  1. Can we settle the argument about grammar? Grammar is important. Capitol letters are the difference between “helping your Uncle Jack off a horse” and “helping your uncle jack off a horse.” However, there is one caveat; Nebraska55fan doesn’t have an Uncle Jack. Therefore, he can only help his uncle. This is why he can be easily upset by the grammar police. He’s at a significant disadvantage. To make matters worse, he’s dropped his mic and he’s been waiting for a response to a pointless argument for a long time. Oh shoot, I’ve appeared to have dropped my mic as well.

  2. NU will start off 3-0 and head to Norman ranked in the top 25, they will lose that game but they won't drop much and they will hang around 20-25 all year.

  4. Look, we get it. You’ve said it numerous times. We understand the point you are making. Now extend the same courtesy to others. Virtually everyone else in this conversation is saying hindsight is 20-20 and it’s a bit ridiculous to keep harping on it. You don’t have to agree but damn.

  5. This is probably one of a few bullet point reasons why Moos retired. Probably pulled a Murtaugh too... Apologies for the expletive, but I figured you can't pull a Murtaugh GIF w/o showing the expletive. It's internet law or something.

  6. To be clear, it is entirely unacceptable to suggest Kevin Warren quit as commissioner and go off to get another "diversity person position." The implication there is quite obvious. It doesn't matter if you think his race played a role in his hiring as B1G commissioner. He is a college educated attorney who has worked not only in law firms but in several important front office positions for a number of professional sports franchises, many of which were positions that had nothing to do explicitly with diversity and inclusion. He could quit and get a job in any number of roles or positions.

  7. Wins are not a QB stat, they are a team stat.

  8. Rewatching our games, a lot of people's complaints about Adrian are issues that oftentimes stem from the line or receivers. That's not to say he never misses a receiver or read or doesn't do boneheaded stuff every so often, but our pass pro was horrendous at times last year and we had no one getting separation beside Wandale. Overall Adrian is vastly a plus for our offense far more often than he's a negative and if we all expect some improvements in pass pro and at receiver, I think he is primed for a big year. I'm fully aware that the "Pass was complete/incomplete so the QB must be good/bad" crowd will not care about this but FWIW I think he's about to go off.

  9. What it comes down to is anyone trying to blame Frost for picking Martinez over Joe Burrow is invoking a heavy dose of revisionist history in an attempt to make a cheap point. Coming off of 2018, no one, dare I say not even LSU's coaching staff, knew what Burrow would do in 2019 (to the point where he wasn't on any preseason All-SEC team), and it's very easy (and mostly accurate) to say that a large part of his record setting season (season, not career) boils down to the historic amount of support he had around him. If Joe Burrow comes to Nebraska, he's not "Joe Burrow". There's no Heisman and he's not the #1 pick overall, because his 2019 season is nowhere near as historic as it was.

  11. My mistake was a simple oversight, and I owned up to it. I didn’t attempt to hide it, and I’m not at all embarrassed by it. I make plenty of grammatical errors, but it doesn’t render my posts unreadable. More importantly, I didn’t complain that someone held me accountable. You’ve illustrated on multiple occasions that you will complain that you’re being held to a standard, rather than learning from your mistake(s). “Classic…” Your mistakes are a clear indication of your lack of attention to detail and understanding of basic grammatical concepts. Similarly, you’ve shown that you lack a basic understanding of statistics and inferential statistical analysis. Based on simple data collection from this site, we can infer that the majority of us find your comments and “insights” comical. In fact, I look forward to reading your next predictable and unoriginal rant about Kevin Warren. Based on last week’s cadence of posts, you’re overdue! Is that because your uncle needed your help? Dang it! I’ve managed to drop my mic again.

  15. It is trust me. My take from neighborhood talk is that more women turned away from Trump in 2020, but these same women were about to recall a liberal to moderate school board over COVID handling. More of an anti Trump vote versus Biden vote.

  17. I live in VERY conservative Douglas county Colorado. We hit the 70% vaccination rate some time ago and I think are over 50% among the young ones. We also happen to be a very affluent and well educated county. Maybe that has something to do with it, not sure. I suspect Trump won this county easily. In another note, Lindsey Graham is vaccinated and has COVID. His statement was still positive toward getting vaccinated. This RI Dem leader....not so much. There are hateful people on both sides.

  22. I almost get the sense from reading your follow up post that whoever wrote this might distrust the government...at least the Republican/Conservative side. I will take look however. I was very young, but loved the Gipper. He was sort of like a Grandpa, memory loss and all. My distrust of politicians comes from them lying all the time, and denying events when they get caught. It's harder to get away with nowadays. Also the fact that the decisions they make are not for us but for them to stay in power. Too many games being played. Both sides. Seems like very few politicians have been straight shooters over the years, and the ones that are don't last long or are bat crap crazy.

  23. It's the "10-3" part that skews it so hard. But also look at who they had at RB, receiver, and what their offensive line consisted of. In 2018, Martinez had 17 TDs and 8 INTs. And our offensive yards per game was a ridiculously awesome stat that year at a whopping 456. Then Ozigbo, Morgan, Farmer, & Foster graduated and the 2019 pass protection goes way downhill. I can definitely entertain the arguments that maybe the Cigar Man isn't good at developing QBs but I'd just be pretty leery of doing a mental exercise where Joe Burrow is plugged into our 2019 team and significantly changes the W/L column, personally.

  24. No one here has said different. No one said he would have won the Heisman or been a first round pick here- the net is HE OWNED the skills to do so. Did you watch Joe play? I watched nearly all of his 2019 games- because I love watching great teams and players. He is very uniquely talented- his skills transcend whatever team he ends up on. His accuracy and decision making are right at the top of anything Ive ever seen in college football.

  26. The interior of our O-line was truly atrocious at pass pro in 2019. There was almost immediate rush up the middle in every obvious pass situation. It's the whole reason they moved Farniok to guard.

  27. The pass protection in 2019 was unbelievably bad. Maybe Burrow would have been better at just tossing the ball into the crowd, but receivers weren't getting separation and there was rarely much time to scan the field. Last year this area was a bit improved but receivers still struggled greatly to get open IMO, thus Adrian tucked it and ran it quite a bit to try to move the chains on his own. If guys aren't getting open and the pocket collapses almost instantly, I kind of doubt Joe Burrow changes the Win/Loss columns by much.

  28. It's difficult for any QB to put up the numbers Joe Burrow did in his national championship and Heisman-winning season. In fact, no college QB ever had numbers like that in the history of stacked teams and stat-friendly offenses. Even harder to go to the NFL and put up big numbers for the worst team in the league as a rookie. I get it. Joe Burrow is the quarterback that got away, but also the quarterback who didn't appear to be a game-changer halfway through his college career. He is almost certainly a better quarterback than Adrian Martinez is or will ever be, but you can't blame Scott Frost for not knowing that given the 2018 landscape. Unprovable, of course, but a pretty reasonable assumption that Nebraska wins a few more games with Burrow, and Burrow doesn't win a Heisman with Nebraska's supporting cast. Defending Scott Frost doesn't require diminishing Joe Burrow.

  33. Nobody said he couldn't have won us some games. How many of those games did we lose because of our quarterback or did we have a chance to win but our quarterback failed to excel? Which ones, specifically? Nobody thinks he couldn't have helped us win games. "NOT WHAT I SAID", I think is how you put it. Not at the time he wasn't. Boy I'd say...

  34. I don't recall heavy talk about covid hospitalization and deaths last year concerning kids (under 18), especially 12 and under. Like, even college kids were ok around covid. Makes one wonder why social media and cable tv news networks have been increasingly talking about this sudden children covid crisis now for the past month? A striking message with fear for children getting covid. It seems to align with getting them vaxxed, when 8 months ago it wasn't a thing. Or 16 months ago. Or 4 months ago. What changed so suddenly?
