  1. exactly. He has one job...athletics. And he’s playing rock the vote

  2. I’ve been voting by mail for years, at least back to when I voted for GW, maybe prior to that. What. Is. The. Problem? Expecting no answer, I’ll tell you what the problem is; Trump is behind in the polls. He and his people know if the people, all of the people that are entitled to vote and want to vote, are allowed to cast their legal ballot, he will lose. It is that simple. Voting by mail is no more questionable than voting in person. It is a completely fabricated problem generated for the sole purpose of voter suppression. If you, anyone, has any verifiable facts (not anecdotes) disputing this and proving that voting by mail is some legitimate cause of voter fraud then share that information. Otherwise quit perpetuating the self serving lies of your dear leader. I would be embarrassed beyond belief if I blindly kept my nose buried up anybody’s a$$ the way some Trumpers do. The intelligence, allegiance and motives of anyone who trusts and believes that lying POS needs to be questioned.

  3. Brilliant I stand corrected Warren has been very busy, not putting together the protocols and processes we needed to play in the fall. not putting together a detailed plan together for spring. That heavy lifting has been reserved for big10 coaches not taking the time to visit with players and parents to get their thoughts on if they wanted to play. Instead he had been investing a bunch of his time on making sure the players are registered to vote and are current up on all the issues he thinks are important. Then of course he’s working very diligently on the racism issue as well, nope no need to find out what the players wanted to do. That would have been a waste of time No wonder he has been so ill prepared for his press conferences and lacking in detail. No wonder the study he leaned on to make the decision to cancel the season has been now found out to be a complete fraud. He obviously hasn’t had the time to work on the season lol, he needs an assistant really bad. please nfl, make your splash minority hire and take him from us now. He’s obviously resume building for that job really hard right now.

  4. Well I don't agree with pretty much all of the novels above, football isn't under attack by people who don't like it, that's pretty much nonsense. What I think will happen is less kids will play it in the coming decades, Mom concerned about head injuries etc. , and other sports will start to become more popular. A gradual decline but it won't go away.

  5. Short and sweet, to the point. https://journalstar.com/husker-parents-letter/pdf_094b9947-3d4d-54af-8571-108057c66341.html Huge fail for warren not to get input from the parents and players before making the decision. The parents want details and transparency and call warren out for letting his son play. fully expect warren to pretend to listen and get input now for purely public relations standpoint. If he has time to squeeze it in between his rock the vote and anti racism efforts

  6. CFP selection committee announced they are gearing up for the season with the big12, sec and acc. So while they are playing for the natty in January the big10 is going to start their exhibition games? That’s embarrassing- just cancel

  7. This is really great for testing mass amounts of people, and it still is really new, but we really need to see what is going to happen on college campuses before we start thinking we could have played games. I bet there will be many more medical advances before the end of this year. There are colleges that have already had students on campus for more than a week. Let's see how some of these schools handle the first month and see where we are. My guess is, even with mass rapid testing, we will see outbreaks on teams in the fall. The SEC will change their tune if Alabama or Georgia have starters sit out because of a positive test.

  8. Football is under attack by those who do not like it and there are legitimate efforts being made to ban the game and or cut it off at its knees..state legislators all over the country have tried to slowly destroy the game. if you don’t think the game is under attack. You certainly haven’t been coaching it or paying close attention to what’s happening nationally. I have coaching friends all over the country that share their numbers problems and horror stories with. Here in Nebraska numbers are down, but we aren’t in the environments many of my friends have to live in. Literally looked down on as ignorant cavemen for supporting their kids playing, Major news publications have come out in favor of banning tackle football for kids under age 14- a move that would significantly cut the number of kids playing, effectively smothering numbers in the long run. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kcra.com/amp/article/california-youth-football-rules-law-limit-full-contact-practices/28583081 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.boston.com/sports/parenting/2019/03/03/massachusetts-proposed-law-ban-youth-tackle-football/amp https://brainlaw.com/youth-tackle-football/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2936638002 https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5a735bf7e4b0905433b23463/amp

  12. The only time I've been close was buying some beer earlier this summer. I had on a mask and was waiting in line to pay. Two younger guys behind me, not wearing masks, were making a point to talk about how stupid masks are how they don't understand why people wear them. My daughter was home with strep at the time. I just turned around and said, "you're right. I wouldn't wear one if I didn't feel the need. But my daughter is home sick with sore throat, fever, and a dry painful cough. I'm just buying booze in case I have to quarantine..." Those "bad asses" took about 3 steps back and almost turned blue because they were holding their breath!

  14. I’m fully aware of that viruses aren’t going away anytime soon and the big10 has set the precedent that they aren’t going to try to play through any issues like this even though there is little to no threat to college age kids. There is too much of a risk for incoming high school players. That goes double for junior college kids . The risk for them is the risk Of not playing, which is far too much to ask of a recruit, especially when their buddies are playing for teams in other leagues that are playing on tv every week . So the prospect moves onto playing for a team in a conference they can count on actually playing.

  15. Notre dame decided they were going to aggressively pursue being able to play this season. Makes sense, can’t blame a kid for wanting to not skip seasons. Expect more

  20. Ok I take it back, Warren has been working reAlly hard. Not at putting protocols and processes in place to make sure we were prepared for the announced fall season. Not to lay out a detailed plan and put all the contingencies together for the announced spring season. Nope that heavy lifting is being done by coaches from Purdue and Nebraska. Not for meeting with the players and parents to get their feedback on if they should play or not, according to that article warren has been very busy making sure all the big 10 kids are registered to vote and are well versed in all the national and local issues. He’s on the point for efforts to address racism and political involvement for the players. no wonder his press conferences are so short, unprofessional and lacking much data or facts and the study he’s leaning on to cancel the season we learned was a complete fraud brilliant Hes resume building, nfl please make your big minority splash hire and take this guy out of here.

  21. Do you remember when we needed last minute heroics to beat McNeese St? How we struggled against SDSU? If we played NDSU today, money would be on NDSU. The parity people speak of in the FBS is trickling down to the FCS level........ I can't think of one thing NU has done in the past 5 years that makes me think we'd beat NDSU if the game was played today. IIRC, their QB Lance, is rumored to be a potential 1st round pick. And I am not saying they could have that success at the next level, BUT to game plan for one match up against NU (as we are now) I'd go with NDSU.......I remember one FCS coach saying that they can game plan a little each week a year in advance to play a FBS school...Most FBS schools own't do that to play a FCS school...And I am not saying they'd win "X" out of 10, but IMHO, they are a more complete team aross the board.

  23. the fake problem is to say that voting in the privacy on the booth has not worked for over 200 years. It's only a problem to those who feel those voters are making the wrong choice without someone looking over their shoulder and harvesting their ballot. So they invent solutions like vote by mail for reasons explained in the linked article. A transparent power grab by meddling with our elections.

  25. The saliva test from Yale and the NBA got approved today. This should honestly make football season completely feasible. Every University could set up their own internal testing for next to nothing and the turnaround is 3 hours which they hope can decrease. They can also pool test (test an entire team) and quickly clear everyone after travel or before a game for example. This is why I think the B1G rushed to a decision.

  27. I was always a fan of the OU And BIG RED games growing up since 2nd grade. I think Nebraska still needs to be super power in football . Scott Frost needs to be back in the big 12 to return to the elite levels. Tom Osborne always got elite talent out of Texas. Just come back to big 12 and we have a big 12 network with or without Texas. Iowa state grad

  28. The lack of apparent communication and the disregard(again apparent) for the POV from at least some of the universities is troubling in the least. If the decision making was transparent, I can agree to having a decision that isn’t mainstream. But it appears to me, that because the powers knew we had a dissenting opinion, we were left out of the details. Almost a set up job. If we haven’t made our way into the BIG culture, I doubt we’re ever going to do it now. But I do think this is bugger of an illness, especially for more mature people( our fan base). I’m not concerned about the athletes as much as I am those over 50. I don’t think masks work much or most other measures. It’s just a super spreader that our bodies have never seen. I do think that if I’m going to get it, I’d rather have it late than early. I also think that most experts can’t understand it either because by trade they have box vision.

  29. I wonder if Mr. notre-dame knew that there was a time he would s#!t his pants and happily keep playing in it... Out of all the talking points that actually make some sense, I don't get why people try to use "well actually the KKK was started by dems". It's dumb. If this was actually the current environment, Trump would have no problem refusing the support of that liberal David Duke. My god, he would have railed against the "liberal civil war" in Charlottesville. Your smarter than this @Notre Dame Joe

  30. Unfortunately the numbers clearly show at the high school and youth level, football is a dying sport. The numbers are down everywhere, but In some areas like the northeast, the numbers are far worse than in places like the Deep South, Midwest and rural areas. Note that today anything that is uniquely American, uniquely masculine and part of our historic culture is going to be under severe attack by certain segments of our population and their willing accomplices in the media. The pandemic, racial issues, cte, pay for play and the budget shortfalls are a perfect tsunami to cut sports like football down. There are several segments of our population beyond the man bun-vegan- sjw-video game-no girlfriend- skateboard guy that were never part of that Americana scene that would absolutely love for football to go away forever. They would love to deprive us of what really is an integral social bonding and tribal construct that brings families, friends and neighbors together to support a common goal and just enjoy ourselves. Yes, commitment, hard work, competition, being on time, meritocracy and excellence/winners losers thing are very very bad words in some segments of our society. The trends are very real and only getting worse. Who knows where we will be 30 years from now. But my thoughts are football will most likely be a very regional game by then.

  33. Pay more attention. FBS schools won't schedule NDSU anymore. Last FBS game they had was a win in 2016 against #13 Iowa. Nebraska lost to that same Iowa team by 30. Scary thing is NDSU has gotten better since then. Lord knows Nebraska hasn't. It's not even a question that NDSU has been a better program than Nebraska the past several years.

  39. Hospitals get a 20% kicker from CMS for COVID patients. It’s legislation from the CARES Act. the thing to look out for is what the death talley is the next 2 years once Covid deaths significantly fall. Vast majority of deaths are in age group 70 and above. How many of those people that unfortunately passed away with Covid diagnosis would have passed away within the next 24 months anyways? If Covid is under control by March/April of next year, will the 2021 and 2022 death count be lower than what’s normally expected because of those who passed away in 2020.
