  1. Ope. Here we go with the "Rutgers isn't our rival" stuff again. Sheesh!

  2. But he got the opportunity to go to a P5 school and play. He fits the offense and has some sub par qbs to go against. Why would it benefit him to go to SDSU? Does he fit that system better or something? Even so, he has a chance to play right away at P5 and you take that every time with wide open competition. People knocked this kid during Spring 2018 and I was included in that boat. Since then, he has put in work and improved his game. He definitely has the talent to be a D1 QB and wants to make the most of it. We will see how well he does. He will be going against a lot of great teams and that has to be way more exciting than one good game, if he went to SDSU, against NDSU every year. Also, he may have brought some dual credits from high school to graduate early. That in itself is very impressive while playing a sport.

  6. His supervisors are showing him the CDC document stating that this is an appropriate thing to do. As far as safety towards the virus, we have locked down all our facilities. No non-employee can enter. If anyone has symptoms they are sent home or told to stay home. If they live with a person who has been tested positive, they are told to stay home. All those require a doctor's note that nobody has had a problem receiving (if asked for). They are required to have another DR. note releasing them to come back to work. We don't require masks because all of our work stations are separated far enough apart. Any office personnel who can work from home have been split into two shifts, one working from home, the other one here. All truck drivers are not allowed in the shipping office, they must stay in their trucks unless needed outside to strap down. So, we feel we have been very proactive in this. This has been one of the last steps but haven't had the thermometers. Till now....and now we have this issue. He's a very key employee in production. But, my attitude is, fine. if you refuse, go home. You won't get a Drs note so you won't get the FMLA pay and you won't get unemployment either. If I cater to him because he's a "valuable employee", how can I turn around and require the rest of the employees to do it? I already have employees upset that he won't do it because the process is in place to keep them safe. I just don't get it.

  7. Read what you copied/pasted. This has nothing to do with them seeing COVID patients. They got payments for lost revenue due to people not going to doctors due to many/most states completely banning elective procedures in April. Also the payments were supposed to help cover expenses for them to buy additional PPE and train their workforce for the COVID environment.

Nine were just discussing it, four responses from the two individuals above said they'd heard about this, and the other eleven from the second group refuted it.

  10. I would absolutely love for the US to have maybe 4 different parties that all have elected officials within the government. From time to time, one party will gain a little while another one loses. It would eb and flow with the times. However, until we get our elections fixed, all we will see is these different factions trying to take over the two main parties......which, in my mind has been a disaster.

Also, I have taught forever...I do not know one teacher that works multiple jobs (unless you count coaching) or sells plasma...I tried selling some other bodily fluids though! I also love how Gates is "exploring ways" for him and other billionaires to help. Ha...Geez, it must be so hard to think of how they could help.

  18. First paragraph. Not all of this is based off of covering expenses for COVID patients. There has been a big drop in patients at some hospitals due to delayed treatments or surgeries which has caused them to have budget issues.

  25. Well maybe but until we have the important data released (actual infection rates across the entire population) it is impossible to tell. It may well be that the mortality rate is very very low and all the shutdown / social distancing / etc was basically for naught. By fall it may be that 65% or more of population has already had the virus. That will make all the fuss over trying to contain the spread useless and fiscally stupid beyond all comprehension. The med “experts” who drove the bus into the grand canyon economically will never be believed / trusted again.

  26. You keep saying this, but it is simply not true. Medicare pays hospitals the same amount for a COVID diagnosis of a Medicare patient if they survive or die in their care. Their is no bonus/additional/extra funds for a COVID death. Multiple posters have told you this multiple times. Either you are just ignoring it out of ignorance or you can not read.

  27. It's good that Clester has been around this long enough to know that the vast majority of fans are good and will leave him and his son alone with the decision. It's sad though that they have to deal with a few blubbering idiots that think their purpose in life is to tweet recruits and their families. If you tweet recruits and families, you need to seriously examine your life.

  32. The other thing I've noticed a little bit of is that some US suppliers just aren't operating at peak efficiency. Some are undermanned, some of the work from home stuff is causing delays and there may be a little of the DGAF at play. I've seen a little of that too.

  34. That's exactly how this should have been handled in January. We're way to far down the road to do that now, and we never had enough tasking to make it feasible. We should have had mass testing to identify infected people, isloate them and track people who they were in contact with and have them quarantine for a time.

  36. CNS News is going bonkers over this. Article about Ken Star's interview wt Laura Ingraham Trump will make this next election all about the Obama admin: 1. Blaming Obama for empty pandemic shelves and policy. Trump supporters will unfortunately believe that lie 2. Blaming Obama for everything Mueller, Russian (or should I say Ukraine) related When in the end, you don't have a record to stand on, you deflect and blame. It doesn't mater how you start (Trump will say he caused a booming economy) but how you finished. Trump has failed in handling the biggest crisis of his presidency. While we can't blame him for the failed economy in the same way we can blame GWB for Hurricane Katrina, we can evaluate their responses to those crises. Trump is a failed leader. He's failed to show any moral leadership through this crisis, he's failed in the area of compassion, and he failed by not being prepared as an administrator and for making unwise cuts in vital programs. He's failed to take any responsibility. https://www.cnsnews.com/article/national/susan-jones/ken-starr-barack-obama-has-opened-himself-huge-questions Even The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board wondered on Sunday what Obama is "really worried about": "Barack Obama is a lawyer, so it was stunning to read that he ventured into the Michael Flynn case in a way that misstated the supposed crime and ignored the history of his own Administration in targeting Mr. Flynn. Since the former President chose to offer his legal views when he didn’t need to, we wonder what he’s really worried about," the WSJ Editorial Board wrote. Flynn’s lead attorney Sidney Powell told Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Monday that Obama’s comments “reflect that Mr. Barr is over the target and apparently dropping some effective bombs. And he (Obama) is desperate to try to rally the troops to buttress his pathetic arguments.” Who leaked the names on FISA warrants? More information is expected to emerge soon, as Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grennell releases the names of the Obama administration officials who requested the unmasking of people being surveilled by FISA warrants. As Ken Starr noted, the unmasking isn't the problem: "The key is, who leaked the classified information? ...That is the crime. That's the very serious crime. "So if the unmasking was related to an understanding that there would then be a leak to David Ignatius or whomever of "The Washington Post," then that person may very well be in jeopardy, but the key is who leaked the classified information," Starr said.

  37. I think the best course of action for the progressive wing of the Dem party, is to take every inch they can right now, their time will come. It sounds like a lot of progressives have distain for the Democratic Party, you almost see as much venom from progressives thrown at moderate dems as you do thrown at people like Trump and McConnell. Play the game, keep voting in down ballot progressives, take the little progressive steps from candidates like Biden, and keep moving forward. The majority of the Dem party right now is Older Black and White voters, who lean more moderate.

  38. I believe the Cares Act pays all med bills for all virus cases every age and place. no insurance no medicare etc. so - yes there is major financial incentive to covid cases. dead or alive.
    1 point
  39. This is false. It doesn't matter if a person dies or not, but Medicare (aka the government) roughly pays a hospital a $13k flat rate for that hospital having a Medicare member that gets admitted with COVID. I think Medicare pays ~$40k for an admit with a ventilator, death or no. There are no "bonus" payments that hospitals are getting for having a person dies with COVID. Medicare (aka the government) has a fee schedule that they follow for payments to hospitals/doctors. This fee schedule varies based on the severity of the admit/procedure, as well as a couple other factors (the location of the hospital/doctor, etc). If a non-Medicare person gets admitted with COVID, then that hospital gets $0 from the government. They would get the negotiated rate with the insurance company that covers the person admitted.

  40. Frost should only reward walk-ons with scholarships if there are open scholarships and they are earned. Now, in most years there are available scholarships, but if your plan is to hold back 3 scholarships every year for walk ons, then you are self-imposing a scholarship reduction on the program, which isn’t smart.

  41. Like @Red Five said, I doubt this guy has the scoop. But, as a purely academic discussion, I don't like it. I suppose the argument could be made that football in the spring would be better than no football at all. I don't necessarily agree with that. I'd rather see games in the fall without packed stadiums if the alternate is spring with crowds. I'm a bit old fashioned. Football is a fall thing, if that can't happen, then so be it.
