  1. I understand you and a few others on this site are very concerned. You are all free to stay in hiding. That's the beauty of our country... You are free to live scared if you so choose. I do care about all lives but I feel strongly that our free country was not built on fear. I am glad to take risks with my life in order to enjoy all the freedoms provided us by all the soldiers who fought for our right to do so. A good percentage of our country is showing they feel similarly. Happy memorial day.

  2. Gotta say your posts have been great in this thread. I know I get tired of a method used by a certain political party that is aimed at controlling and shaming people to do and think like they do because they are not tolerant of other views. Just a few examples "if you are ok opening the economy you dont care about people dieing", "if you support trump you are racist" "if you dont vote for biden you are not really black". Please respect that others have opinions and beliefs different than yours and thats ok. There is an old saying by Einstein. “Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it isn't true.” If you believe that some states are falsifying data for political reasons. Do you not think the states controlled by your political belief structure are also not falsifying data to support the narrative of their parties beliefs? Come on. Take what you see on CNN and FOX news and blend the 2 narratives and that is probably the truth. Somewhere in the middle.

  3. That'll happen when the same hyperbole is used over and over. You sound like the sheep from Animal Farm.

  4. I understand your point of view. I choose to celebrate the lives lost. I choose to be happy about the freedoms we have that were earned at the ultimate cost to so many. My grandfather fought for our country and my dad did two tours in Vietnam. Neither are with me today but I know how they felt and feel I honor them when I say happy. To each their own. Mavric, my apologies this has gotten so off topic. I do feel the sentiments here are really applicable to football this fall. People feel pretty strongly for the side they believe. I personally would love to attend a game if the stands are open. Sure hope that happens. GBR

  5. You do realize that numbers being posted in many states are from people who died with covid-19 and not necessarily from it. Washington state just admitted they even have several gun shot victims who are counted in the totals. It is terrible that people have died... Happens to us all eventually. May as well live it up until that day comes.

  6. If he doesn't want to be at Nebraska for whatever reason or reasons, Frost is cleaning up the mojo. Other players have wished they had another season to play under Frost.

  7. I'm saying that it's terribly disappointing that a talented baller, fan favorite, and NFL-bound player found the prospect of spending his senior year with these teammates, fans, and coaches so unbearable. Not saying life won't go on, but I really thought Scott Frost was going to clean up the mojo around here.

  19. And they sacrificed for their country but now the "courageous" can't be bothered to wear a mask, keep their distance, or skip the pool orgy. It's not about you. It's about not passing this on to someone who is at risk. And that doesn't have to be direct transmission. You hand it to someone who hands it to someone at risk. They then end up on a ventilator. Living hell for a cheap transient thrill. For a fleeting sense input. Sacrifice, huh?

  20. I think PJ is a decent coach, but I also think he’s slightly overrated. He didn’t have to build that program from the ground up. Jerry Kill had done a really nice job there, getting them to winning seasons and bowl games. It was not a program in shambles.

  21. Yeah, I started to do that yesterday. But there were several pages worth so I gave up. I'll see if I can work on that today.

  22. Indeed there are some reasons to be more hopeful for this season than most are factoring into their projections. The pendulum has swung so far to the negative but the good news is it should swing back the other direction in a comparable way. 1. Despite so many weaknesses on the team the Huskers were fairly competitive in most games. 2. Offensive line play was inconsistent but never overwhelmed for entire games. Bad snaps are fixable and should be come game time. Center could be our best O line spot. More experience and physical development and maturity and depth is coming soon. 3. The RB spot was a revolving door with no stability but the room has added lots of new bodies - most with ample physical size and lots of potential at a position where younger players can step in and be fairly productive. 4. WRs will miss JD but there are some real athletes to utilize in packages and depth will be better. A new approach and ability to spread the ball around and avoid the dependency on one or two players. Opponents’ defenses like to be able to focus on one or two threats vs worrying about a bunch of unknowns. 5. QB play has a good chance to be improved - whether it be AM or not. A backup QB with ability to lead the team to wins vs most of our opponents will enable the starter to play without hesitation and let it all hang out every snap. No more playing it safe just to avoid injuries and make the stats look better. QBs should be difference makers again! 6. Dawson returns to add valuable coaching upgrade (he is one if the better D coaches in quite awhile). D line has some returning experience to lead a young but athletically capable group. The Davis twins are gone but the cupboard is not bare of great potential. 7. LB play was the weakest link on the team last year but the number of very athletic guys will jump a bunch and coaching should be a strength here. Experience could be a plus too! 8. The entire secondary is loaded with good athletes with Big Ten size, adequate speed, some fine coverage ability and plenty of hitting capability. Fisher knows what he doing and every reason to think the players will too. 9. A complete rebuild of special teams with speed, aggressive mindset and youthful energy is underway. This area was grossly neglected coaching wise and kickers were a dime a dozen and worth about that. This approach is apparently history now, and while inexperience is a big concern, the transformation is happening. This should be the most improved area on the team with the chance to turn close losses into wins and keep some tough games close in the 4th qtrs. 10. The shutdown should have nearly all the players fully recovered from injuries etc. Conditioning will have suffered but with workouts resuming shortly, there is time to get in shape. All our opponents faced this issue so the lost practices of no bowl may not be quite so disadvantageous as it might have been. This will depend on the self motivation of individual team members. Overall, when you’re near the bottom there is nowhere to go but up and we have a good chance to do so this fall, despite the challenges. The Huskers are being given a chance for redemption - how they react is up to them. GBR!

  24. My main goal for Wandale is that we have enough dudes on offense to spread the ball around enough so he doesn't get killed again halfway through the season

  26. Maybe some think wandale already arrived but I expect a huge jump this year so it could be perceived as a breakout. He had a nice freshman year but I think he could have a rondale Moore type year since I think they have enough running backs they can now use wandale in his duck r position

  30. I'm sorry, but when a player transfers just a few games away from becoming the all-time receiver in a prestigious football program, it really is a black eye for Nebraska football.

  32. As talented as the Davis' were, they were playing out of position in this defensive scheme. Same could be said of Lamar Jackson. I think NU is getting more of their type of players to execute their scheme defensively. Offensively, more play makers, & improved O-line play. IF there is an extended fall camp to compensate for the loss of spring ball, it helps Frost & Co. integrate Manning, Betts, Brown, & Fleming into the Offense quicker.

  38. He seems like a complete tool to me as well, but I'm past thinking he's a bad coach. Teams change during the year - they were super shaky at the beginning but by the end that was a good team. And his teams have improved every year, aside from 2 straight 8-5 years at Western Michigan. He'll leave Minnesota on his own terms.

  40. Guy, for the record, I am a minority. I'm not being racist, just stating facts. I also work an essential job so you can stay safe and sound at home. The demographics are telling the story just about everywhere. Yes, all races are catching it but it's very disproportionate to minorities. Most on here are intelligent enough to understand why. The bottom line is we aren't stopping this virus. Most of us will catch it eventually. Modern medicine and intelligence will help the vast majority of us make it through just fine. May as well get back to living.... And football!

  41. See the first line in my post. They are the numbers we have. So we can b!^@h and whine about numbers we don't like, or use the data available to make smart decisions. If the numbers aren't supporting your argument, they must be inaccurate. It is exhausting.

  42. Man, how far we've come as a society. If the news/data support your opinion, great. If the news/data doesn't support your opinion, we must be being lied to. https://twitter.com/scottgottliebmd/media?lang=en should be a mandatory follow on Twitter, I read everything he puts out daily and you should too. Unbiased numbers and medical opinion on what is happening. He was interviewed yesterday and said to expect a continued decline in June and then watch numbers fall off a cliff in July/August. He does expect, like everyone else, spikes in the fall. But if no one is getting sick in August... I don't see how you don't start the season.
