  2. You won't find an easier kid to root for. He is an exceptional human being, and leader. He's the first guy that I remember getting benched where it actually hurt my heart. Big fan, no matter what he does at Nebraska the rest of the way.

  3. Cam with no bad snaps today. Didn’t want to jinx it before.

  4. Ok. I have been an AM apologist for his entire career. I really like him. He drives me nuts at times but I want him to succeed so badly. I admit, I did call for LM after the NW game. It is so nice to see AM stay composed and positive. 41-50 in last 2 games. Pretty stinking good. Best part is interview on BTN after game. He may be one of classiest Husker ever. Wanted to make sure he acted like a captain even when was benched.

  5. Martinez has played an exceptional game today.

  6. This was mentioned on 1620 after the game, but it looks like the coaches adjusted how Jurgens was aligned over the ball on his snaps. Prior to this week, his head and body was behind the ball, so he was reaching out further for the ball before snapping. This week, Jurgens’ helmet was directly over the ball, so he didn’t have to reach out as far. Not sure if this led to a good week of snaps, but it’s good to see coaches make an adjustment to Jurgens’ alignment and technique.

  7. So hard to find good role models these days...I was very happy to be able to watch the game with my son and AM’s post game interview and explain to my son how AM responded to his benching. Be like AM.

  8. Frost called a great game today. The shift, set, and execution of that touchdown pass to Liewer to me is the epitome of what this offense is all about. We have figured out how to get the ball to Wan'Dale in space and it makes a huge difference. That kid plays at 100 MPH every play and just has the will to move the ball downfield. Adrian's TD run in the first quarter made Husker Nation proud - never give up and do whatever it takes to make a play. I also think Austin Allen is perhaps the most underrated player on the entire roster.

  9. Adrian has about as much heart, dedication, and will as any Husker to put on the red 'N' in my opinion. He didn't pout and give up after Luke got the start against Illinois; he fought back and did everything he could for the team. 76% completion percentage today? Amazing. For anybody that might say "Yeah but that's because so many of those throws are high percentage ones." Sure, fine - then give Frost & Lubick credit for drawing up a game plan that moved the chains and put up 37 points!

  10. Betts is a huge difference. He at least draws the attention of the defense. Martinez had a 20 yard pass to Wandale, who was sitting in the middle of the zone defense, because Betts took a guys deep on that play.

  11. Martinez has more swagger today than I’ve seen in a long time

  12. Frost runs out the clock. Nebraska fans b!^@h because they cant score in the second and should get all the points he can in the first half. Frost calls 2 passing plays to try and score. Nebraska fans b!^@h he should just run out the clock.

  13. @Canadian Fan That field is garbage and many other conference teams would agree. And it's not the first time a serious injury took down a Husker there. Spencer Long and DPE(Blown out knee, albeit in a celebration leap) Just was back peddling to catch a punt and landed in a divot in an extremely bad way

  14. I learned that highlighting the lack of holding calls against Husker opponents on social media can help correct the problem. I thought the officials called a pretty good game.

  15. "(8) Our red zone offense was effective today. How come? Who was actually calling the plays? Keep doing that." Bob Diaco: Slump Buster.

  18. Corner turned??? Gosh no Starting to travel the curve of said corner??? Yes, slowly

  19. That was nothing remotely close to targeting. If that was one of NU's players the pitch forks would be out

  20. Where's all our "stop complaining about the refs" folks at? The lack of holding calls against Nebraska opponents has clearly been intentional, just as it was intentional that they're calling them today.
    4 points
  21. @The DukeIn all fairness, the refs didn't want to call the first holding, they really wanted to say they missed it and keep that flag, but there was no way to hide it, they were forced to throw the flag. The second one, they were like "well, we just lost our bonus for calling the first one, might as well call a second holding call".

  22. Up 14. Just need to finish. Frost put Adrian in a position to make a play and put more points on the board. Adrian didn’t execute. Not gonna drag Frost for that.

  23. @mwj98talking trash on defense is the only thing they do consistently, literally the ONLY thing they do without question, up 10 or down 30, they talk trash.
    4 points
  24. You’d think if you were trash talking on defense you would not be 1-4 and one of the worst defenses in the conference

  26. @Stone Cold It's Christmas time man, and you are not spreading much Christmas cheer around the forum lately. I fear somebody has urinated in your Wheaties. Take a breath, get a new bowl, take a walk, buy a keg, something. It's bad around the U but it's not THAT bad.

  27. Frost is a division 1 coach. He has a full understanding of what he needs to accomplish over the next two years. He will bring in and retain as much talent as he can and will put the best talent on the field (as he sees it). If A guy like Stille comes back and a young guy like Robinson is truly better, Stille would be quality depth. I know it can be hard at the moment, but have a little faith in the coaches. If that faith turns out to be misplaced, trust the new guys in 2023...

  28. One was against Cam Jurgens on what would have been a touchdown by Marvin Scott at the 1 yard line, but was called back. That call really bothered me, because the amount of time it took for the ball to be snapped and Scott to be in the endzone was barely a full 2 count. There wasn't even time to have committed the holding penalty

  29. @BledredPurdue’s losses to Minnesota and Rutgers had more to do with their crappy defense than a bad offense. Purdue had the Minny game taken from them with the worst offensive pass interference call I have ever seen. If you are going to make statements, at least know what you are talking about. EDIT: Purdue had 30+ points in both losses against Minnesota and Rutgers. They nearly had 500 yards against Minnesota and over 400 yards against Rutgers. So how exactly did their offense suck against those two teams?

  30. @ColoradoHusk 1. Because the plays looked very different to the point they were out of character for Frost. 2. Because they showed the booth several times and unlike previous games, Lubick was very talkative. They would then pan down to Frost who appeared to be listening only and referring to his playsheet to see what was being called.

  31. @Decoy73 You are absolutely right. It’s been said on here time and time again, it’s hard for any QB to be successful without multiple legitimate threats

  32. I learned that while I wasn't happy with Deontai Williams a few times out there when we were jawing with Purdont I thought some of the Boilermakers were kinda asking for it also.

  36. AM is everything you want in a QB. I love the kid. He’s smart, he’s a fantastic teammate, he has a good arm, he’s a damn good runner. But he is still missing wide open guys. I just really hope he can put it all together.

  39. Adrian needed to sit for a bit that NW game. It was obvious that he was off. Sometimes a guy just needs to watch for a bit. Everyone seems to forget about Tommie and Brook. It's pretty clear that being on the sideline helped him refocus. He's still got a lot to work on, but he's clearly QB1 now. We need to find a place for Luke now. He's too good to only get one or two snaps a game. He needs to be on the field.

  40. @Coloradohusk I agree on Betts, going to be fun watching him. I saw that play a little differently. Watching as a coach (which is wrong), I was frustrated that Betts began jogging early on that route rather than flying deeper. If he takes that defender deeper, it clears everything for Wandale. I think it is TD if Betts finishes route. Again, I love Betts.

  41. @ScarletI agree short, but the ref was signaling a yard behind that.

  42. AT this point, i'm going with the Drago quote "If they die, they die" just keep going on these guys, tired of us getting lazy when we have a lead.

  45. But anyone who watches the games sees 2-3 egregious holds against the Nebraska defense that goes uncalled.
