  1. btw...today there were 315,000 new COVID-19 cases across 165 different countries and 6,333 new deaths worldwide, including new surges in France, Spain, and The Netherlands, and more bad numbers for India, Mexico and most of South America. The U.S. posted yet another 1,000+ death day today, maintaining COVID-19 as the #3 cause of death in the United States. I think we can play football and get back to work and stuff, but we don't have to parrot gibberish we read on some backwater conspiracy website.

  2. You twist yourself into a pretzel with all the whatabouts and hypotheticals - this is a pretty straight forward f#&%ing issue. You lose, you transition power to the person that wins. If you don't do that, you are s#!tting on democracy.

  3. This isn't even worthy of the laugh emoji. The reality some "Americans" live in is scary. It's not funny. To be clear, there are many on the left that are just as scary, and they are no better. Not conceding in a close election is nowhere in the same ball park as not guaranteeing a peaceful process. The fact that you can't discern that difference makes your post look idiotic. I hope you're better than that, for America's sake.

  9. If he's in his second term with a Republican Senate it won't matter a whit. Democrats really screwed up the first time. They treated it like a legal case and Ukraine as provable treason. It's not a legal case, with no legal burden. You just need to establish why the man is unfit for the office. Here's how I would have proceeded with my Impeachment Hearings: DAY ONE: Donald Trump is a Security Risk. This would feature an impressive stable of military and intelligence leaders, including some of Trump's own appointees, detailing the President's lack of discretion, classified security leaks, refusal to read briefings, and business connections to unsavory foreign operatives. Putin and Ukraine would merely be a subset. Undeniable conclusion: he's an ignorant braggart and loose cannon in charge of America's arsenal. DAY TWO: Donald Trump and the Emoluments Clause. Is the President and his extended family privately profiting from his Presidency? Undeniable conclusion: Yes. All over the place. In clear examples that would gall any taxpayer. DAY THREE: Donald Trump and American Civics. Is the President dismantling America's system of checks and balances to protect his power, or simply out of spite? Americans haven't really been walked through this. Undeniable conclusion: the Founder Fathers did what they did to protect America from Donald Trump. DAY FOUR: Donald Trump's People: From Bob Barr, to Betsy DeVos, to judicial appointments who never tried a legal case, Donald Trump has brought in people wildly unqualified for the job, and/or an agenda to undermine the agency they head up. His attrition rate is disturbing. Appointees who left are trying to warn us about him. Appointees still in the job command little respect. Undeniable conclusion: the very cornerstones of America are being run by people based on their loyalty to Trump, tested by their willingness to subvert public will and established regulation to serve the President's personal interests. Add up one through four and you have the worst man for America, at the worst possible time. (If I had a Day Five I'd just have someone read the man's most ludicrous tweets into the record)

  13. McConnell said much the same thing today. The caveat is that they expect to install a willing puppet on the court. The deal will be, you get a Supreme Court position for life, but you have to commit to installing Trump no matter what.

  14. Yeah, it's kind of been a case of bad timing for 30 years now. In the 90s there was a ton of in-state talent and we did get some of it but didn't really capitalize on a lot of it. Not sure we recruited the in-state guys as hard as we should have. From the early 2000s until recently we had coaches who seemed to try to recruit in-state talent but there wasn't much of it to go around and what there was tended to be mostly Omaha kids who mostly chose Creighton. Now there is all of the sudden a ton of talent around but they are so good (and we are so bad) that they are looking at bigger programs elsewhere. The only thing that might help with Traudt is he is another year out and perhaps Fred can show enough upward trajectory that it will entice him to stay closer to home.

  15. OK, we're approximately 1 month away from Oct 24th, and the return of Nebraska Football. I've gotten over the shock of the 2020 Football Schedule. If anybody thinks that Nebraska is going to just lay down and be walked all over, I got news for you, that's not going to happen. Nebraska asked for football to come back. Nebraska is used to overcoming adversity. They have done it before, they will do it again... My Dad passed away in January of 2018, he considered himself one of the biggest Cornhusker Fans ever. I felt his presence watching Scott Frost's 1st game on TV, and I know he made his presence known with the rumbling of thunder from the heavens. In addition, Nebraska lost a great man in Larry Frost. Let it be known, that Nebraska has many angels watching over this team. I hope... I know Nebraska Players will be playing lights out in honor of their coach and his father. 2020 Nebraska, they start to make their way back to the top. Right now we have 5 top 25 teams on our Schedule. Lets get it done!!

  16. I find it incredibly hypocritical that a lot of conservative gun rights activists and ardent second amendment supporters have been so incredibly (and predictably) supportive of police with the Breonna Taylor case. Them: the government doesn't have a right to take our guns and we should be able to use guns to defend our property Breonna Taylor's boyfriend: uses his gun in self-defense against a government agency Also them: won't blame police and think he shouldn't have shot at them

  19. I mean that is a lot of talent walking out the door, but they will still be starting multiple early round picks in the secondary this year. By all accounts Coombs is a great coach and developer, but he is working with the absolute best clay. And hearing them talking about replacing elite players knowing full well they have more elite players to do that with is painful. The way I see it their weakest area is LB, and if we had their LBs that would be probably our strongest position group. Just unreal talent and depth across the board.

  21. I would say they failed to properly identify themselves and their attire was questionable. A single shout of "police" at midnight isn't a good policy for identify yourself. But yes, this speaks to the overall larger issue of how policy is failing our LEOs and endangering the public. That's really where BLM and police reform needs to head. This isn't just systematic racism, it's an overall policy issue of how the police departments approach their roll in society.

  24. I did find where the font color for the forum descriptions could be changed. They were already set to "Automatic" which I thought would have been Black but perhaps there is some code that is overriding Default to some grey-ish color because when I changed them to actual Black they show up much better.

  29. Neither. He's never been rumored to be off the team, just back in Florida with coaches permission when there was no football to be had, combined with the snakebitten fear from the other defections that he might decide to stay there. He didn't.

  35. This would all be cleared up with body cam footage....too bad they weren't wearing any. Oh wait, one of them was...too bad it wasn't on. The incompetence of this police department is pretty apparent. Too bad it took someone losing a life for them to correct their absolutely dangerous practices. Wrong address, no drugs in the house, no illegal weapons in the house, BF was cleared of wrongdoing, no body cams on, one innocent person dead.

  36. The only other account I've seen is a witness who says he heard them shout "police" one time. It's night time, they were asleep and probably never even heard the shout. Walker says he and Breonna were shouting who is it after they heard banging on the door, but never got a response. Why are the cops serving a no-knock in plains clothes on a last know residence for her ex (who the cops were after) when all they did was see him leave with a package 3 months prior??? And to top it off her ex was already arrested earlier in the day! At a minimum who ever approved the raid should also be terminated along with the officers at the door, and I have no idea how a judge would approve that kind of warrant on such shakey evidence. Not to mention the cops had body cams on them, but they're weren't recording. That should get you some kind of suspension as well for knowingly endangering your department. If I was the commander you better have a damn good excuse why you failed to collect evidence via the camera.

  37. Based on my understanding of what happened and the laws that were applied to the situation, I'm not surprised that this was the result. The real trouble here is that these police officers were able to so monumentally botch the raid/investigation, kill an innocent woman, and now it appears virtually nobody will be held accountable to the extent that is deserved.

  40. Lol. Who the hell ever said we should go anywhere else? Not me certainly. The pandemic is no longer a pandemic btw. There remains no reason to hurt every member (not just NU) by depriving all of any chance to cut losses. No doubt about the losses to nearly everybody but making the losses worse is just stupid. Believe what you want. I will do the same until a rational reason is given otherwise.
