  1. People were so convinced that a drunk monkey could win nine games each year that they have to go to extraordinary lengths to not give Pelini any credit whatsoever.

  3. Luke is faster, a better arm, and better athlete than AM. He represents a true dual threat that opponents will not enjoy playing against. If Luke starts and stays healthy we will have a winning season. if it’s AM we will see more of the same and another losing season.

  5. If they just get to the point where they play smart, fast and tough football I will be happy. Losing some games while doing those things is fine. I don't expect another national championship, I just want some pride restored honestly.

  6. I don't see how the offense can't be better this year. In another year or so, depth on both sides will end the "O has to cover the D" or vice versa comments.

  8. You're kin have been wrong about the trajectory of this virus from the start.... "It's a hoax", "it's not a pandemic", "it'll soon be zero", "it'll miraculously disappear in April", "if we just close off travel from China we'll be fine", "hydroxychloroquine is a game changer", "we're testing more than any other country in the world", "anyone who needs to get tested, can get tested", "we don't really need testing", "maybe we can all inject disinfectants or shine a bright light through our skin".... Why would you start getting it right now?

  10. If this season is 12 games, we don't get 6 in the first 7, we are sitting home again....I think we go as high as 7-5 or as low as 4-8 this year (if a full 12 games). 2021/2022 we will see what we really have.

  11. To be so negative you must believe Frost needs to go so we can restart one more time. If there is no improvement this year (year 3) then it strongly suggests Frost has made no progress in rebuilding the program. Three consecutive losing seasons will basically finish killing all the positive momentum Frost’s hire may have brought. Schedule strength may be an issue but the Big Ten is on the rise broadly speaking and the road in the future wont get easier. Without a winning season this year and another good class, the times will get worse. If so, we need a major course correction before we slip down to the bottom.

  12. I've always found this to be an annoying thing that Christians do. Maybe because my parents were Christians and my dad died young. It wasn't because they didn't pray hard enough, so it's kind of annoying hearing that if you pray God will protect you. That isn't how it works. I think it's better to say/think that if you pray, God won't give you something you can't handle. In the meantime don't be a moron who invites bad things to happen to you.

  14. That common coach is Bo. Not sure what he has to do with this. He also coached Suh.....Ruud gives him credit for turning him into the LB he was. We have a coach he taught as a player that has yet to have the ILB position excel.........Frost was also coached by TO........ JoJo isn't always correct, but he makes mistakes 100 MPH which is better than some of the players....So if guys in year 2 as a starter are still making the same mistakes, whose fault is that? TBH, not really sure why Ruud's name has never come up for a guy not coaching up to expectations/pedigree/ability/insert word choice here....

  15. Hahaha unreal. Like telling American born minority legislators to go back and fix their own countries. Or insisting a black man named Obama wasn’t born here. Or putting out an ad in the paper to use the death penalty on 5 black kids who were proven innocent via DNA evidence.

  16. We need this one. However, being 3rd to offer an instate star doesn’t look good. Neither does “Proud” vs “Very Proud” and “Blessed”, or “amazing”.

  20. Hearing from Nebraska the most. Says we are at the top of his list. Minnesota and Michigan State making a push. Huskers recruiting him at DE which is what he prefers. Minnesota recruiting him on the OL and Michigan State says he could play either. Plans to release a Top 10 this summer. Taking OVs this fall.

  21. Guy, for the record, I am a minority. I'm not being racist, just stating facts. I also work an essential job so you can stay safe and sound at home. The demographics are telling the story just about everywhere. Yes, all races are catching it but it's very disproportionate to minorities. Most on here are intelligent enough to understand why. The bottom line is we aren't stopping this virus. Most of us will catch it eventually. Modern medicine and intelligence will help the vast majority of us make it through just fine. May as well get back to living.... And football!

  22. Some NU fans hate Bo so much that they are even finding ways to make his wins seem like losses. That win vs Mizzo? Well...if Helu doesn't have a record day it would be a loss...Shutting down Okie State and that high powered offense? Well, that is what he was paid to do... Beating Michigan? Doesn't count because that Michigan team didn't have 22 All-Americans... In fact, Bo's best win was a loss, to Texas. So even that was not a win.

  23. I’m not worried so much about Nebraska as I think Governor Ricketts has approached this pretty level headed so far. It’s SEC territory that I’m most concerned about. Mainly because of population and general political beliefs on the matter.

  24. Not sure where you're going here. Modern medicine is light years ahead of 1918, and the solid information it gives us tells us things modern Americans don't want to hear or follow. If we get non-English speaking minority groups on the same page, they will refuse to risk their lives at the meatpacking plants and Amazon fulfillment centers that continue to serve folks with safe work from home jobs and savings accounts. If the English-speaking white folk in Montgomery, Alabama hadn't gone out in public to protest the quarantine, maybe Montgomery wouldn't have seen a 110% spike in coronavirus cases two weeks later, which has now overwhelmed every hospital bed in the city. Let's not be quite so racist about who needs to get on what page. Modern medicine and technology is also telling us that some of the really deadly March outbreaks are likely traced to a big soccer match in Italy, the CES show in Las Vegas, a medical convention in Boston, and the concentration of Spring Breakers in Florida returning home. Even then, nobody is calling for a complete lockdown. Our SIP has been more lax than many countries, and things are reopening right and left. But if you do listen to the solid information of Modern Medicine, they caution that big communal events like sports, concerts and conventions should be the last to resume. The same Modern Medicine also thinks we should absolutely pay attention to the lessons of the 1918 Influenza pandemic, when we declared victory too early and the death toll came back twice as hard. That kinda f#&%s up the economy, too.

  25. The Ohio State team he beat was 6-7 and had their all conference quarterback injured in the third The Michigan teams he beat were 8-5 (starting quarterback injured in 1st), and 7-6 The Wisconsin team he beat was 8-5 and then lost to the same team by 40 points The Iowa teams he beat were 7-6, 4-8, and 7-6 The Penn State teams he beat were 9-4 (days after the Sandusky scandal broke and JoePa gone), 8-4, and 7-5 That's not to say the accomplishments are nothing, but in addition to his abilities as a coach he was unfathomably lucky to get the worst versions of those teams in the last decade. When he played a good Ohio State team, he lost by 25. When he played a good Michigan team, he lost by 28. When he played good Wisconsin teams, he lost by 31 and 35.

  26. What are chances a first-time HC at the G5 level put together a staff that can win big at the P5 level? Not good. I understand Frost doesn't like telling guys they aren't good enough to move-on with him but there is a reason guys making this kind of jump normally cherry-pick their best then fill the rest out the rest of the staff with the kind of hires their new cache/budget/connections can get them. Betting Moos didn't like the idea but really wanted Frost and figured it would pay-off long-term when Frost separates the grain from the chaff(as he started to do with DeWitt and Walters, I think Ruud and Beckton have to step-up or they're next). My only concern is Chin, DC is vitally important and he needs to improve, if he doesn't improve would Frost can(or demote) his best friend?

  29. This isn't the Spanish Flu. Modern Medicine is light years ahead of 1918. We have solid information on how to avoid the spread. The numbers would be much better if we could get some of the non-English speaking minority groups on the same page. Take a look at the nationwide demographics and where a large percentage of the cases are. Keeping the country under lock down isn't going to fix that.

  30. In the CCG against Texas, Suh provided greatest individual performance I have ever seen from a football player all night long. Of all the things that went wrong with the offense, penalties, and the final kickoff/drive, I would be hard pressed to identify anything from Suh as a critical mistake in that game.

  31. Hey Branno, I've read some of the discussion on here and have wanted to comment but have resisted the urge to do so but I'm just curious and you may not want to answer my question but.....are you able to work from home and continue to draw a paycheck, make a living? Forget about the "Will we play football this season?" question. If you are waiting on a vaccine, a true, legitimate vaccine that has gone thru all the protocols, the levels of development, testing and studies, etc, you may never come out of your house or do anything, ie, work, shop, vacation, or play, etc, in a normal manner ever again cause it is quite possible they will not be able to come up with one. Have never had a successful HIV vaccine, it is treated with antivirals and such and some of these other viruses, ie, SARS, MERS, ZIKA, still do not have definite successful vaccines to combat them. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7115365/) Not sure how to post links here and not necessarily interested in finding out but that is a very interesting read. Suffice it to say this, the initial concern for our health and safety was legitimate and there is still a need to proceed cautiously but the numbers do not bear out bringing us to our collective knees economically or otherwise, they are just not there. Protect the vulnerable, ie, our elderly and those with underlying conditions and get on with living. Ignore the MSM Fear Porn and know that if we don't get going, and very quickly, we will emerge from this in a very different world and it will not be because of the CoVid19 virus........rather our reaction to it. Oh btw, I believe we will have a football season! If I'm wrong it will not be the first time

  32. I'd throw-in if the Akron tune-up happens AND Adrian doesn't get assaulted post-play against CU. If we don't get screwed on those things we start 3-0 and make a bowl. What made the 2019 season so frustrating was that we didn't have those 2018 misfortunes and still didn't make a bowl.

  33. No ONE CARES- OBAMA IS NOT THE PRESIDENT AND HASN'T BEEN FOR 3.5 YEARS. Why don't you continue on and explain how Obama is really the reason that Trump has cheated on all his wives. How Obama has the Billy Bush segment secretly recorded, how Obama himself created Corona in a lab just to make Trump like an idiot. How Obama has instructed Trump to discard Cabinet members like used toilet paper at an unprecedented rate. How Obama is really the one who gave Jarod and Ivanka jobs in the white house, and how Obama is the one who granted Ivanka all the trademarks in China while we've been in a "trade war." Did you know, Obama is the one who told Trump to drink cleaning fluids to beat Corona. Oh and Trump only invested in Hydroxichloroquines parent company because Obama told him to. Obama is also the only reason so many of Trumps friends have been tried and convicted for numerous crimes while Trump was president. You're schtick is getting old dude. Find a new refrain. Oh wait... here it comes... OBAMAGATE!

  35. The thing is, they can't just give donated funds to the university. If someone donates a million dollars for football facilities, and the uni turns around and gives that money to the library system or something instead, that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
