  1. JD took a lot of hard shots for us and stayed on the field, making plays. His toughness is the last thing anyone should question.

  2. Thank you Huskers, without you fighting there would not have been MWC football this fall

  3. Of course your spin on this does not surprise me. In fact the only thing that would surprise me is if you actually knew what you were talking about. The dems/Pelosi have been trying to get a much larger aid packaged passed and are being obstructed by the repubs/Trump. Those darned dems trying to sneak things in the bill to prevent the aid being given to people who don’t need it, large corporations who don’t need it, etc. How conveniently you forget/ignore that the repubs control the executive and the Senate. Duuuuurrr let’s blame the dems, duuuuurrrr.

  6. Come on guys. JD was a bright spot here and we should just wish him the best. You don't know what does or does not motivate him. He was fun to watch... GBR

  7. Why are we using overall records as the criteria when there is more than a handful of head to head matchups to look at? I guess it just depends which side wants to tout a preconceived position. The original claim was that “Penn State always destroyed Nebraska”. That is simply not true. And then people started listing overall records which has absolutely nothing to do with PSU historically destroying us or not....

  8. Fairness and equality aren't the same thing. $20,000 could save a small business. It means nothing to a billionaire. Apparently giant food franchises qualified for billions in Payment Protection, and drained the entire fund before small business could even get to it. And $1,200 helps people whose rent is $1,200 a month pay their rent for a month. And millions of gainfully employed don't need it. Put a little thought into it, and a couple trillion dollars might be better spent in places where it's needed. Obviously the pork barrel haggling has been going on forever, and there's no dearth of a$$h@!es.

  9. I'm pretty sure when he said "Without the last five, it's almost dead even" it would mean the 10 years before the last 5. So, if my math is right, that means we had 88 wins and they had 90. PSU = 139-49=90 NU = 116-28=88
    3 points
  10. Seriously? It is nowhere near "dead even". 23 wins is a significant lead in 15 years. During that 15 year stretch, they have 6 seasons with 11 wins. Nebraska has zero. During that 15 years, they had a better record 11 times. During the same period, they have 7 bowl wins to our 5 and they missed out on 2 years of bowls due to sanctions. I am a Nebraska fan but it is clear Penn State has been the significantly better program over the last 15 years. Prior to 2005, we were a dramatically better program than they were.

  14. Ehh... yeah, this feels like a bit of a stretch. I think it would take a pretty immense talent (or an underwhelming roster) to go to another D1 school and be their top wide receiver. I think JD is plenty talented within his own right and I'm not sure if it's really fair to use that as a reflection of Nebraska's talent. At this point, I think I'd rather have JD on Nebraska's roster than not.

  15. btw...today there were 315,000 new COVID-19 cases across 165 different countries and 6,333 new deaths worldwide, including new surges in France, Spain, and The Netherlands, and more bad numbers for India, Mexico and most of South America. The U.S. posted yet another 1,000+ death day today, maintaining COVID-19 as the #3 cause of death in the United States. I think we can play football and get back to work and stuff, but we don't have to parrot gibberish we read on some backwater conspiracy website.

  16. A fascinating, if ultimately disappointing year in Husker history. Most probably know that this is when Osborne got his first win against Oklahoma, and then we gacked it up the next week by losing to Missouri and then having to play in an Orange Bowl against..... Oklahoma. One thing that always stands out to me is the fact that we played Oklahoma first, before Missouri. This is a Big 8 scheduling quirk that, as far as I can tell, never occurred any other time over a roughly 25-30 year period. Does anyone know if that was the way the schedule came out, or if the date of it was changed? As far as I can tell that's the earliest in the season we ever played OU during the Osborne-Devaney era prior to the Big 12 forming. It almost makes you wonder if Nebraska was simply doomed in those days to lose the last game of the season regardless of the opponent. It also makes me wonder how it plays out if Nebraska plays Missouri first, and THEN Oklahoma at the end, like they more or less always did then. And it also makes me wonder about what happens if the results are the same... does Nebraska get caught looking ahead and lose to Missouri anyway, and THEN beats Oklahoma, perhaps with less pressure and less hype, but more emotion and "spoiler"? A lot of musings on a rainy afternoon in Australia during a lockdown. I'm too young to remember... I would have been doting on my baby sister who was literally days old when these games happened.

  17. It is simple. Out of all the s#!t that we can do in this country...Voting and counting votes should be the simplest...period. It should start on a Friday at 12:01am, it should end Monday at midnight (is that really Tuesday), those two days should be off with pay for everyone, one of the days Sat/Sun should be off with pay as well, booths open 24/7 during that time. And every freaking vote needs to be counted. And, they need to have charter busses going around to pick up people that want to get out and vote in person at a booth. It needs to be free, easy, simple and fast. And you should still get a sticker and cookie! This is like a bad episode of Moonlighting (Anyone remember that?)

  18. Its actually pretty incredible. A temp worker (remember these elections are run by everyday people, volunteers and local people in need of work) accidentally threw out the ballots, the election director found out and had all the trash collected and saved and the ballots were recovered. In a way it gives me faith in the local election folks...

  20. Or maybe -- just maybe -- the Democrats were trying to make sure the aid got to desperate American workers and genuinely struggling business owners rather than the real-estate, retail and petroleum billionaires gaming the system that Trump and the GOP handed them on a silver platter. If anything, the Democrats have gone FAR too easy on these motherf#&%ers. https://www.npr.org/2020/04/30/848321204/how-the-cares-act-became-a-tax-break-bonanza-for-the-rich-explained

  23. Transfers of players who came to the program, tried and found themselves beat out on the depth chart or that the system doesn't fit them like they thought is one thing. But, when you have this many top recruits not even give the program a try before running back home....that's frustrating on a different level.

  31. Funny because I had the same visualization when I read the story. I would reckon with volunteers and temps running these things, something like this would occur every election. It just so happens this year, we have a candidate that wants to sew as much distrust in the election process as he possibly can - goal was to blow this story up and beat his chest about fraud.

  33. Im sure most have connected these dots, but just in case... The reason Trump is encouraging his supporters to vote by absentee, mail-in etc. is; 1- Of course he wants them to vote for him. And he knows there is no real problem with voting that way. 2- It helps drive up the numbers (percentage) of people not voting in person which will provide him added ammunition to dispute the results and take extraordinary measures because of his pre-positioned claims of illegitimacy of mail-in and absentee ballots. He gets what he wants either way. It’s why he’s been making all these fake histrionics about voting fraud, mail ins, etc. Why can’t this dbag just drop dead already? That alone would be enough to turn 2020 into a winner.

  37. I have pondered if praise by the staff (Frost) over Wan’Dale lead to JD feeling alienated or threatened by this upcoming seasons usage for him. Would love JDs skill on the field, but gut feeling is this is addition by distraction.(subtraction. Lol whoops)

  38. I mean that is a lot of talent walking out the door, but they will still be starting multiple early round picks in the secondary this year. By all accounts Coombs is a great coach and developer, but he is working with the absolute best clay. And hearing them talking about replacing elite players knowing full well they have more elite players to do that with is painful. The way I see it their weakest area is LB, and if we had their LBs that would be probably our strongest position group. Just unreal talent and depth across the board.

  39. My wife and I are about 6 episodes in to the first season. I hardly ever watch a new tv series: the time commitment, my attention span, and my early night sleepiness usually prohibit it, but damn, Cobra Kai is really good so far. I am impressed.
