  1. If they fire Frost after this season, then I am done with this program. You can't have 3 coaches in a span of just 7 years and expect success. Who the hell would want to coach here, knowing they only get 4 years to produce an 8 or 9 win season. No one, I repeat, no one would take us seriously anymore. We have to support Frost.

  4. The Big10 is not stacked against Nebraska.. It is a pretty good fit on many levels. We haven't been meeting anybody's expectations on the football field for years. That's on us. A poor football program is a poor football program no matter what conference it is in.

  5. Can people who want Nebraska to go skulking back to the Big XII just become Kansas State fans and leave the rest of us alone? We might as well join the MAC or the Sunbelt.

  6. Well ... Baylor has multiple 10-win seasons and a Heisman Trophy winner in their recent past. Which is significantly more than can be said of the Cyclones. So you should probably say the Big XII doesn't need us because they already have Iowa State.

  7. If you look at the details- Ed Stewarts wife looks like she relishes the idea that she is an "informant thanks to her husbands position"- and actually uses those words on tape. She then rallys the University Presidents wife to her cause of taking down the basketball program at Mizzou. Pretty heady stuff. The "playing grandma" narrative is nonsense. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1038147/posts For a moment just imagine you changed the characters to this story and we were talking about Jeff Jamrog. Say his wife had done something like this. If Jamrogs wife was caught on tape using the N word- telling a white player in hillbilly slang not to date black women and trying to take down an entire department, I'm thinking that would be disqualifying Jamrog from the position wouldn't it? Be honest- no one would be touching Jeff Jamrog with a 10 foot pole. People would be "appalled" that Nebraska would even be entertaining the thought. Lets talk about facts and scenarios- NOT personal attacks on messengers- which is the sign of no ammunition in the debate. There is too much at stake now to bring this type of unprofessional nonsense back to Nebraska. As to going back to the BIG12- I get it the BIG is a huge poorly managed disappointment, but that ship has sailed and you can never ever trust Texas.

  9. Another sign a person is not to be taken seriously would be going off the rails with multiple posts about what a potential replacement’s wife said 18 years ago and tossing in questionable race references along the way. But I’m guessing most everyone has that figured out.

  10. The Big XII is still on the way out. Question is where Oklahoma and Texas/Kansas will go, not if they’re staying. If there was ANY serious chance that the Big XII wouldn’t fold like Dan Beebe in front of Texas’ obnoxious brass buckles, they GOR would have been re-upped and expansion would have happened. To think the Big XII is a destination conference or that Nebraska is willing to go back to that dumpster fire masquerading as a conference is pure lunacy and a sign you shouldn’t be taken seriously.

  18. I guarantee you you're wrong. "Nebraska Makes Shocking Decision to Fire Coach After Four Straight Losing Seasons Because No Other School Would Fire A Coach Who Did That Bad They Would Obviously Only Fire Their Coach After Five or Six Losing Seasons" is not a headline that would ever exist. Florida fired Will Muschamp after going 28-21 in four years. Texas fired Charlie Strong after going 16-21 in three years. Miami fired Al Golden after going 32-25 in five years. Arkansas fired Bret Bielema after going 29-34 in five years. Michigan with Brady Hoke, 31-20 after four years. USC, Lane Kiffin, 28-15, 4 years. Scott Frost is currently 12-20. Nobody would think we did anything wrong if we fired him after 2021 for not making a bowl game. Although personally I would still give him at least one more year unless he goes anything worse than 5-7.

  19. How about 3 coaches in the span of 14-15 years? The expectation of something close to one 8 or 9 win season in 4-5 years is the expectation at every P5 school in America. Name a school/coach in the last 25 years who didn't get fired without something close to that in 4 years?

  24. You do realize the Big 12 we left is not the Big 12 today, right? Im glad it warms your heart envisioning consistent trips to west virginia like we did back in the 70s-2000s . Also for what its worth, if you want a Big 12 coach I'd argue frosty is prolly towards the top of that list, the offense he wanted to run here originally is what most of that conference rolls with today and has been somewhat the case for the past 15 years now. I'll say this, be careful what you wish for on the conference lines. This is about more than just football and, theorize all you want, the Big 12 will never surpass the Big 10 in revenue pouring into the conference. The size and prestige and alumni base of the Big10 schools is second to none in the college landscape. When viewing all teams, not just football, the Big10 brings in so many more positives for all sports in a way that the Big 12 simply cannot match. You're thinking too micro level assuming a return to the big12 automatically brings back glory days of the past. For instance, the Texas recruiting landscape is vastly different today than it was when we were in the Big12. A&M in the SEC has led to a major shift in recruiting trends in that state because now kids can go to a SEC school and still play games in their home state while in college- its no longer a story of mainly competing w/ Texas and Oklahoma for those kids like it was 10-20 years ago. Lastly, your claim of 100 years of tradition is just false. The Big 12 was literally a combination of the Big 8 and the SWC, stop acting like the shift 10 years ago was unheard of and broke up a century worth of standards. Its college sports, s#!t changes and frankly, nebraska made the right move at the time, and for the future, and there should be zero regrets about that

  25. Can you name one advantage of going back? There is just as many teams to beat us perennially OK, OK ST, Texas, Baylor, TCU, we'll still have an Iowa team to lose to Kansas State is basically Northwestern. We'll have a mind numbing loss to Kansas just like Illinois. We'll have less money, worse TV rights and be in a less respected conference. We'll have to deal with Texas's BS. I just don't get people's desire to go back. We left for good reasons that still exist.

  26. Ed Stewart as AD is nothing more than a political hire, he won't make a difference. long year coming up. Frost would need at least 8 wins to have a ghost of a chance of hanging on.

  27. With what happened with Moos nobody really knows but if they were to be worse this year, like 3-9, I don't see much hope of another year for HCSF. You need to see some signs of improvement in year 4 which we have not seen in his first 3 years. 6 wins & a bowl and I think he is safe IMHO.

  32. I have not read the bill, but have read commentary from news media on both sides of the aisle. It’s a shame I have to do that. I also saw the Wash Post fact checker give 4 Pinocchio’s for the incorrect early claims about the law’s restrictive voting times, etc. I do not see how this lawsuit goes anywhere. I suspect an attempted delay tactic through appeal until 2022 is over. It seems like there are new laws in other states that would be easier to go after. I can’t remember the details now, but there was a provision in the Texas law that made me raise an eyebrow.

  33. Also back in the day, men wore white shirts, black ties and suits and had crew cuts. And it’s debatable how well things worked for IBM considering they kind of missed the boat when computers became all the rage. You've made your point. We all understand your position. Discussion on a message board is not going to sway the actual decision one iota so maybe it’s time to let it go and move into more productive territory.

  35. While normally I'm 100% anti-SEC, I can absolutely get behind Mississippi State winning it all. I don't think the school has ever won a national title in...anything? Plus Mississippi State has been coming to Omaha for a lot of years...how that team with Will Clark, Bobby Thigpen and Raffy Palmero didn't win it all I have no idea. Lastly Ron Polk fought the good fight for a lot of years against the NCAA to carve out a niche for baseball, I'd honestly be pretty thrilled if they won. EDIT, just saw that Jeff Brantley was on that team too! Good grief!

  37. OK. This is pretty much what governors do. They sign bills. What makes RD stand out? Or, let me ask this. If Ben Sasse were to run for POTUS in 2024, would you vote for him over DeSantis? I appreciate your responses. I just don't know what makes RD stand out, other than controversy?? Ben Sasse, to me, seems like a pretty good GOP Senator (although, the bar is set pretty low these days, IMO). How would you compare RD to Sasse?

  38. Only if they are black OBVIOUSLY. I thought the dream was all about being judged by our character- has nothing to do with the color of our skin? Seems that is totally upside down now, especially in the BIG. Warren has immunity- due to his skin color- has nothing to do with his performance which has been AWFUL I guess he wants to publicize this as one of his "accomplishments" in his bid to parlay this gig into his ultimate goal of heading up the super woke NFL. Makes sense- since Mr Warren has had nothing but failures in the BIG so far to add to his weak "resume". His "love me" wall needs updating- he can add this to his list of "accomplishments" https://247sports.com/college/ohio-state/Board/120/Contents/Kevin-warren-needs-to-recuse-himself--150344618/

  39. There are tons of advantages of going back. IF Colorado becomes the 12th team along with us returning to the Big 12, our teams will not have to travel half way across the country to play most of our conference with Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas St. all in our back yard. Having North and South Divisions would allow us to avoid playing Texas every year like we currently do with that East Division team in the Big 10. Would be nice to be recognized in the title of the conference we belong to. Would be nice to return to our winning records against our conference foes rather than our current BADLY losing records. Would be nice to return to a conference that is ran by sane conservatives who have the ability to make sound decisions....Warren not allowing non-conference games for baseball (which cost us a very bad seeding in the CWS) while simultaneously allowing non-conference games for basketball...Warren not allowing Football to start until super late taking us out of the national spotlight and a chance for any of our teams to be in the playoff....Warren running a dumpster fire of a conference HQ. All of the teams in our division having no respect for us...Wisconsin cancelling our Football game AND our volleyball games. They say they tested positive, but who has the official say on the test results...is it not the Big 10 HQ lackeys? Big 10 giving cupcake schedules to Wisconsin while giving us the most difficult schedule they could come up with. Lets face it, the bridge from Lincoln to the Big 10 HQ was burned and buried at this point by Moos AND Frost (don't remember their comments about destroying the Big 10 in football before they even played a game?). You think we are going to stick around in this situation and let this play out for a few extra bucks? Compared to our 270+ million endowment and NU booster money, losing 10-20 million a year IS a few extra bucks.

  40. He's got experience. He's got physical talent. He's in shape and healthy. He graduated. And we saw how the time on the sidelines actually helped (Penn State and Illinois) his progress. I like the Wrs (Tourre, O Martin, Manning, Betts). I like our TEs (Austin Allen, Vokolek). I like our OLine (however I do think they will be a lot better as a group in 2022 as they continue to play together). And the most important thing is to get the team to play well together, so that all Adrian (aka "not taylor") has to do is play his game (and not have to carry the load so much).

  42. Wal-Mart has a presence in Arkansas outside of its headquarters. Microsoft has a presence in Washington outside of its headquarters. Nike has a presence in Oregon outside of its headquarters. The Big XII has no presence in Indiana or Indianapolis. What you're proposing would be like Waffle House putting its headquarters in Salt Lake City.

  43. It's ridiculous. They should have tested only the non-vaccinated players. And the game should have been played without the 2 positive players not vaccinated. Why? Because most people in society that got vaccinated are not wearing a mask and not getting tested at entrance. They are strolling into restaurants, into retail clothing stores, into grocery stores, etc. They are drinking from glasses, touching clothes on racks, touching fruits and vegetables, etc... and yet, they could possibly test positive for covid without knowing - and nobody is stopping them. But NCAA and baseball is different? SMH

  44. Getting actively involved in trying to getting coaches fired and bringing down an athletic department with the help of the University Presidents wife- isnt playing "grandma". Being overtly racist, in language and actions isnt something people are forgiven for these days even if it happened 18 years ago. Who is to say she doesnt feel the same way now? People that are married 20+ years usually think pretty closely alike. TOO MUCH to risk. It's like coaching- the people that cause you the most pain are the stay at home moms who have nothing better to do than scheme to make others lives miserable and make themselves feel like they are important- influential. MAJOR PITA. And remember once Ed Stewart is hired- he will have immunity akin to Kevin Warren. Will be difficult to remove him no matter his or his brides actions. Any action against him would be proof of systematic "racism" in our University system.

  45. Ed Stewarts wife is the wildcard. Seems like she thinks she has a job in the athletic department working hands on with athletes and trying to help take coaches down. https://www2.ljworld.com/news/2003/dec/12/clemons_chats_revealing/

  47. Yep, Ed Stewart is the next AD at NU. Ed is currently the Executive Associate Commissioner of Football for the Big XII. He will be perfect for negotiating our way back into the Big XII and securing us a Big XII coach who will do well in the conference. The Big 10 Experiment has failed. No amount of money can sweep away 100 years of tradition and the NU brass would much rather live in the shadow of OU than OSU. We are going back to the Big XII (Missouri and Colorado are also potentially returning). New member rules and a potential move of the Big 12 HQ to a more central (neutral) location on the negotiating table. Big 12 Network channel in the works, will eventually be making the money we currently make with the Big 10. North and South divisions for the Big XII are happening. Playing Texas will be rare for us. Matt Campbell will be replacing Frost after this season.
