  2. Wick has been hit plenty. He’s been run early too.it’s to y’all’s advantage we used so many arms yesterday even though pitch counts stayed pretty low. Having to throw kopps was a bad sign IMO. on the other hand, we played like shot yesterday. If we play like shot today it will be the first time we’ve done it this year. If the huskers pull it off there won’t be anything cheap about it. And it might be a snake pit in there tonight, but it looked like huskers brought some fans. hopefully those that made the trip are having fun. We got screwed having to have UN as the 2 in our regional. At least your fans seem rowdy. I’d pull for you if you put us out

  3. Because, obviously, it's about precedent. Banning Trump from Twitter was purely political. Politicians, and many other "important" people, spread false news all the time on social media platforms. Precedent. Obviously. And just because what's happening on Nigeria is a larger scale/bigger deal than banning any single person, it doesn't erase the irony. Obviously.

  6. Momentum can shift every half inning and it’s what makes baseball great - you have to throw to the batter and get outs, no dodging or running out a clock. IMO, it was a matter of time before they got to their starter, he was leaving it up and they were just under it until that 3rd time through the lineup. And excellent job by Bolt to recognize the situation after the 3rd, collect the team and talk it out. I bet he’s a badass to play for.

  7. Whether he becomes a stud or not, take the kid. At the very least it puts a little piece of news out there that a kid left a national championship contender to play for the Huskers.

  10. If he had to pick today he would be N. Going to KSU next weekend and will likely decide after that.

  11. I was worried when I saw Arkansas pitcher getting squeezed. Hroch is better when he can pick at the zone. With this zone he’s gonna have to hum some and that doesn’t work with Arkansas.

  12. Trump is not the only person who has had his Twitter account put on lock down. There actually is a ton of precedent of people not following rules and getting the boot. And unfortunately yes, many people still have accounts when they shouldn’t. It’s not a matter of it happening on a larger scale in Nigeria. These situations are not the same at all.

  13. Because obviously a govt banning an internet platform used by the public and an internet platform suspending/banning an individual for attempting to incite the masses with false news are the same thing...

  14. I’m not a big gun owner but believe in the right to own. Here is my thoughts on some of the discussion points: Way better enforcement of current law, but I’m not in law enforcement so I don’t know what needs to take place exactly to fix that. magazine limits of 15-20 seems reasonable. background checks at gun shows (if they don’t already take place, never been to one so I don’t know) seems appropriate if it’s required at a gun store anyway. extended background checks for purchase of AR style guns and a longer waiting period to take possession. Penalties (including more than just monetary) for a licensed gun owner if their gun was used in a crime and not reported stolen and proven to be not locked up in a gun safe. Would help make sure people lock up their guns at home. Mandatory training and licensing to conceal carry/open carry if that state allows those options. Probably forgetting a few but those are my thoughts.

  15. Fauci said his NIH did not fund gain of function research, that will soon be verified or disproven. Fauci also ignorantly trusted China scientists to be truthful. Fauci is an institutionalist, and one bad thing about institutionalists is they always seem to want to protect the institution they serve even in the face of damning information. I believe Fauci genuinely cares about saving lives as much as anyone else, but I also believe he cares about protecting the NIH and those related to NIH from bad publicity (that could be warranted) out of fear it will harm those institutions. There was no reason to dismiss the lab leak theory publicly until the natural zoonotic origin was proven.

  18. So I have two Mastersereres degrees. When I was finishing up my second one, I realized that I could take one or two more classes to bump up to the highest pay scale without a PhD. So I figured I might as well do it and make more cash. I was down to one class left and found one that seemed interesting but I did not want to do a lot of work, so I emailed the professor and basically said "Hey, I need one more class to bump up on my pay scale, I was wondering if you could let me know if your class is a lot of work or not" She was kind enough to email back and let me know that there was a lot of work to do for the class and that it would be interesting but if I was just looking for an easy class, this might not be the one. I thanked her and found a class on power point presentation and communication to students. We basically made power points. I can't remember the last time I created a power point since the end of that class.

  19. The consensus on from OSU fans on R/CFB is he is a super talented kid who is a better safety than corner, but he was dead set on playing corner and couldn’t make it work at OSU.

  20. I won't say education isn't important either, but a traditional college education is much less important than on the job training....And it's definitely not consistent evidence of intellect. It's too often mistaken as such. Also, Maher better be careful. He's been flirting with getting cancelled, if he's not careful.

  21. Amen. I just finished my masters this Spring so I could get a raise. But I’m pretty confident in saying 30 of the 36 hours I took will not make me a better teacher. My sister is a professor in Minnesota. She has some frustrating stories about kids getting second chances when they don’t deserve them. I don’t want to poopoo the importance of a quality education, but our educational system has some serious flaws in its rigor.

  24. Player of the game.....11 walks come on down.... 5 hit, 5 runs. How about making college kids swing the bat next time out blue. Coulda had the same result but it woulda been done the right way.

  25. The strikezones are driving me nuts. Super tight at the beginning but seemed like it was consistently small for both, but crazy disparity as the game has gone on.

  26. Agree. It does suck. Unfortunately Arkansas has the power arm to withstand that zone.

  29. It is sort of the long game that you have to play. Honestly, if you coach or do an overage (they don't usually do that unless it is high school) you can do just fine. s#!t, I have a buddy teaching PE summer school this summer and he is getting 8,000 for that, on top of 5,000 for softball, 5,000 for baseball and probably another 3,000 in supervision. That is in addition to his teaching salary.

  33. I’d love to make more. But I’m not going to complain too much about being able to retire with a full pension in my early to mid 50’s. I’ve continued my education and coach 3 sports at the middle school level. I also work in the summer. I’m doing okay. The trick is getting through the first few years by understanding you are being paid a living wage, and that’s it. New teachers that buy new cars are not smart teachers...

  35. They simply asked if they were interested. I’m not going to argue if the producers count as the same as host. Its just pathetic that our politicians waste their time on s#!t like this.

  36. I believe he said if they reached out to him but he would not be the one reaching out, which clearly isn’t true. His producers are an extension of him and I highly doubt they would do something for his show that he doesn’t want to happen.

  37. Our offense is relying a bunch of transfers to be contributing this year on the 2 deep(Manning, Martin, Stepp, Toure, Nouili, Ezra Miller, Culp, etc). I think it’s the new normal in CFB.

  38. None of these people apparently listened to the podcast. He specifically says he’d like to have Scalise, Stefanik and others to talk about the election lies if they were willing to. It’s at the 13:00 minute mark. I be lying if I said I was stunned that leaders are Tweeting for culture points instead of having honest conversations.

  45. I would like to see you point to one of the "facts" that I've posted that isn't true. Riley had Pelini's recruits to work with. Frost has had Riley's to work with. Chicken salad and such. You can be tired of it all you want. That doesn't mean it's not true. I mentioned in earlier posts that Frost bears some blame in the recruiting department also. But I guess you keep ignoring the parts you don't want to read.

  46. I think Coach Frost has figured it out a bit that the BIG is a much different animal than he saw at UCF and Oregon. It's a much more physical conference. He has pivoted quickly and gone after bigger players. At the end of the day, like others have pointed out, the scheme wont matter at all if we cant stop beating ourselves. Turnovers, untimely penalties and awful special teams- all the markers for poorly coached teams have to be improved upon in a significant way. I'm a fan of Coach Frost, love his passion and attitude. He inherited a hot mess, but he needs to clean a lot of this up- it's on his shoulders now.
