't been proven yet. No only has Nebraska failed at that, but others around us have succeeded very well. Just look back through this thread and see how many of our opponents' (often lower-rated) players are now leaving early for the NFL and being projected as high draft picks. Even though the recruiting rankings don't tell that story, we aren't (by-and-large) losing to lesser teams. We are losing to teams who have out-developed us by orders of magnitude. That doesn't change overnight. We have made gains - those who say we haven't are simply whatever the opposite of Kool-Aid drinkers are. Granted, those gains haven't been as fast as anyone would have liked or almost any of us predicted. But that doesn't mean it isn't happening. Throw in losing significant portions of two straight recruiting classes and we simply haven't been where we think we should be - and where I believe we will be. We'll see if that turns out to be the case.

  28. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/28479186/lsu-joe-burrow-national-championship-season-places-tigers-greatest-ever my iPhone This is a very entertaining & well written article about the LSU program this year, and where it came from - but I’d like to connect some dots for long-suffering Cornhusker fans. This quote (about LSU) stood out to me: “The number of wins might have wavered, but the pride only rarely did, sustaining itself through the thin of most of the 20th century . . . .” This is what was in danger of evaporating when Moos hired Frost as NU’s head coach. Even enduring losing seasons in his first two years, I believe this same quote applies to the majority of Cornhusker fans today. Secondly, Joe Burrows (and the coaching staff that was willing to change the playbook to accommodate his greatness), flipped the script on the STYLE of LSU in just one year. Yes, they had the horses to do it, but this lesson should not be lost: One player, particularly at QB, can change everything in the locker room. But only if the staff is willing to give the ball to the best player - not necessarily “their guy”. Nebraska needs clear-eyed evaluators of players and the willingness to reward those players that win the competition for every position. Could Smothers become NU’s Joe Burrows? We shall see! Thirdly, Burrows was smart with his running ability. He ran when he had opportunities and he used his legs to avoid pressure (and was not afraid to throw the ball away and live to play another down - or series). A smart QB who thinks pass first but runs when the opportunity presents itself is perhaps more of a nightmare for opposing defenses than one you know is a running threat every time they touch the ball. Forth: LSU did it with “a brand of decidedly 21st-century football replete with a lot of big plays”. Much of LSU’s success is due to the OC’s playbook which came from the New Orleans Saints. Is that not the formula that Frost is working to bring to the B1G? If I didn’t know better, I would say that the whole SEC may need to adjust to stopping the new LSU offense. It just soundly defeated one of the best programs in the country. Keep the faith, Husker fans. Our bus is heading in the right direction, and as long as our Head Coach is willing to do what it takes to attract, evaluate and develop players (and his Assistant Coaches) with a clear eye - it may not be long before the loyalty of Nebraska fans is rewarded with Excellence again.

  31. Does conspiracy to murder a US ambassador come close enough to HCOM? I don't know if he will have a choice. If enough Republican Senators want to get into that he can't stop it I'm pretty sure.

  32. Nebraska in 1995 defeated 4 teams that FINISHED in the top 10. All Blowouts LSU in 2019 defeated 5 teams that FINISHED in the top 10. Couple close games. Both very impressive. But when people are throwing around 7 top 10 teams that is a little inflated because what matters is where did those teams finish the season. That is the true reflection what kind of team they were. For example its hard for me to give them credit for beating Texas as a top 10 team when they didnt even finish in the top 25.
