  1. 285 yards per game would have been #3 in the country. But that's evidence of how bad we were to you? It was 146 against a PSU team that finished 4-5 and almost always recruits Top 10 talent. They only averaged giving up 130 rush yards per game. And we held Purdue to -2, not ran for -2. Good effort trying to find every possible way to make things sound bad though.

  2. That was Purdue's rushing total, Nebraska had 111. We also only rushed for 146 against PSU, and they outgained us 501 to 298 but somehow we won still. Your stats are 33% correct.

  3. People need to employ Occam's razor more often. Georgia goes Democrat for the first time in ages. Their state level Republican leaders make a bunch of changes to voting laws, including giving more power to themselves to pick members of the election board. What the f#&% do you think the purpose is? If you think it's because of voter fraud, I question your # of brain folds. Republicans need to stop being scared of the perpetual supposed impending socialist takeover of this country and look at what's happening right in front of their eyes.

  5. i am not disputing your claim...i am asking for a more credible source...but you are fighting tooth and nail to not do that. now you have claimed i was trying to tell texas what to do (well...besides to f#&% iff...but let's leave that in the football forum) and that i am somehow disputing your claim. but a source that claims a woman got pregnant in her mouth with baby squids after eating calimari (spelling?) is a good enough source for you i guess. it lacks credibility for me.

  6. No, your just upset those numbers don’t fit your narrative about what Texas should do.

  7. lol. i asked you to give a more credible source. your inability to provide a more credible source other than a tabloid says plenty

Abbott's 100% reopening of the state and lifting of the mask mandate - a move that Biden infamously called 'Neanderthal thinking'

  12. Florida has been open for quite some time and is in the bottom half of deaths per million by state while having the second oldest population in the US. Statistically speaking, FL should be near the top of deaths per 100,000 because of who the virus targets for severe symptoms. Texas seems to be doing well so far post Neanderthal thinking opening and is currently right at average for deaths per 100,000 by state. States in the Northeast have been expanding their reopening but those states didn’t seem to get Dr. Gupta’s attention. Could be that he has a political narrative to make.

  13. Nope. Any foreign power strong enough to get past our military isn't going to be concerned in the least with some randos with long rifles. Tanks, APCs, planes, helicopters, drones... And you've got a semiautomatic with a 30-round clip? I'll wager on the fully trained & equipped military in that scenario.

  15. I'll grant you that individual gun ownership wouldn't be nearly as effective as it was in the revolutionary/civil wars, but I think it'd be enough to give a foreign power some pause in the event that they would ever want to put boots on the ground in the U.S.

  16. What we really need is a law that makes it illegal to give senators food and water while they're filibustering.

  17. This idea that these guns are protecting their owners from government takeover, or defend this country from a hostile foreign power is pure fantasy.

  19. I agree that bending a little would be the best thing for gun owners to do, but for the sake of reason/public safety, not for the hope of keeping the rest of their guns. The last sentence in your post will never happen in this country.

  23. Would be shocked if Stepp didn't start right away. Under Frost we've brought in as running back transfers Bell and Mills and both started as starters. In fact it took a couple games to move away from Bell. Based on those transfers and how underwhelming the group was last year, he would be my odds on favorite.

  30. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7010e3.htm#:~:text=Mask mandates were associated with statistically significant decreases in county,41–80 days after reopening. "Mask mandates were associated with statistically significant decreases in county-level daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates within 20 days of implementation. Allowing on-premises restaurant dining was associated with increases in county-level case and death growth rates within 41–80 days after reopening. Several factors might explain this observation. Even though prohibition of on-premises restaurant dining was lifted, restaurants were not required to open and might have delayed reopening. In addition, potential restaurant patrons might have been more cautious when restaurants initially reopened for on-premises dining but might have been more likely to dine at restaurants as time passed." Might be a little early for a victory dance.

  34. I work in healthcare industry with clinical trials, and while it's only anecdotal, what I've seen is that the FDA/govt has been putting all the covid stuff at the head of the queue and trying very hard to get approvals and paperwork and whatnot done ASAP. So it's not as much that regulations have been eliminated as the FDA has been proactive in helping to keep things moving and making sure there's nothing blocking progress.

  35. Yes, Trump notably even went as far as to use the Defense Production Act to ensure that we used our resources to produce vaccines as quickly as possible. You also have to laud the guidance provided to states to assist in the rollout and logistics involved. And how could we forget the massive PSA campaign he underwent to convince everyone that the vaccine is necessary to achieve herd immunity? One thing we can be sure of though, is that Operation Warp Speed produced the modern miracle of a vaccine. It is simply a coincidence that multiple companies driven by capitalism, in multiple countries, simultaneously broke through with their own versions of this miracle. Truly, I can't fathom how much worse off we would be without Trump. Biden is clearly just riding that train of leadership. We all know how closely the two administrations worked together in transition and the results show it.

  36. I never really understand the, “we don’t know what we have, so we must not have anything” comments I see so often. We won 4 games last year. It’s not like Wandale was so good we won 9. I’m confident someone will eventually step up at both WR and RB.

  37. How many times do we need to see this same song and dance play out before we just admit these guys prefer authoritarianism to democracy? FFS they're talking about passing a similar bill using a mechanism that can avert the governor's veto here in Michigan. We finally move somewhere cool that came in clutch to do the right thing in November and the GOP is already trying to ruin it for me. The Nebraska GOP did the same thing after '08 to ensure Obama wouldn't pull Omaha's 1 EV again. Luckily Omaha and Lincoln rebelled again last year. But hey, at least you guys get to look forward to Senator Ricketts and Governor Fischer next year.

  38. No need to be a smart a$$. Nebraska was towards the top of the country in designed QB runs this year. Because the offense sucked donkey dong.

  40. Klieman inherited a development machine set up by Snyder in good standing, had an quality and experienced returning quarterback, and plays in a much easier conference. If he hadn't pulled off two of the most insanely lucky wins I've ever seen off against OU not a single person would be talking about him. K-State finished about 40 spots below us in SP+ last year at 70th. If they had played our schedule they would have been favored to win one game.

  42. Attitude/culture thing at play here. I don't know the kid at all and never want speak ill of young people because I know they are under a lot of pressure these days. That said, if your priority is getting south for party's and sun, you were never going to be the type of player that would work out here. I'd even go so far to hedge a guess he will ultimately bust anyway, but I know I'm not supposed to do that. The schools on his list are not even quality schools. He's chasing party's and sun.
