I'm starting to think none you actually have inside sources.

Does it seem to anyone else that special teams still isn't a top priority? In watching a decade of Big Ten football now that seems like a recipe to lose more close games than you win. Field position is critical more often than not. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa all have full time special teams coordinators for reference.

We’re going no special teams this year. Go for it every 4th down and all 2 pt conversions. Leave the base D in on 4th down and no punt returners.

Personally I don't care about adding rumorville back. It was a mess of mostly nonsense and made an extra forum check when coaching changes were happening. People are just butt hurt because of their own expectations again. Suck it up. It wasn't like a bunch of random rumor threads popped up. Some coaching changes were up in the air and people reported possibilities in relevant threads that were already made. If we wanna make a special forum for Thurston to post in I'll sign that petition.

I want witnesses so we can find out why Hunter Biden was being paid by a foreign country who eventually got a huge aid package courtesy the American taxpayer. And the so called whistleblower to find out why they rewrote the rules to qualify him as a whistleblower. We need to know if these are just deep state individuals doing what they can to wreck the administration or part of a well-organized criminal conspiracy.

Former Texas Longhorn and current ESPN analyst apparently thinks giving players cash is so normal that he has no problem with Odell Beckham Jr. handing out wads of cash to LSU players on the field immediately following the national championship game. Why? Because that happened at Texas - just not as openly. Acho is so used to college football players being paid that he has no problem with it - and instead complains that the NCAA should have had an issue with the headphones gift the players received. It'll be interesting to see how any of this plays out. But they need to keep putting a mic in front of Acho. The guy is gold!

I sort of accepted most of the coaching speculation these past few weeks except I never could see or buy in to the Mickey Joseph talk. Sure he would’ve been a good addition but I just couldn’t get past the fact that his younger brother Vance went to CU. I mean if he couldn’t even talk his brother in to coming to Nebraska....and IIRC I think he may have even told him to not to go to Nebraska. Maybe I got it wrong but it’s always been in my mind that he wasn’t overly fond of the Huskers by the time his career was over here. Seems like a very big stretch he would’ve ever seriously considered a return to Lincoln.

I'm pretty dang confident that Frost didn't wake up the day after Dewitt told him he was leaving and think....Hmmm......I'm not comfortable going out and finding a good coach. I think I'll just call up someone I've coached with before even though he sucks.

I hope we hired him back because he is the best available coach we could get and not just because he is comfortable.

Yep, seems odd to me that we have a TE coach, and ILB coach and an OLB coach - one of those guys should be pulling double duty. Seems like a guy like Jackson at SDSU would be chomping at the bit to pull double duty in a position like that. Not to mention our DC coaches OLBs for a while. We had a golden opportunity to let Chin coach OLBs and be DC and bring Snyder to be a true full time ST coach.

Hmm...we have a chance to bring some new coaching blood in and go back to a guy that was just here in 2018? Were the NY Giants great at the OLB position this year?

I agree that you may not spend a third of practice time (depending on how you measure it) but we have lots of coaches and multiple stations and fields etc. I presume the staff is practicing offense, defense AND special teams at the same time thru most of their practices. With 150 players and roughly 4 deep across every position etc they sure should be working on many aspects simultaneously. Kickers should not kick for 2 hrs non-stop for overuse reasons (possibly why our kickers were hurt?) but meetings, film study, strategy and scheme study and more, all take time and serious focus. Special teams the past five years sure looks to have been more afterthought than priority to many.

Sooo....getting to the truth isn't your goal. Your goal is to do the minimum needed to make it look like you made an effort while making sure the Senate exonerates Trump.

I just don't think that's true. Yeah, people love to throw that out there when special teams costs/wins a team a game. But no one is going to spend a third of their time and effort on special teams. Special teams is important, and I think in certain games really good or bad special teams can have a huge impact. But I don't think anyone truly believes it's a third of the game, whether they say it or not. Our special teams absolutely needs to get better, don't get me wrong. But some of our special teams issues are a symptom of our lack of talent more than anything IMO. Could special teams have been the difference against Iowa? Sure, but there were a ton of offensive and defensive plays that also could've been the difference.

The sad thing is, that will work. Red state constituents don't want to believe a Republican could be guilty of things like Trump's accused of, so they'll just stick their head in the sand, Congressional Republicans will lay low, someone will pop off a few #FakeNews! soundbites from time to time, and in a while they'll all unturtle and act like nothing happened. I mean... eh??? Sure, Biden is the natural front-runner with the name and the Vice President pedigree, but how many people do you honestly know that are fired up to vote for Joe Biden? I think if I'm trump & Putin and that lot, Biden is the natural target. But as an American voter, regular-schmegular dude... Biden is only really palatable because he is not trump.
