  1. Schwelly making his case for conference player of the year. Solid hitting all season, great defense at SS, and the best closer in the league, all for the first place team.

  2. Got my 2nd dose of Moderna 4 days ago (Monday). Arm was fairly sore on Tuesday but I didn't get the fatigue I felt for 2 days after the first dose. Neither vaccination shot was anywhere in the ballpark of what I felt having had Covid for all of March and half of April. I'm guessing having the actual virus significantly reduced my reaction to the shots. I'd get booster shots twice per year (or more) if it means avoiding that sh#tty plague again.

  3. It's funny. Biden has been in the public eye for 40 years, and in the spotlight for the last 15. He became notorious as a gaffe machine, nothing to do with the stuttering and everything to do with shooting from the hip in a way Obama studiously avoided. Take every gaffe Joe Biden has made in forty years, and Trump could top that in a week, minus any corrections or apologies.

  4. It appears your definition of "gaslighting" is holding you responsible for things you've already posted. That's why everyone is doing it.

  5. Wait just to be clear, you think the guy who routinely bikes, workouts, and can run up stairs (He tripped. So what? I trip on the stairs all the time and I'm less than half his age) at the age of 78 is less healthy than the obese guy, who never works out, can't walk straight up a ramp, and may have actually had a stroke in office???

  9. Yeah, this actually isn't true. The Biden who occasionally stumbles over words in public still sits down in the Oval Office, consumes briefings, consults experts, strategizes political navigation, and crafts scripted responses that you may not agree with, but reveal far more cognitive function than the previous occupant. Was/Is Trump more mentally proficient, but didn't exercise those abilities out of laziness and narcissism? Maybe. But compare Trump's extemporaneous speeches lately to his off-the-cuff interviews from 10 years ago, and you'll see that dude is in a steep decline of his own.

  11. Stefanik is her replacement because she is a female and it would be bad optics to replace Liz with a male. Democrats would try and take advantage of some sort of messaging that in the upcoming elections. Second, Stefanik is pretty good at messaging and she has said she doesn’t want to have that position for long. She is a replacement until someone more permanent comes along and distinguishes themselves

  12. Trump in the 80s and 90s vs Trump now is a shocker. Biden as VP or Senator vs Biden now; not much difference other than he's a little slower.

  13. I don't agree with this. I believe much of what makes Trump dangerous is his mental decline. One symptom that I have witnessed amongst some elderly when they start declining mentally is their inability to think through complicated situations and have self control over what they think and say. They also have an inability to concentrate for long periods of time. He has displayed all of these. Trump has always been a piece of s#!t. But, if you watch him when he was younger, he was able to still be a good salesman in that he chose his words carefully. He has ran a very large business which takes concentration and the ability to think. Now, he can't concentrate long enough to read security reports. He clearly goes into difficult situations and hasn't thought them through. And, he obviously has no ability to gauge his own words. He literally is a very very simple minded person......and he used to not be.

  14. I would say that Trump is much closer to their individual peak form, in that regard, than Biden. It just seems fairly obvious when you watch Joe speak. He's nowhere near the same guy he was as VP. And I fully understand why people find Trump to be dangerous, and I even understand some thinking that a shell of Joe Biden is better than Trump. That's fine.

  15. Not making this about @Archy1221specifically but R leadership in general. How can they keep a straight face when ousting Cheney? And she is a better conservative than 90% of them...

  20. I wonder how long he expects the jump in sales to continue from raising employee wages? That spike is almost surely temporary (think the first couple weeks after a new fast food joint opens in a mid sized town). Customers aren't going to show up, in larger than normal numbers, for very long *just* because he raised the wages of his employees. I don't doubt, however, that he's saving money within the hiring/training metric. Also, another thing to watch as wages increase across the country is, how long is $15/hr going to be enough? How long before employees find that amount not to be enough, and their attendance, performance, and attitude begin to decline again? Do you give them more money? Do you *still* not raise prices? Or do you just close the doors at that point? This is nowhere near as easy as "they need more money, give them more money".

  27. They better! They wear makeup, have tailored 5,000 suits, they have a professional make sure they look their very best anytime they are on camera. Most 80 year olds we know, wake up, might brush their teeth, bathe once/twice a week and sit around the house.
    2 points
  28. Fair enough. I don't think that's Joe's problem, though. I don't remember those issues as VP. I remember him being a charming, quick-witted man.

  29. No, he's not. I know he stutters, but last I checked, stuttering didn't cause you to routinely lose your train of thought cmid sentence. You'll have to explain the mushroom thing to me, I guess.
    2 points
  30. You're such a mushroom. Yeah he's lost a step, but he's more coherent and intelligible than the last guy. And Joe is a stutterer. He looks a million times better than 80 year olds I know.

  32. This isn't in defense of Trump, but aside from his obvious narcissistic traits, Trump has more mental capabilities than Biden at this point. Sadly, Biden has severe mental decline. It's why they hide him from the press, and when he does come out it's usually brief, and very choreographed.

  34. Yep....speaking out against the leader of the party and his lies and complete fraud that the rest of the party refuses to speak out against......gets you ousted from power.

  35. I have said all along that I agree, she's out of leadership for one reason only. Speaking out against Trump.

  36. I still think he was surprised to win on election night, but yeah, the dude is power hungry. Of course he'd want to be President.

  37. Thanks for your POV. I see her voting record is faaar more conservative than her replacement, and the only thing Stefanik has going for her is she wants to bring back Trump in 2024. I would prefer Cheney... or anyone else that doesn't connect being a Republican wholly with Trump.

  38. And, not only that, because they didn't have any chain of custody and security, anything they claim they found is totally meaningless.

  39. Not trying to be flippant but I’ve already explained why like 6 times. The fact that she can’t stop talking about Trump and the 2020 election and get moving on to 2022 and messaging policies that the Republican leadership believes will help the American people is why. I’ve pointed out before that she voted for impeachment of her own party’s President and did not get ousted from leadership in a vote not too long after.

  40. So, none of you actually believe that a former President is going to end up in prison, right? Because Trump is definitely not going to prison....

  41. That is the point. That even modest Bo had them either 1 or 2 each year in this lame division. Even a guy that most Husker fans not only hate but think was a lame coach, finished 1 or 2 every season in the west. The division blows and it is just waiting for the Huskers to stop blowing.
    2 points
  42. And you would gladly take 1/4 So would @RedDenver And he finished 1 or 2 in the division every year. Look, I get it, you don't like him, but don't pretend like you don't want those results again.
