  1. Just remember... media members who are alumni of schools associated with these allegations actively campaigned for Nebraska to be kicked out of the conference for wanting to play football last season. And not a peep about this stuff.

  5. Just read on ESPN Bo Schembechler’s own adopted son Matt, went to his adopted father and told him he was molested at age 10 by the team physician. He is 62 now and is leading a charge to get to the bottom of this. There are now 900 former athletes who have attorney representation to pursue what might have been 30+ years of sexual misconduct by this man who passed away in 2008. I know Nebraska has had its share of suspended players, controversy, and headlines. No program is totally clean. But dear God, has there ever been any inkling of this type of behavior at DONU? Speak now, let us know. Does anyone in the last 30-40 yrs know of any players or otherwise having an experience of Sandusky or this total trash at Michigan happen to them? Couple it with the detestable s#!t at Michigan St, I hope for all of Husker Nation that no one allowed a pervert creep to stay in the program who took advantage like these men did; whilst the head men in charge did nothing. I get that “programs protect their own.” Kids make mistakes and should be offered a second chance. But this s#!t is disgusting. Consenting adults is one thing, but a person in a position where the young are offered to them and takes advantage of them cannot be tolerated. I hope and pray we never hear about this at N

  6. I am ready for the southern tears when an SEC school gets scheduled to play up north in December. Auburn at Wisconsin in Madison? Oh, yeah. I'm all for that.

  7. Interesting that he would make this statement. Not all situations are the same. We seem to be okay with Oliver Martin’s two transfers.

  8. I've actually always thought, as a football player, I would hate playing in the south. Imagine how blistering hot most of their games are. Meanwhile, in reality, very few games in Lincoln are extremely cold.

  9. One problem would then be the lowering of rankings further of non power five teams. Just look at UCF in 2017 and 2018 or Cincinnati in 2020. Just keep them artificially lower than the threshold, whatever it is set at, and then they are out.

  10. This ain't the 1980s, Boomers. You don't make more money by waiting around and hoping maybe the company will throw you a few extra scraps one day, you make more money by finding a company that'll pay you what you're worth. The ones who don't get left behind and taken advantage of.

  11. Without derailing the thread too much, it depends on the industry. For some jobs, a shaky work history is definitely a red flag, for others (like tech for instance) it's pretty acceptable to jump around quite a bit. Like everything, it ultimately boils down to how talented your are.

  12. This type of reporting doesn't fit their narrative sadly. Unfortunately, journalism has taken on quite a different meaning over the past 10-20 years. Sad because it makes those who do a great job be overshadowed far too often. Really hoping this is the last notable case of serial abusers in college athletics as it seems like this past decade has brought to light too many scumbags.

  14. Very sad to hear things like this if true, and to know folks let it go on. Not sure what kind of a person you have to be to ignore things like that. ****Disclaimer: Terrible Insensitive Joke Below**** The only thing known at Nebraska in the last 20 years has been the molestation of the football program by those in charge.

  15. Yes that's one of the things that crossed my mind as well. The opting out for players who are looking at a possible high draft selection in their future but now are also faced with an additional 3-4 games to the season. Maybe opting out won't be an issue however. 12 teams, 8 teams, 6 teams. In the end I am very glad that the CFP is finally actually expanding. 4 just wasn't enough.

  16. If big programs reward this sort of behavior they are just asking to see more of it. However, it is at least possible this says more about the disarray of the Louisville program than it does Luke McCaffrey. https://kentuckysportsradio.com/football-2/qb-luke-mccaffrey-transfers-from-louisville-as-soon-as-he-arrives-on-campus/

  18. If Luke wants to come back and play WR/RB I'm all for it. He would be a great wideout and was well-liked on the team, plus from a PR/outside perception standpoint it would be good to see someone leave and then ultimately decide things were better here. If we want another DB we should go hard after the guy who just bounced from KU, Karon Prunty. He might be out of our league but he is an incredible player.

  21. Are they going to put a cap on number of teams from the same conference? 5 teams from the SEC in a 12 team playoff would be a load of crap.

  22. Not to detract too much from the OP but I want nothing more than frosty to turn this thing into a juggernaut and run it up on some of these teams for a change. Outside of ohio state, this league deserves a f'n thumping from Big Red on fall saturdays for all the ridiculous takes and BS aimed at this program. While perhaps not the most sportsman like, i want a few games up 42-14 in the 4th and we add a couple more 7's to the board. Piss off some of the stodgy AF media members in this league who have a gripe about a game but dont report on s#!t like the original story here. Back to the OP- that article and this story is absolutely horrific and disgusting. Particularly the piece of him getting punched closed fist by his "dad" at the age of 10 after mentioning this to him. What an absolute piece of s#!t, can't wait to see how Kevin Warren and big10 responds to this after decades of parading Bo around as the face of this league and coaching excellence

  23. I put Indiana Hoosiers as #2 in the east. Penn State #3 and slightly above Michigan. The West is really up for grabs. Any combination of the top 5 could end up 1st & 2nd.

  24. Bolts salary is competitive for the BIG. The average salary is 300k- he is at 300K. As this was his first head coaching gig at this level- the salary was about right, even generous. However the average compensation for the BIG 12 and ACC is about 700k and the SEC is about 900K. Sure we could get Bolt to the top of the BIG and still not hold onto him. Looking at it from Bolts perspective- the anvil of the BIG conference is hanging around his neck lots of money in places- conferences that value baseball is enticing. To keep the upstart teams in the SEC, BIG12 or ACC at bay, that compensation is going to need to be competitive with theirs. Maybe to be safe make it more merit driven- conference titles, regionals, CWS. Once its evident this is consistent- then pop his salary up to top 10 level. https://www.athleticdirectoru.com/articles/2020-p5-baseball-compensation/

  28. I'm glad DVH elevated the standard for Nebraska baseball, that's good. I don't know what else he was supposed to say in those press conferences. But I'm still not gonna root for Arkansas. You don't slander the good name of Morris John "Mojo" Hagge. That man gave his life in the War of 1812. Show some respect. But seriously, **** their redneck fans.

  32. Agree. If we are going to continue to build the program, make it a destination good players want to come to.

  33. Some say 12 is too many. Until the day when Nebraska is the 12th team and gets a crack at the Natty. Imagine 2009 Nebraska with Suh sneaking into a playoff. Who knows what could have happened. Being hot at the right time.
