  1. Rice is one of the best universities in the country. The McCaffreys were set for life even before CM was the best RB in the NFL, and Frost is a bit of a hypocrite for saying that players are tampered with as he brings in many transfers himself. This is myopic all around

  2. Transferring and taking transfers is not tampering, that's not what Frost was talking about. Tampering is when another school's coach reaches out to a player before they've entered the portal, which is still prohibited.

  5. Happens when you’ve had no football success since your tenure & cannot do official visits for a whole year…you are going to suffer when you are in a geographical wasteland for talent like NE. and you can’t recruit St. Louis, Omaha, or KC metro very well.

  10. Survival rate is high, yet I wouldn’t want to get it, regardless of how many people on Facebook say “hey, I had COVID, it was just slightly worse than the flu.” I wouldn’t want to be sick for a week, potentially have long-term effects, and have thousands of dollars of medical bills.

  12. Is he after his master’s ? If so, go get it for free. He just passed the torch of walking with a wheelchair participant during the Team Jack event to Nick Heinrich. They both walked walked this year but interview sounds like Nick will be the participant’s walking partner for upcoming years. Kind of hints that Honas will not be a husker next June.

  19. the fun part is that it's not just the fringe far right doing this...it is the republican party of arizona in charge of this. it goes to show how the far right is now controlling big parts of the republican party...the part the rest of the republican party refuses to recognize as taking control of the party as a whole. they kissed the ring of dear leader when he was openly begging the far right to keep him in power. they are not going to step up to the plate and fight against the band of crazies trump has brought together.now

  20. I've only gotten the seasonal flu once and I never f#&%ing want to have it again. Huge headache. Every hair on my body hurt. Switching between fever and chills every few minutes. Felt like death. That's why I get my flu shot every year now, and why I got the Rona vaccine. Plus I was so busy with work the first half of this year I quite frankly couldn't afford to get sick with COVID.

  33. We agree that Cawthorn is a dipsh*t. However, the quoted tweet is being (purposefully?) misleading. That or @stja_amy needs to do a bit more research. The staunch 2A folks that I know don't believe it was added to the Constitution so citizens can own guns to overthrow the Government...it was added so citizens can own guns to protect themselves from the Government.

  34. These are independent minor league teams and aren't affiliated with MLB and those minor league teams (which are now run by MLB). This minor league is a "partner" with MLB, however. These teams are using these guys for roster spots and games, and the players are getting some games and reps in prior to the MLB Draft. I am not sure how it works if/when these players are drafted or sign a free agent deal with a MLB organization. In the past, these players would report to a rookie/short season A-ball team. But, MLB overhauled minor league baseball, and I think they eliminated the rookie/short season teams. So, Roskam and Hroch may finish the season with the GJ Rockies, and then report to the MLB organization afterwards. Minor league baseball is really confusing right now with all of the recent changes.

  37. I think this is something people like to say but really isn't true. Not all the games mattered before. Alabama/LSU in 2011 was literally the most worthless game there was yet had a direct effect on the national championship game. In fact, you could argue that Alabama benefitted from losing that game because it gave them an easier path to the National Championship (no SEC title game). There is really no logical way to argue that games under the old system meant more to determining the national champion than they do now, nor in the future. Under the BCS and previous versions, most teams were out of consideration after one loss and everyone was out after two losses. Any further games were meaningless. Under a four-team playoff one loss doesn't necessarily eliminate you, thus more games are meaningful. Two losses wouldn't necessarily eliminate you from a 12-team playoff, thus more games are meaningful. It's fine for people to prefer a different system. But to argue that expanding the playoffs make games less meaningful doesn't hold water. There may be some games that lose meaning - like there have been before - but there are far more games that gain meaning than lose meaning.

  39. You post didn't suck. I went back and read it again since I was part of that previous conversation. I wish it had generated more replies. But it seems that often with topics like gun control, we easily go off on a tangent of arguing minor points back and forth rather than sticking to the bigger picture. Then people, like me, get fatigued with the whole argument on the internet thing and just move on without considering less flashy, but more sensical points of view. But, I could get on board with your suggestions. Nobody "needs" a handgun or assault riffle right now. Ownership of these could and should be properly vetted over a few weeks to make sure the weapons are not going to the wrong person. Gun violence just isn't taken seriously enough by about half the country, unfortunately. I absolutely don't get it and never have. And I own 7 guns, which is about 5 or 6 more that I really "need". Even 30 years ago, before I even "sniffed" anything in politics, I loved hunting, but was turned off by the NRA because I thought their 'oppose everything' approach to common sense gun control was idiotic.

  40. Isaac in my mind is a 5 star talent. If he were from a major city he would easily be a 5 star. College coaches have told me they think he is a 5 star talent. I think he will fit best in Hoiberg's system with his Elite shooting and the freedom he will have in the offense. Isaac is a natural shooter who can shoot/score from every level. Defense is something that I believe he can translate to the next level and will play right away because he will be able to play both ends of the floor. A fun player to watch and the best player in Nebraska outside of Omaha the last few years.
