  5. LOVE the two sides to every story quip. Mam, your cancer is very treatable. Your oncologist, Dr. Johnson, is one of the best in the world, and she put together a plan to beat this thing. We think you have a great shot at leading a normal life again in 6-12 months. But remember, there is two sides to every story. So we brought in Bob, who is a plumber with Roto-Rooter. Bob also has a plan to beat your cancer. We just wanted to make sure you heard multiple options. Would you like to go with Plumber Bob's Cancer Treatment Plan, or Dr. Johnson's plan?

  6. This pandemic has really exposed how anti-science and selfish a significant portion of our citizens are. I just don't get it. Most of the anti-maskers are the loudest "open up our city" complainers. Yet they defy the 2nd best way (after a vaccine) to actually open things up. *sigh*

  9. What's weird is that he was 80% on the day versus Ohio State. If he doesn't throw that pick in the end zone (against Northwestern) and we win that game on a last second field goal, he doesn't become the convenient scapegoat he is this week. Our rushing game with Dedrick Mills hasn't gone all that well in two games so far in my opinion. That is a bigger issue to me than Martinez's play, but maybe I'm in the minority there.

  12. The fact that people are willing to believe in a conspiracy despite so many people needing to be complicit in order to pull it off is... baffling. Setting aside the fact that most doctors and nurses genuinely care about others' health and well-being... I think we all know doctors and nurses (particularly nurses). What nurse working four 12's in a row would really be all that interested in opining for a COVID conspiracy? People think they give a damn? Most of them just want to work their shift, get home to their families, and friggin sleep.

  13. 2020 Game 3 “Expert” Picks: Penn State @ Nebraska ————— CollegeFootballNews.com https://collegefootballnews.com/2020/11/penn-state-vs-nebraska-prediction-game-preview Why Penn State Will Win You are what your record is, but the team is better than 0-3. What’s been the problem? The offensive line has been a big issue, turnover margin was devastating against Indiana and Maryland, and the defense is having a rough time getting off the field. However … The run defense hasn’t been all that bad, the passing game has worked, and the pass rush has been effective. Nebraska? It’s not doing a thing on third downs on either side of the ball, the downfield passing game is non-existent, and the running game isn’t converting enough drives into points. If the Nittany Lions can hold on against the Husker quarterbacks taking off, they should be fine. Why Nebraska Will Win The Huskers need Penn State to screw up, and that should happen. With three giveaways against Maryland and Indiana, the Nittany Lions make mistakes and can’t seem to overcome them. More than anything else, the offensive line has been the problem. It can’t control anyone’s pass rush, the running game wasn’t able to get going against Ohio State and Maryland, and Sean Clifford and the passing game aren’t accurate enough. The Nebraska running game really was good against two great Ohio State and Northwestern defenses, and on the other side there were just enough plays in the backfield to be a problem. What’s Going To Happen Desperation sometimes makes great games. Scott Frost with an 0-3 start would be really, really bad, but James Franklin with an 0-4 start would be a whole lot worse. Can Nebraska be as balanced offensively as it was against Northwestern? It was knocking on the door time and again, but it couldn’t kick it in. Penn State is having a bad habit of not holding up in key moments like Northwestern is. Penn State has the talent to be a whole lot better than this, but can the lines play well enough to get this done? This is gut-check time for the Nittany Lion defense, and it’ll come through with a win. It’ll be ugly, but it’ll be a win. Penn State 30 - Nebraska 26 ————— 247Sports https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Predictions-for-college-footballs-best-Week-11-games-154588535/#154588535_1 Dave Hummer: Talk about a misery bowl. These teams are a combined 0-5, and I’m not sure which program can afford to lose this game less. Nebraska isn’t as bad as its record indicates losing to teams with a combined 5-0 record. I think the same of Penn State despite its absolute no-show a week ago. This is hardly scientific, but I’ll go with Penn State because I just can’t see the Nittany Lions starting 0-4. I also think the Huskers passing offense will have a hard time getting going against a still feisty PSU defense. Penn State 24 - Nebraska 17. Bud Crawford: I hate to question a program's fight, but what is either of these winless teams playing for this season? From No. 8 to unranked after three games, the Nittany Lions are reeling. Perhaps they get back on track this weekend against the Huskers, who are now 9-17 under Scott Frost. 15. Penn Live reporter: "Even though they’re at a talent and speed deficit and are FG-underdogs here, the Huskers looked like they had some will remaining in the narrow loss in Chicago, a game they led into the second half. Can’t say the same for the visitors." Also, shoutout to PennLive photojournalist Joe Hermitt. Dude's a photographer, and this is the best pic they could get of him:

  18. The second piece of McCaffrey looking better seems to be what receivers were on the field for him. Betts first catch is a high throw on a hitch route, but he is coming back to the ball and climbs the ladder as needed to get it. The next catch is another hitch route that is thrown better and Betts makes a move for YAC. A lot of other quality throws are to Fleming where he either ran a good route and the ball came out on time or he got separation on his route. Luke threw incompletions to Falck, Vokelek, Robinson, and interception for Warner. I wonder how much better Martinez could look if he had more athletic receivers on the field all the time.

  19. On a broader scale of thought, I'm just pretty frustrated with Frosty at the moment. I can't personally give him any excuses for the kind of crappy offensive performance our team put up against Northwestern. Several things he seems to be doing aren't working. If one of those things is needing to start McCaffrey over Adrian, then let's make that change and see if the product is better. My own prediction is that giving Luke a full game doesn't really make the product that much better, but I'm the first person to admit I could be totally wrong about that.

  21. I predict that the entire game comes down to our pass rush. If we rush their QB, they've shown that they can't really do a whole lot. If he's allowed to stand there and throw all day, we lose by two scores minimum. If I'm putting my own money on the line I'd take Penn State to win & cover.

  26. We seem to fix a lot of other teams’ problems over the last 12 yrs. PSU 31 N 17 we’ll have 3 turnovers 8 penalties give up a special teams TD theyll sack us at least 4 times rush yds for us 179, 238 for them until we fix our mistakes it’ll be more of the same. My buddy is a huge PSU fan (played lacrosse there) and he thinks they stink real bad. I said, “we give games away and even when we have a chance we don’t make it happen.” I just don’t think we’re a very good football team, there are bright spots but as a whole team, not there yet. hey Huskers, I love crow so serve me a huge platter.

  28. So....2AM made very good plays with his legs when plays weren't there in the passing game. He should be replaced because LM can make plays with his feet when it turns into a bad play. Now....I voted for LM to get the start. But, I'm confused on your reasoning because he can make plays with his feet.

  33. Yeah, some of the catchphrases are getting tiresome. Our school sends out multiple emails a week that still say some variation of "we're all in this together!" Ugh. But constant reinforcement is an effective form of communication. That's why advertising works. That's why so many people believe the obvious lies of politicians if they just keep repeating the lie over and over. So yes, we need to keep up the message of "follow the science." But if you don't like that one, there are others. How about "listen to the experts" or "don't be a selfish a$$hole."

  35. I guess i will weigh in on this with my random thoughts. 1. Treatments have improved as you would expect it would as we gain more experience. 2. Covid deaths are under-reported. The CDC information that is bolded in Hilltops post is not saying that cases are being misclassified as COVID 19. It is saying that deaths that are likely directly or indirectly caused by covid are being classified as something else. 3. Masks are the single most effective source control (something designed to prevent an infected person from spreading the infection to others) measure available to decrease the spread from asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic persons. Self-isolation being the most effective for symptomatic individuals. Anecdotally (which is clearly not scientific) in the case of our facility, we have had a few cases amongst the staff, but almost all could be traced back to a family contact and were not acquired through contact with patients (all staff and all patients are required to wear a mask with rare exceptions). If masks were not very effective, I would have expected more cases of spread to staff from patients. Most of the community acquired cases that I have seen have been related to mask-less exposures at family or similar events. 4. Most business (with the exception of bars and restaurants where mask wearing is not possible) can be conducted in reasonable safety If staff and customers wear masks and try to keep their distance from each other. We have to be mindfull that excessive restriction of trade will results in significant hardship as well due to loss of livelihood which can certainly have a negative impact on health. Plus, we can't continuously depend upon the Federal Santa to keep printing money to give out without expecting to pay the price later. 5. The failure to issue a mask mandate by many Governors around the country is a lack of responsible leadership. It would be like saying, "I think nobody should drink and drive, everyone should use good sense, but we cannot mandate not driving while intoxicated. " 6. I would have no problem with people refusing to wear masks if the mask protected them and not the others around them. If you want to take a health risk, fine. You are an adult and you can make your own decisions. However, the decision not to wear a mask is a decision to put the people around you at risk and you don't have a valid right to do that. 7. Taking reasonable precautions in not "living in fear." 8. Refusing to wear a mask in a business that asks you to do so is being a selfish a$$hole.
