There'll be sports from other countries where they stopped the spread. In some totally mysterious, unreplicatable way that is most likely pure chance and not related to any conscious decision made by the citizens of those countries.4 points

Did the CDC say it or not? Doesnt matter how many report the facts. Facts are facts. Sure the death toll could always go up. It could also not go up.3 points
-
uh huh, interesting the only 3 news sources that a google search turns up that are reporting this are: The Daily Wire (Ben Shapiro), The Federalist (David Harsanyi, Mollie Hemingway), and The Blaze (Glen Beck).3 points

https://www.dailywire.com/news/amid-percentage-of-deaths-having-declined-cdc-admits-coronavirus-on-verge-of-non-epidemic-status Per this article the CDC has stated that we are on the verge of removing epidemic status for COVID-19 due to a steadily declining death rate.3 points

Weird how Trumpster tried to keep who got what money completely hidden, isn't it? And weird how the Trumpkins who were all about "drain the swamp!" didn't raise a peep when he made that decision, and haven't peeped one bit now that it's coming out all his cronies raked in millions that should have gone to renters and taxpayers. Weird.3 points

28,000+ people died to reach 5%. Let's say we're lucky and 50% means herd immunity. 280,000 people would die...3 points

I'm telling you that medical experts have shown that natural herd immunity is not a thing, and you called it a hot take. If I have to wear a mask forever, sure, I'll wear a mask forever. Some people are permanently in wheelchairs and they manage to live pretty great lives. It's not the end of the world if we have to change something about how we live.3 points

Maybe we need to talk to Europe to get this figured out. Premier League got back 1,973 tests yesterday, 0 positive. Meanwhile Iowa Football got back 5 tests yesterday, 4 positive....3 points

He has some good points and he's right about digging deeper into the stats, but he tips his hand with his final statement, blaming the rise in cases on the George Floyd protests and putting nothing on the premature openings in the states now seeing a surge. If you take the deeper dive into the stats as he recommends, there's no basis for this, and the opposite is possible. There's a reason why this doctor works for The Hoover Institute and why Fox News keeps inviting him on. Also, nobody is claiming that all recent hospitalizations are COVID related, a claim he wants to refute. But if the number of COVID related hospitalizations is 30%, a patient population that did not exist last year, that is a legitimate concern. Now that we see the surge, we pull the reigns back a bit -- even get Sean Hannity to endorse mask-wearing. I think it's pretty close to the way epidemiologists saw us riding this out. The lower death toll is very good news, but it doesn't mean caution is unwarranted. Deciding outdoor dining is okay, but holding off on indoor dining for awhile isn't exactly panic. Evidence suggests that Bill DiBlasio and Andrew Cuomo trying to reassure the public, misreading the stats, bickering between themselves, and delaying stringent directives for a single week probably cost greater New York tens of thousands of lives.3 points

This is about spot on. There's a lot of good instinct in libertarianism, but for some super weird reason the only people you see arguing for it are people who aren't poor and trapped at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. Our country is currently a lot of socialism for the rich and powerful, and a lot of rugged individualist capitalist for the poor and helpless. If we flipped that around some, where there's a good and helpful safety net paired with tools for success and growth at the bottom, then yeah, let's libertarianism the hell out of the top.3 points

Agreed. Nebraska's recruiting is simply not good enough so far for the 2021 class.2 points

We do heavy circuit training with minimal rest. I don't like it because it doesn't allow the incoming freshman to adapt to the required lifting we are asking. A lot of these kids coming in are not used to the rigors of this kind of training and are not strong enough to be doing heavy circuit sets or even circuit sets at all. They need to have a different training program for the incoming kids and let them get stronger and allow them to work on any weak points or unbalances they may have.2 points

My very first question is actually whether or not the tests are the same brands and also what the confirmed rate of false positives are of both testing kit options. Something that I'd say I have basically seen nobody else talking about.2 points

Are you suggesting that herd immunity isn't the solution? Your a proponent of wearing a mask to slow the spread... forever? Or until a vaccine helps the world's population reach herd immunity?2 points
-
Whatcha gonna do? How about not waste millions of dollars in bailouts to millionaires and give that money to people who can't pay rent?2 points

This is a hot take smh. The fact that 5% of the study group had antibodies suggests that herd immunity is absolutely achievable - they virus would just need to be more widespread or a vaccine would be needed to help the population create antibodies before it could happen.2 points

It'll likely be a sh#t sandwich for tons of people but whatcha gonna do? Landlords and property owners have bills they have to pay too. I don't have a solution but can't let people live rent free.2 points

This guy has been talking about this for a long time. Seems to be closer to correct than most of the others. https://video.foxnews.com/v/6169738032001#sp=show-clips Give it a couple of weeks and see if the death toll goes up percentage wise. I hope he is correct.2 points

Yes. I just read an ABC article about how the speech 'alienated moderate voters' but proceeded to do nothing but quote pundits saying Trump alienated moderate voters . If polls showed that moderate swing voters wanted statues removed, flags banned, dead Presidents banished then we would be inundated with the numbers.2 points
