Anyone else think that CMC got so butthurt about this because he and/or his family members were the ones that gave said bad advice to Luke?8 points

Logan seems to be quicker and Haarberg has the bigger arm. I think a lot of people are jumping to a lot of conclusions that Frost is changing a lot of things about how he recruits. They claim he changed to recruit bigger linemen even though his first class had three OL that were 6-6 or taller. They claimed he was changing to recruit bigger backs but the commit we just got is 5-11, 185. They claimed he was recruiting taller, more pass-first QBs. Frost specifically said that how tall the QB is isn't really a priority. He talked about how he's had success with all different kinds of QBs. So I think the talk is overblown. I think they find the guys they like best that they can get interested in coming to Nebraska. Some are a little better at one thing and others are a little bit better at something else. Verdu specifically said Smothers is a little inconsistant in his release point. It was something they knew coming in and had worked on it but then it cropped up again this spring. He doesn't expect it to be an issue going forward but it sounds like that was the source of a lot of the "struggles" Smothers had this spring. But from all accounts Smothers runs the offense very well and is pretty accurate. So I think the comments that he is the odd man out are premature. It could still end up being the case but I think it's far from decided at this point.7 points

why is he acting like Frost said his name? He mentioned two guys transferring and then transferring again. We all know who he was talking about but its not like he was dragging the McCaffrey name through the mud. Would people outside of Nebraska fans really know what coach Frost was talking about or even been reading what Frost said unless CMC tweeted about it?5 points

While I am pro-life, I'd be surprised if the court did a full reversal of Roe. I think Roe was a bad case, a bad ruling, a bad precedent. With that said, I don't see abortion going away under any court soon.4 points

And he really wasn't even critical of Luke. He was critical of the advice he may have been getting. Maybe @PasstheDamnBallGuy is on to something...4 points

He seems to have solid vision and balance. Haven't been able to say that for awhile. It is really getting to the point of put up or shut up at the RB position. Held is supposed to be this ace recruiter etc. and our most productive RB has been a Riley recruit in Ozigbo.4 points

Whew. Thank goodness we actually had some Nebraska film to show him...4 points

I am an eternal optimist in recruiting so I naturally disagree, but the good thing is this class has no bearing on what this program becomes or does this year, or the next. What I do like about this class so far is that all these players have high ceilings, underdeveloped bodies, and chips on their shoulders. Hear me out but the best part about this class is that they get one important luxury that no class under Scott has gotten so far, and thats the ability to develop at their own rate. We can redshirt most, if not all of them, and allow each one to get bigger, stronger, and faster before they have to play a down. And if that happens, these kids are plenty good to make some noise when their time is ready.4 points

Trump's sweeping assessment of wind power is, of course, based on a singular incident involving Trump himself. Scotland was building a wind farm next to a golf course Trump owned, and Trump thought the windmills ruined the view. So naturally he sued Scotland. And lost. The wind farm was built, energy was saved, carbon emissions were reduced and people still played golf. But Donald Trump never forgets an enemy, even if they're inanimate objects. The real takeaway is that Trump was given a national forum to remind people why he's a better President than Joe Biden and he chose to talk about windmills killing everything.3 points

Over the past couple weeks, engaging in conversations with folks in this subsection, there have been many conversations where people who identify as Christians are defending billionaires, billion dollar corporations and their own greed and way of life. People who s#!t on others not so fortunate to defend people so greedy they would take everything if they could. They say they will not change their own lifestyles for the benefit of others. There are a lot of things in the bible that can be up for interpretation, but when it comes to wealth and being rich (and slavery) the bible makes it pretty damn clear what Jesus thinks about wealth and being rich and people who think this way. Im not sure if these people have not read their bible or they just dont care, but here are some scripture passages to review so you can at least attempt to live and think the way Jesus wants. Or just denounce your christianity and live and think the way you want. But you cant have both because Jesus is pretty damn clear on this issue. Like Gandhi once said “Id be a Christian if it were not for the Christians. I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ” Luke 16:14-15 First Timothy 6:10 Matthew 6:24 Matthew 19:23-26 “"I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”2 points

That story has no bearing on you calling the US Bishops child molestors as a whole. If you want to call individual priests or bishops that have been shown to conduct in that abhorrent behavior, I’ll be right with you calling it out.2 points

I gotta be honest, I would be scared, really scared, if I was caught in a situation where my car was surrounded. I really don't feel like I could run people over and floor it, but I would be freaked out, big time, if people tried opening the doors or breaking the windows.2 points

Exactly correct @BIG ERN, excellent example of click bait by Mitch Sherman. Unfortunately, as is so common anymore, twitter users take a tweet at face value instead of reading more deeply into the context of the quote. Thank you @Farms for posting the full quote, no context needed. I don't view the McCaffrey brothers or family in a poor light whatsoever. I am all for them finding the best opportunities for themselves, however I do wish they would have received the full quote instead of relying on a sports writer's click bait spin. Can't help but think they would be removing the posts if they took the time to read Frost's answer and not assume every transfer quote is about their brother.2 points

I think about this a lot. I think Ryan Held has one big problem in terms of being a coach. I think he needs to find a balance between developing the guys he has in his room, and not always looking to replace or recruit the next big star. He has a personality that tells me he is quick to move on to the next thing. The Divine situation resembling that to some extent. I am afraid that Marvin Scott is being overlooked, and he will end up proving to everyone that he's more than capable and durable. And if this doesn't happen, then the ace recruiter label needs to be reevaluated.2 points

Will it make you feel better if I tell you it's only a slight exaggeration? https://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2015/10/23/450826208/why-calling-slaves-workers-is-more-than-an-editing-error Or that even conservatives think Texas schoolbook propaganda goes too far? https://www.historians.org/publications-and-directories/perspectives-on-history/january-2019/texas-revises-history-education-again-how-a-good-faith-process-became-political2 points

From what I've seen/read it would in in addition to a "secret" scrimmage and an exhibition game against a state college (i.e. Wayne State, Chadron State) and would be similar to when we played at Mississippi State and the revenue went to hurricane relief. Essentially it would be a third preseason game.2 points

I haven't read up on it, but I'm going to guess that Critical Race Theory is controversial and flawed, but probably a better starting point for the discussion than removing the word "slave" from Texas school books and replacing it with "workers."2 points

In regards to the amenities and spotlight etc. It was a large step down. Looking at the world of players being able to profit coming to fruition only makes that divide greater for "small" market teams with smaller followings etc. Frost never once criticized guys for transferring but instead criticized those giving them terrible advice. Obviously the ones giving them advice took offense.2 points

One thing that I find interesting is that people say "Frost transferred, so he shouldn't be criticizing", however Frost's comments this week are that "kids are transferring and ending up in worse schools (situations) than they previously were". When Frost transferred, he IMPROVED his situation. He went from an average team which had their coach just retire (Stanford) to Nebraska (which had a spot for him as a starter and was competing for national championships). I know NU hasn't been great in CFB recently, but other than academics, is Rice a better football program/situation for Luke than Nebraska? Again, I'm not hurt that Luke transferred or even the comments by Christian, but the comments by Frost have been honest and truthful.2 points

I'm sure there are lots of Republicans that feel like you do. However, it's something the party has to figure out and they need to distance themselves from Trump and all of the idolatry that is so rampant right now in a significant part fo the party. Otherwise, a majority of Americans are still going to have a problem supporting them or voting for them.2 points

They made the choice to go to college, and they should be free to choose to decide that it was a mistake and then go to a different one. It's not the military. Coaches won't like it, but who cares? Frost gets paid five million dollars a year, and if he gets fired will still get paid millions for failing, he can have the expectation of having to deal with stupid kids. Giving kids the right to move on whenever they see fit is not stupid, it's giving them the autonomy to be in control of their life. Forcing them to stay put is stupid - you never learn good lessons when you're coddled and protected, you only 'earn life's stripes' by taking risks.2 points
