  1. You undermine the credibility of your argument when you post stuff like this. CNN isn't left wing. MSNBC is pro-Dem party, so you could maybe call them left, but really none of the main stream media is left wing as MSM is pretty heavily pro-Wall Street and pro-corporate unlike the majority of the left. If you want to see the actual left wing then check out something like The Majority Report or The Rational National.

  2. I don't believe that for a minute. If you don't think Frost is still working towards the goals he set for the program when he first started, you're nuts.

  3. Not to dunk on college athletes (because, honestly, this was a long time coming... and they've been taken advantage of for quite awhile) but the last couple of days have felt like just a massive influx of tens of thousands of marginally crappy social media influencers.

  5. What is disappointing is we haven't seemed to learn from our mistakes. Have someone in the WINGS BEFORE you FIRE someone- unless said firee is causing harm to others. Disappointing. Have no problem with replacing Moos if he is AWOL- but have someone in the wings, committed and ready to replace him.

  6. Pertaining to the contract itself, I won’t argue. The announcement, no “retirement” press conference, no thank you for your service, nothing from coaches, and vague response about future vision.@Dr. Strangelove has a point that this wreaks of something not good. Not doom and gloom bad, but the lack of transparency comes off like weak leadership without direction. Not going too far down the rabbit hole, make me wonder if Moos was too much backbone for the B1G and his dissenting vote(s) put pressure on NU to make a change. Wonder if Moos was ready to actually lead something last fall or if he got whipped back in-line.

  9. In the trash next to climate science, epidemiology, democracy and whatever else the GOP doesn't believe in? PS - Sorry DeSantis is yet to openly call entire groups of people rapists and murderers. You're going to have to settle for the subtle forms of racism you're used to.

  10. ci·vil·i·ty noun formal politeness and courtesy in behavior or speech. https://www.npr.org/2019/04/12/712277890/keeping-it-civil-how-to-talk-politics-without-letting-things-turn-ugly Some tips for those 4th of July gatherings. "In a deeply divided America, a casual political debate can easily spiral into a shouting match — even if both parties set out to keep things civil. So how can we talk about thorny issues with people who fundamentally disagree with us?"

  12. Strictly Street Tacos: Taqueria Tijuana in South O, my favorite. Their al pastor and barbacoa is real good. The best lingua I’ve tried too, not the diced chewy lookin lingua, but slow cooked so it’s tender and the seasonings are flavorful (Then walk across the street to International Bakery. They have real good bolillos, empanadas, hostess style cupcakes, donuts. Bang for you buck too). Lina’s on 84th and Brentwood, different owners than all locations. That is the best Lina’s in town and their steak street tacos rival any in Omaha. Not as good but comparable to La Jua’s in Sioux City. Dos De Oros taco truck on 24th is a clutch spot too, especially for late night. Hard to find anything good to eat after 10pm in Omaha. Taco John > Taco Bell

  13. I have been screaming this from the rooftops since the day they fired Solich. I'm willing to bet that Alabama has at least five candidates to replace Saban when the day comes. It is honestly Beyond me that the powers-that-be that make the decisions completely fumble every opportunity they are given and what boils me the most is that they are being paid and often rewarded for these decisions. I just don't understand how you don't have a plan in place to replace a coach or an athletic director if something like this happens.

  14. Sorry. I may have misinterpreted what you were saying, @DevoHusker I think we can all agree neither DeSantis nor AOC are moderates.

  15. No offense but college basketball was maybe the most under-the-table-money sport out there so I don't really see how something like this is fundamentally changing anything? Instead of Duke or Kentucky funneling $2M through EYBL camps people are just going to do it in the open now.

  17. Who in the heck is doing that? You two are talking yourselves into a dither over this with no basis in facts. Nobody is happy with the record. Everyone's ultimate goal is still championships. Just because it's taking longer than expected, doesn't mean they aren't still working towards those goals. If we fire Frost, he will go somewhere else and be a very successful coach. I'm so sick and tired of...OMG.....We haven't won enough in a few years so fire everyone!!!! Meanwhile, every time you do that, the program does farther in the tank and is harder to pull it out.

  18. If there's no announcement soon, there's an issue. Upcoming retirement or not, Moos isn't told to go now, leaving the AD position vacant for an unknown amount of time, without an issue. If they don't announce a new AD within the next few days that means there's a reason Moos had to go. That reason could be anything from a performance issue to a health issue. There's good reason to be curious about all of this.

  20. Eh, nice try. Now they're getting paid AND getting NIL money. You can try to spin it differently but it's not going to work. And of course he supports NIL now. Anyone would be stupid not to.

  21. I don’t know about this. Admittedly, it was a very quick Google search so I may not be correct. But it appears Kinzinger voted to overturn Obamacare and voted for the GOP tax reform bill. He isn’t standing in the way of the GOP agenda, he just recognized the crazy people.

  22. GOP officials, on camera, have openly admitted to the purpose of these laws a decade ago. Give it up. Your party of America hating crazies have won the game. Stop trying so hard and enjoy your victory lap. Just like when some idiot strolled down the escalator and said that Mexicans are rapists and murderers and voters like you cheered, we tried to warn you that it would be a disaster? This is exactly like that moment.

  23. Pay him 3 million to leave, and still have to hire a search firm for a national search? I'd have thought they would have someone lined up already if they're booting him out. But if I've ever learned anything about these things it's that they don't make sense most times. Especially at Nebraska.

  24. Nebraska is such a joke at this point. Whatever is going on in North Stadium needs a revamp. Nobody is fooled by this. Have some balls and publicly fire the guy. Why go through the dog and pony show?

  26. I have never, and I mean never, dialed up Fox News by choice. Maybe saw it because it was on where I was at...but never saw it as a valid choice for news. I was a devoted CNN viewer for years...until they became obsessed with the cartoon that Trump became. I grew tired of the Neverending pablum they spewed with every story skewed anti Trump regardless of the overall value of the issue...and I despise Trump. I wat h neither now.

  27. I used to think so, but they shifted significantly in the last 5 to 10 years and seem to be obsessed with Trump and Fox News. Very disappointing. I remember going to to headline news just to get the 30 minute summary.....repeated for 24 hours. Now they are like reading an OpEd.

  29. about Mexican food.. Here in south Florida many Mexican restaurants have closed. Most also are influenced by the Caribbean diet, way too much black beans and stuffing rice into everything. Little town of Atlantic, IA, where I went to high school, has a better Mexican restaurant than what I can find down here. On the drive down to S. Fl. I made a stop in Macon, Mo, and saw a Mexican restaurant across the street. So I went and that was good, too. *sigh* I can't stand black beans. Or mangos. *blech* An observation about Missouri: even the gas station mini-marts sell all sorts of booze. But then, if one lives in Misery, one wants easy access to booze any time.

  32. I figured with the sudden nature of his "retirement" they would have somebody to fill the job this week. After all, we've been down this road a few times. The only thing I can figure is they wanted him out and it needed to be before the end of the fiscal year. But once again we are in search mode with the job vacant.

  35. Say what you will about years of under the table dealings and the contradictory nature of college athletics, but there were plenty of people who did play by the rules and do things the right way. You can't always retroactively fix the past based on modern day standards, rules and applications of said rules.
