  1. I hadn't been that excited about him as a TE since I watched him play basketball when he was in high school. He was obviously strong and explosive but didn't seem to be that quick to me which made me wonder if he would struggle to get open against college linebackers. I would rather have seen him at linebacker because that seemed to be a better fit to me. But I would still worry about quickness. I really do think OL is his best fit. Lets him use his explosiveness and power without trying to get open or chase people down. Getting to be more and more examples of TEs moving to the OL and ending up in the NFL.

  2. Looking forward to seeing how he fits in at Center in a couple of seasons. Yes, I'm still salty.

  5. American exceptionalism is dead. We have plenty of great people doing great things, but we have to admit that the system itself is less than special. There are now first, second, and third world countries who do the important stuff better than we do. We can't blame it all on a single President. But....uhm....he also represents everything wrong with us, and makes everything he touches worse.

  6. Cam was not a college TE. Or at least not nearly as good a TE as he will be a center. They made the right move. Fidone could be a freak of a TE at the next level.

  8. ^^ I feel sorry for and pity the person who laughed at the above. I see they have no clue, no understanding and are mesmerized by the power of the cult but too weak to stand up and voice why they gave a laugh emoji.

  10. Back to the topic of the thread.... The general consensus around Fidone is that he is ours to lose. Should we lock him in, does that sway other regional prospects to reconsider (Bollers)? He strikes me as a quietly influencing type versus Lutovsky's constantly vocal peer recruiting.

  12. By the end of the year, Cam was one of the best linemen on the team, and did very well against tough d-lines in Wisconsin and Iowa.

  13. He's barely a college center, too; it took almost 11 games for him to look halfway competent at the position. Anyways, I'm not relitigating that decision; what's done is done. If only there was another position that Cam could have been moved to....

  15. That is an amazing tweet thread. Got a lump in my throat on that one. Character is a defining issue this year. An election slogan for Biden could be "In your heart of hearts, what man do you believe really cares for you?"

  16. Yeah, even if the incident was unintentional or misunderstood or there was no incident at all, it still opened up a wound. It is a wound that is very much real. It is not so much about a piece of rope or any single incident but about the big picture of racism, especially being the only black man in a sport that has embraced the confederate flag until now. I hope all of the other drivers and fans who stood in support when the noose incident came out can double down on their support now.

  17. So, it looks like there's a few copycat recipes for this sauce online. Pretty much the same ingredients, and here's, supposedly, a post by a disgruntled former employee who divulged the recipe. Although I doubt they make it in such small batches onsite. And here's a couple of recipes I found on the series of tubes, both of which mostly mirror this one: (Recipe one) (Recipe two) The method for both is the same - whisk the ingredients in a small bowl & refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving. I'm not enough of a Canes diner to know if any of these is closest to the real thing. Also, I would never use "garlic salt" in any recipe. Use garlic powder (preferably granulated) and salt. That way you control the salt in your food. You have no idea how much salt they put in "garlic salt."

  18. As we continue to see in this thread, there will always be people around to feed this buffoon's ego. Why they decided this lying criminal is their banner-bearer is beyond me, though.

  19. I see people all over blaming the media, but this is on Nascar. Nascar reported to ESPN among others that a noose was found in Bubba's garage and they were investigating. Of course that story is going to get coverage. Maybe next time Nascar should make sure its a garage rope before going public with it. But alas, that won't stop people from screaming at the media for reporting what they were told.

  23. I agree. And it was discussed a lot when Trump hired Bolton for the job. Bolton is a loose cannon that always wants to send the military to blow things up. Problem is, Trump knew that, was told that and still hired him. It's especially bad when Trump has no clue what he's doing, is heavily influenced by certain people around him.....and loves the thought of using the military to blow things up and "fix" things. That's a really bad combination.

  24. Agreed. I guess I said 'many cases' but really I just think it comes down to what's necessary. Do we need to preserve every statue of a Confederate Civil War general? No. But, I think there should be honest conversations about what should be done with them as opposed to just destroying them without a second thought. Germany is a fascinating case study on this FWIW. Spent some time studying it in college. Nazism is far more taboo in their culture than the Confederacy has been in ours; but, they're still preserving that history, showing it in museums, teaching it in schools, etc. It's a painful topic to embrace but they eventually embraced it. Germany's first reaction was to just tear down and destroy but they ultimately realized that wasn't the right path to go down.

  25. But it does matter. They lied. But their lie was based on the fact that they tasted cleaning solution in their drinks. They didn't wake up that morning and say "let's f&ck with Shake Shack today." It is just like the Bubba Wallace deal. Was there a "noose/loop" in his stall? Yes. Was it a racist act directed at him? No. Was there cleaning solution in their drink? Yes. Was it an ACAB moment directed at them? No I get it, you have lots of time on your hands and hate cops. But don't spin every situation towards your agenda.

  29. The work of a cult leader in action. The cult reveals what is truly inside a person. We have Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham - both were arch anti-trumpers during the 2016 primaries. Trump insulted Cruz's wife and father. Yet they fawn after Trump now. In this yahoo article we have Jeff, Big Ears, Session. The first Senator to endorse trump, the former AG who lost favor with Trump and resigned in disgrace but as a Senate candidate - he again is fawning all over Trump. See quote below. Perhaps the real cult leader isn't Trump. Trump is just a tool with the cult leader. Perhaps the real cult leader is POWER. The intoxicating, mind numbing, pride producing power. It was the 'original sin' of both the fall of lucifer and of adam and eve. Power is at the center. It blinds us to reality and we live in a cult induced altered universe. Trump has the power now (or better stated Power has Trump now) and Cruz, Graham, Sessions will adulterate themselves to gain that power. In reality it is power that will/has gained them and has them locked behind the bars of its control. A sad state of affairs. These men and others like them reveal that they really are weak when they think of themselves as strong. These are men to be pitied. https://www.yahoo.com/news/column-trumps-tulsa-rally-dud-191001877.html

  30. Remember when Republicans were trying to drum up the #WalkAway thing against Democrats? (and, isn't that "cancel culture" that we hear them complain about so much?) Well, turns out there is a walk away movement. Just not the way the Republicans wanted.

  31. There's been a few others that just don't make sense. I've mostly supported the protests. But, there are things going on that just shouldn't be supported and actually go against their cause. I understand the pent up anger by a lot of people. But, it seems like others are just taking the opportunity to destroy anything. And...yes, I wish these were being taken down and put in a museum that tells the story of the person so people can learn about the history. Both good and bad.

  34. Watching his highlights, I'm thinking the rating is fine. His highlights consist mostly of big cushions where the receiver catches it in front of him or bad passes where he doesn't have to do anything. I didn't see a single play where he stood out. This probably means he'll be an all-conference type player.

  35. Can't be. I've been told in no uncertain terms that a 3-4 will never work. Saban would never have that much success or be that stupid to run that defense.

  37. I thought that too, but an epidemiologist I talked to said that's not likely why the death rate has gone down since it's happening globally. She thought it was more likely that health care has gotten better at diagnosing and treating the symptoms.

  38. This is a still that shows the door pull in 2019. Whoever used this looped, wound rope as a door pull did it a long time ago, and couldn't have known Wallace was going to be assigned that garage this year. So this clearly wasn't directed at Wallace, and while it is noose-like, it's not necessarily a noose. I've seen garage door pulls tied up like this since I was a kid. Just easier to grab on to. So, the moving scene of every driver & crew pushing Wallace's car was done for a mistaken reason, but was still a very good thing. I'm on board with doing good things accidentally. The world could use more of that.

  39. Yes, last call before John Bolton disappears forever into the political transfer portal. Bolton was so outraged by whatever, that he immediately began working on a 'tell-all' book that would be published more than 9 months later.
