  1. My wife and I are both front line workers. Her an RN, me an RRT. But like I said, it seems like your reluctant to take in account anyone else’s experience and just assume your own is the end all be all.

  2. Sounds like you're saying since it hasn't had a negative impact on your life then in turn it isn't a big deal. Yes the deadliest pandemic in the US since 1918 may inconvenience your life. I don't think you're wrong by saying there is hope, and college football could be played. I personally think we're going to turn a corner on this thing soon. But just remember next time you try and down play it, and use your life as an example - just know this has killed 125,000+ Americans and the person you are talking to may have not had the rainbow and unicorn fart experience of the pandemic you have had.

  3. Miller had offers from the whole B1G, including tOSU and us. He had offers from OU, Oregon, USC and some SEC schools as well. He was the Oline MVP at The Opening in San Francisco in '19. The kid is a very good get for us.

  4. We have different opinions. I tend not to believe the supposed experts that have been wrong as much as they have been right. I pray for all that have lost family members due to it. But I deal with it daily, I have the danger at my door every single day. The front line worker I am married to sees it every single work day for 10 to 12 hours a day. If you have the same scenario feel free to call it what you want. If not your opinion really does not matter to me.

  5. It is funny how people are not agreeing that that racist POS Pergrosie needs to resign. It really proves a very big point.

  6. Its pretty simple man. Just dont test as much and fewer people will have it. Problem solved.

  7. I guess I don't (well, I do) understand why Pegrosie is not basically under attack right now for giving a fake a$$ speech about how proud she is that "George Kirby" will have his name on something. Should be calls for her to resign. Now,. She was basically doing a eulogy and using the wrong name because she is horrible. She needs to apologize to everyone in the family and every protester and she needs to resign.

  8. You can say used car about 99% of transfers, this situation is not that. It’s a huge get because you are getting a 4 star recruit to essentially walk on and use a scholly on a different position this year. You are pulling a kid out of Iowa who was the #2 player in the state when he was recruited. You are getting a kid who many experts have said is a p5 starter and NFL upside talent to come in for no risk at all. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if in the future you see Miller-Corcoran-Jurgens-Piper-Benhart as the OL of the future.

  9. They spread themselves too thin and they've completely, 100% missed out on the renaissance of urban streetwear culture that Nike and Adidas have been crushing. Plus they haven't been able to successfully capitalize on any of their big celebrity endorsements. As much grief as I've given Adidas over the years, they've really turned it up over the last 5-6 years.

  10. $20 says this is the kind of guy who gets on college football forums and says the media has been trying to scare America about the pandemic, it's a liberal hoax, and they just want to move on and get football going again.

  11. I found a nice article for those that are interested in the numbers left for the 2021 class. https://hailvarsity.com/s/9701/big-red-recon-huskers-heating-up-on-recruiting-trail A few things on his numbers on certain positions. -I think we take 2 more WR's. -We are done at O-line- outside of Geno VanDeMark who you take no matter what. -I think we take 3 DBs as we graduate a few but the room is fairly stocked. -Everything else looks spot on to me.

  13. So, he is a Miami commit and tweets a out a Husker offer??? When that happens the other way around, HB melts down and most come up with reasons why we dont need that player if he his word isn't solid. * not directed at you suh.......just pointing out the obvious double standard

  14. Not crazy. Reality. That is the basic problem the program has suffered for 20 years. To rebuild the team, Frost has to recruit, recruit and recruit. The process is on-going and endless. We probably are roughly half way to a good two deep and 5 years away from a full 2 deep and 8 years (need a couple Big Ten titles along the way) to get three deep across most spots. In fairness to the coaches over the years, hard to win without talent.

  17. I am afraid the media is going to keep the football season from happening. That and Dems wanting control. The more testing the more they are going to find. Just the way it works. Some feel it has been here since last October, me for one. Wife has dealt with it since the start, no second timers so far. Had one nurse get sick/slightly missed three days of work because CDC required it. Mortality rate is falling rapidly, most that get it don't even know they have it. No spikes in Riverside County that she is aware of. Says most of the uptake is coming from Mexico. US citizens that live in Mexico and returning to the US for tests and treatment. Her comment just a few minutes ago was the general population (Media Scare) is far more worried about it than the health officials in the local area. Really sorry so many are so afraid of this. It has not affected my daily routine in any way. Other than I could not eat at my favorite restaurant for a couple of months. 73 years old and numerous other factor supposedly to be concerned about. Just finished a 22 mile bike ride, average heart rate for 1 hour and 26 minutes was 130, max 148. Average speed on a mountain bike 14.2 and high of 29.3. If I can be out and about every single day, live with a person that faces it every day of the week you guys should be safe. When we finally start to feel safe, the chance of football may come back. The way it is now, no chance of a season for the Big Red in any of the major sports. Sad for those that have lost their lives, due to poor information and treatment, especially by cowardly doctors that would not even physically see patients. Mine being one of them!!!!!

  19. 1. His upside is leagues above Mbow 2. He is a walk-on so there is 0 risk. 3. He is coming from our “rival” and was a kid who was basically all Iowa. 4. It has been confirmed it was a mental break he needed. Lot of stuff happened to this kid in a short amount of time. 5. #1 kid in Iowa who was a Hawkeye fan and shut it down early = no posting of other offers

  21. I know numbers are not in great shape to take another Offensive lineman. Geno is one I believe we just cannot pass up on if he wants N. I do not see us taking anyone else on the O-line, so if we miss on Geno we will be done recruiting O-line for 2021. I think he would make a great center and that is a possible position where he can learn under Cam for 2 years and claim that spot. His versatility stands out as to which position he can play and he would be the best lineman in this class. So if he ends up at Center, Guard, or Tackle I want him. We are behind Rutgets as Mav said, but if he commits I still see us go after him because they could have a disaster season for year 1.

  25. I suspect the number of cases is about 10x higher than actually reported. 5% of NBA playing showed up with it. 20% of the seamen on the aircraft carrier got it, but that was a pretty closed environment. That would be 25 million Americans. The CDC came out and said the same thing about a week ago although they are not always right either. I am not so concerned about increased cases, but I do watch hospitalizations which was the reason we such down in the first place. Talking to my bro in SA Texas, the COVID ICU is getting pretty full. It makes sense to pullback opening in those areas again and give people a another lesson in not being stupid about this. That said, my county in Colorado just threw the doors open wider yesterday, and I am OK with that. My family wears masks when appropriate, when asked, and to be courteous. Wash and or sanitize hands when coming and going. I still work from home for the most part. It makes sense to me to move forward unless it picks up again and then target the areas where it does, based on hospital needs. This is with us for the long haul. Need to learn to live with it. Hopefully we are better at it when the next one hits.

  26. First hand knowledge of the disease. It does not sound like another single person has had it on this site. The sky is falling at all times, and the only positive hope on this site is that we hope we have a football season. Sheep it seems to me. I do not know a single person that has contracted Covid. Not one. Just returned from a major mountain bike trip to Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada and still no Covid. Now I don't lick door knobs, I do wear a mask when I am around people I don't know. Just trying to give a different outlook than all the doom and gloom. Sorry if I offended anyone.

  28. That's not a smartass question, it's kind of THE question. There have been reports of reinfections of COVID-19 from South Korea and China, but the biggest problem is lack of data. We really don't know if it does reinfect, and the big wildcard is mutation. We know viruses mutate, like the common cold coronaviruses, which is why we get colds every year and don't develop immunity. If it doesn't reinfect, herd immunity is a thing and we'll move past this. If it does, we're a bit screwed.

  31. Fatality rates have dropped significantly, even as infection rates have risen. That's very good news. It may be better testing and preparedness, better treatment for serious cases, the virus weakening in the summer, all or none of the above. It may also be that the most vulnerable people died in the first months. Just heard last night that the fastest growth of infections in Florida were among the 25 -35 year olds. That's infections, not deaths. Problem is, enough people are getting sick in this new surge to start stressing hospitals, who will now be challenged to treat everyone with any serious ailment. And that always was the big issue: shutting down cripples the economy. Doing nothing cripples the economy and kills thousands more people. Right now the death rate is roughly 5x the flu, but a pandemic presents other problems beyond the infection/fatality ratio. People who do study the stats very closely and have spent a lifetime in epidemiology are virtually unanimous that we're taking this too lightly. I think there's still a scenario for doing more and doing it safely, including playing sports next month, but it starts with people accepting it's not an over-hyped hoax or political plot.

  32. Not at all. I think a lot of people are tired of people moving the goal post just to make sure the majority of people are guilted into feeling the same way they do. First it was we gotta social distance to protect hospitals from getting overloaded, then they weren’t overloaded anymore so it switched to oh we will have to hide in our houses because we gotta protect the elderly it’s not just about you, now that death rate is going down it’s changed to oh well there can be long term health risks for some people. Point being from the beginning if the risk was possible long term health risks I don’t think we would have closed the country for that. There are risks with everything in life and a virus is part of living in this world, do I believe we should take precautions absolutely. I just disagree with the severity of the precautions and the long terms effects those could have on our economy and country. We are not all going to agree and I don’t expect us to, I am not trying to change your beliefs and I don’t think your stupid for being more cautious than me

  33. Congress holds a lot more power than just the purse. Congress has the power to create, revoke, or amend statutes. The executive branch can only police the statutes as defined by Congress.

  34. Haven’t seen hospitalization numbers for Florida. But hospitalizations in Texas have doubled in the last 20 days and ICUs are running out of beds, so I think it still has bite. My opinion is Florida and Texas will look like NYC, it’ll suck for a few weeks but then they’ll move into a period where the virus has moved through the vulnerable, and hospitalizations drop off - that’s just my opinion though.

  35. Her record as a DA was pretty progressive, you're referencing her time as California's AG. Where she introduced some progressive ideas, but mainly was status quo. Vox had a pretty good article on it. Something like 90% of elected DA's and AG's are white men - they speculated she felt pressure to not upend the system and get immediately voted out. Like others noted, she's a polished speaker, she shows empathy, her record in the senate has been very progressive, and I would be lying if I didn't say it's a good idea to have a Black woman on the ticket in a time we are very divided. Both Blacks and Women, are groups that are under represented in politics. Every Veep candidate has flaws, but let's not forget, perfect is the enemy of good.
