  1. Don't know and don't feel like researching, so I'm going to say "Demonland" refers to his cabal of Satan-worshippers, and the unholy practices he intends to bring to the University of Nebraska.

  2. I'd rather wait for official confirmation. Nobody else has had soft tissue injuries. For all we know, he got his foot stuck when planting for a turn on a route.

  3. I totally sympathize with good cops who hate being branded by the worst actions of bad cops, but I think Chris Rock said it best as to why this isn't likely to go away: “Whenever the cops kill an innocent black man, they give the excuse, ‘Oh it’s just a few bad apples.’ Bad apples? Some jobs can’t have bad apples. Some jobs, everybody gotta be good. Like … pilots. “American Airlines can’t be like, ‘Most of our pilots like to land. We just got a few bad apples that like to crash into mountains. Please bear with us.’”

  6. I thought everyone complained about them under Riley, and we were so much better Duval's first season... Rose colored glasses I guess.

  7. You seem to be very concerned how NU compares to the rest of the country and NU’s chances in the NCAA tournament. I agree that is the long-term goal and getting NU back to that level of baseball. However, this is basically Bolt’s first year. He didn’t have a complete rebuild, but he has the team playing a lot better than previous years. Winning the conference would be a great “first step” for the program under Bolt. Then the next few years, we can look for NU to be competitive in regionals and beyond. Even Van Horn’s NU teams took a few years to get over the hump nationally.

  10. At the end of the day, COVID is going to be a lot like the flu. A deadlier flu that didn't use to exist, but a normal and expected part of our vaccine and seasonal health protocol. It was also preparation for whatever comes next. Among the things COVID has taught me is that our country and our generation has merely been lucky in terms of pandemics, which have been doing this kind of stuff forever.

  11. In the late 80s, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game was my absolute favorite. Then my arcade replaced that one in the early 90s with a huge X-Men game (it had two screens and up to six players) that was even better. I pumped tons of quarters into those games.

  12. You're not really going to defend that s#!t show are you? You, me, and everyone here saw the press conference and we all know he conflated research into how to disinfect surfaces with curing an actual Covid infection. Do you have any research into whether or not doing shots of disinfectant can "clean the body" of Covid?

  13. Thanks for posting that. I had seen it earlier but hadn't gotten it here yet. People can be tired of blaming Riley all they want. The fact is the offensive guys he recruited have almost all been busts. Using the above names, here's how much Riley's WR recruits have contributed by year: 2015 - 0 receptions 2016 - 0 receptions 2017 - 68 rec, 925 yards, 2 TDs 2018 - 87 rec, 956 yards, 8 TDs 2019 - 59 rec, 990 yards, 5 TDs 2020 - 5 rec, 40 yards So Riley got by for two years relying exclusively on Pelini recruits. Then there were three years that all of Riley's recruits combined to be the equivalent of one good receiver. And, for all intents and purposes, that's all there was. It's pretty tough to try to run an offense when you recruit one contributing WR in a three-year period.

  14. Interesting read to see who the talking heads have labelled as the "best and worst" 1st round picks of each NFL team. Was surprised to see two guys from NU on the list. Can't say I disagree agree. It's the off season and I am jonesing for anything NU related. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/the-famous-and-the-flops-best-and-worst-nfl-1st-round-picks

  15. Gave this a champion up mark.. Very good post. Agree completely with your statement. My point is, there's husker fans on national sites (like D1 Baseball) screaming about Michigan being ranked and Huskers aren't. We all know there exists a national bias against us (wink) (wink)... Husker fans need to be behind the team and let them (the team) do the talking for us. This "if Michigan is ranked, we should also be ranked" is garbage. We should just keep hoping our boys win series.. 1 at a time and let destiny reveal itself. We as fans, well... we should cheer them on, positively support them and not go out tooting our own horns.

  26. I get what you’re saying. Yes it will make learning these things by repetition (actually doing them) much more difficult. But it is a logical thing to eliminate if you want to reduce concussions and protect players health. I only played high school ball. Had one concussion in an actual game and probably at least 3 others in practices, doing things like the Oklahoma drill. I don’t like the way the game is changing because it is all just baby steps towards flag football and I loved the way the game used to be. But we know a lot more now about concussions than we did 20-30 years ago. Probably for the best to do what you can to prevent those problems. It’ll be a non-contact sport soon enough anyway.

  28. I've tried taking the pandemic as serious as I can. However, stuff like this is growing old. For instance, I know the local TV station sends reporters out to do stories by themselves. They set run the camera and everything. So often they are outside and not around anyone else....and wearing a mask. I get the "setting an example". But...come on. There's taking it seriously...then there's a time to start acting normal. And, for the "why does it matter if he wears a mask". There have been times when the reporter is wearing a mask...with nobody around...outside...and it's hard to understand what he's saying with the mask on.

  30. ^ i was just watching some old YouTube games of Taylor Martin-ez. Man that kid was electric. I watched the N v Okie Lite from 2010, he was outstanding. He had lightning bolts in his feet. And actually threw some damn nice passes, 5 td I believe it was. Helu and Burkhead in the backfield? They were avg like +300yds on the ground. 4th in the nation in 2010 rushing, according to that game. I honestly think Frost would love +275yds on the ground. Mix in the passes for another +200 when it’s really appropriate and timely. I think he’s on his way with the OL being 6’5” n 310+ across the board for B1G play. pelini had the horses, he had the games, he had his shot. His teams didn’t lack for fire or fight. He just lost some really really bad games. On national TV and he turned into a tv moment being a d!(k. But he fielded some tough a$$ teams. I think Frost has a couple horses, some learned experience, a good/great D, and a team that is finally his. If they can dial it in and just be themselves I think we could some good stuff

  31. Riley was able to keep him but he is no way a Riley recruit. In my opinion, this is highlighting Riley's lack of ability to go identify wide receiver talent and then get them to commit. I do think one could argue he didn't have a huge need immediately because Bo left him with several solid receivers. I also think many of Riley's guys would have had more starts if we didn't change staff. In fairness to all, this is just one example showing how much Scott has flipped the roster.

  33. This is bulls#!t. It's not productive. Again; different cops, different departments, different situations. Rittenhouse ran blocks before he was near a cop, and they probably had no clue what he did. Dispatch probably didn't relay the message to those units before he got to them. What's the story on the other guy? Does he have a history of this? Were the cops told he has mental issues? I don't see anyone else near him but the cop, who seems to feel he can deal with it, but he has a weapon out to defend himself.

  35. So which is it? We don’t have to be respectful because we’re American. (your 2nd sentence). Or, Respect them, yes. (Your 8th sentence). And for clarity, I was not “shifting” blame from the police to the victim. The police have way more than their fair share of the blame and it cannot be shifted or erased. It is there for everyone to see. I’m talking about what any person, maybe a black person especially, can do for themselves to prevent becoming a victim. I’m an older white guy, I could likely get away with not being extremely respectful if I wanted too. I won’t test that theory to the point of resisting arrest though. Unfortunately, and the larger problem here is that black people don’t have that luxury in many situations. Isn’t it best that they realize that and act in their own self interest until society fixes the larger problem?

  36. No, it was an example of someone doing something that put themselves in a situation where a bad cop was able to do something wrong. I said the cop needed disciplined. He was actually fired shortly after due to this and other situations as he should have. But, none of it happens to this guy if he didn't drive drunk.

  37. I know a guy who got stopped for drunk driving. Durring the arrest, the police officer went way out of protocol and mistreated him. Then, he put stuff in the report that the dash board camera easily verified was wrong and needed to be changed. Now, the police officer was wrong and needed to be disciplined. But, the guy I know put himself in that position to by driving drunk.

  38. Hey I get that there are inequalities that need to be addressed. And I understand that it may be difficult for black people to trust law enforcement in a lot of situations. But, when it comes to the simple issue of survival (living or dying) through any police interaction, sooo many of these people are not doing themselves any favors. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the odds of being shot or killed increase greatly when you aren’t respectful, when you have a criminal record or warrants, when you resist..... So many of these poster child moments for BLM and police brutality could’ve been easily prevented by the victim. That is just acknowledging reality and does not ignore that, yes, their are inequalities and systemic problems.
