  1. holy crap. Some of you probably should actually listen to the full press conference and not just talking heads on the forum and twitter. Yes, he said that they changed their front and that isn't what the planned out, but they did have contingences in place to go against a 4 man front, and they practiced it. Just not as much as the 3 man front. And, the hell, with the showing up at noon thing? That just sounds like sour grapes. As many have stated, they have morning practice, and if he isn't showing up till noon. who is the guy that looks like Scott in all the practice videos? To give Dumas the benefit of the doubt, maybe during the summer they didn't show up until Noon, but it is summer time. Listen, Scott has not done the job we all have wanted him to do, but this piling on s#!t is getting old.

  2. If we can also agree that he never ever should have said that out loud….twice.

  4. This is a good team and I feel like 7 wins is still a real goal. We know about the mistakes the Huskers made in week 0. But also, illinois made some plays too (punt coverage on CTB, the fumble scoop and score, the downfield throw and catch producing another score). It would be great to be 1-0, but the only game that matters is the one in front of you. I'm ready for the home game and getting back on track. Enjoying one game at a time.

  5. I think it would be "real good" to merge this thread with the Fordham presser thread.

  6. I didn't even click on it. I don't dabble in right wing news outlets faced with numerous lawsuits and a history of editing videos. Additionally, the right wing anti-intellectual argument that education brainwashes kids into being left leaning is absolutely hilarious. Newsflash: the reason highly educated people voted for Biden is because they live in reality. The reason right-wingers are putting a deworming drugs up their asses and are dying of a disease we have vaccines for is because they see dumb misinformation videos from outlets like this.

  7. Usually I dont care what color a team wears for home or away. With recent pressers though I am worried Buffalo coming out in a dark color could cause Frost to lose half the gameplan

  8. Everything about his demeanor is like a teenager whose parents can see through his bullsh#t. He doesn’t appreciate or like being held accountable. He stares off into space and just says whatever he thinks will get him in the least trouble. Completely immature and unprofessional. Nothing is going to change or improve moving forward. He’s done.

  11. I don't understand why people are so cryptic with rumors. If you have a juicy rumor, share it. It's just a college football message board. It's not like you're going to be assassinated or anything like that.

  13. Jesus @Archy1221, this is a new low. Which is impressive for you. This group is known for editing videos. It should not be taken seriously, nor should the individuals who continue to spread the idiotic videos they make.

  14. What do you expect him to say after one game and 11 left? Do you expect him to say, "well, we proved we suck, we aren't going to win more than two games all year"? Yeah, that would go well with motivating the team to move on from the loss.

  15. There's no way I'm believing this! Tony is going to come out of retirement and step away from his multi-million dollar TV gig to come in and deal with this dumpster fire?!

  16. Anyone else just not even care about the weekly pressers anymore? Just show me on the field at this point. Talk is cheap after 3 years and how the 4th has started.

  17. Without saying too much, there are rumors that there may be a coach in America somewhere who let money and fame and celebrity go to his already exceedingly arrogant and big headed ego and started sleeping around with multiple hot chicks in the area, the kind of hot chicks that would like to get with a well built, good looking, rich and famous man eventually leading to a pregnancy which naturally may or may not have resulted in significant marital issues leading to some degree of substance abuse or lack of substance abuse which in turn led to slacking which may or may not lead to his team performing at a subpar level consistently.

  19. Nebraska would not be able to pry Matt Campbell from Iowa State but Paul Rhoads would be PROUD to take the job. He's already proven he can win at Nebraska. Wonder what Gene Chizik is doing nowadays?

  20. I feel fairly sure you might be misinterpreting something or extrapolating something too far. What it seems like is going on is that Frost basically looks at who starts at WR judging by effort level during the whole week of practice. Pretty sure that 8/22 - 8/27 was looked at for who would start. It seems like he's looking at effort level in practice and it is just my opinion that it's possibly primarily run blocking effort. I don't think it's behavioral or anything like that where it could even be tangibly measured from the kid's high school football career. Anyway. I am not sure if Manning was in for the entire first half...then has a great first down conversion with YAC on a nice crossing route in the 3rd quarter. If I'm right on this theory, how in the hell does a 6'4", 220 lb. physical specimen like Manning not get playing time early in the 1st quarter over a kid like Wyatt Liewer? That part makes absolutely no sense.

  21. Red Carpet = Here's a ticket that has no value. Enjoy. Good luck getting people to keep forking over cash in 2022. I give Trev credit for goin all in, but this is just temporarily plugging a hole. They need to win games They need to drop ticket prices They need to remove or widen seats Saturday is no longer a cash cow until they put a product on the field people are willing to pay for.

  23. Tony, you had a good career as player and coach, but stop pushing this narrative. Nebraska doesn't even want you in the state they are in.

  24. I guess I'm maybe a minority in that I agree that players need to bring it every day to practice and have their heads in it and work hard. Betts had a problem last year not knowing the offense and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. If he's not practicing well and not paying attention to detail, you have to play the guy who is.

  25. No idea on permanent replacement, but word is the leaks on Frost are indeed intended to be able to fire with cause sooner rather than later. Trev has ties to Tony Dungy from his NFL days and apparently has been in talks for Dungy to take over as interim head coach for the rest of the year while Trev conducts thorough search for a permanent replacement with the thinking that Dungy will stem the tide of players and recruits leaving the program. Crazy times!

  27. Just leaving this here. I've had many discussions in this thread concerning Republican politicians pushing policies that are killing their constituents. Here's an interesting graph. EDIT: I would expect that if Florida was included, the results of this graph would be even more stark.

  29. He won't though! He's got too much ego to give up calling the plays. He shouldn't be doing it as the head coach, we pay an OC for a reason. Frost's stubborness is really ******* me off!

  30. Who says he needs to work 15 hours? Show up in the morning and put in a full days work. Maybe spend more time preparing for a 4 man front, because apparently that can be enough to f#&% up your offense. Go listen to Trev talk about championship habits, it matters. I assure you guys like Saban and Dabo are putting in the work.

  32. This weird idea that NU can't get "back" The crazy media and the dorky fans that did all the could to run off Bo and his 9/10 wins and 1st/2nd place division finishes even realize that being "back" is pretty freaking easy. Frost was a homerun hire that did not work out, it happens. When Coach Gus Malzahn is here things will be very different. NU will have the first or second best coach in the conference the second he signs.

  33. I’m for letting it end Oklahoma is next in line, and it will be 40 more years before they achieve it. Most of us will be dead or disinterested. what will be embarrassing is a “sell out” with 50 percent or less of the stadium full.

  34. Im going to disagree with this. I was at the game and rewatched it last night. He holds onto the ball too long, and doesn't sense the pressure well, never has really. He got sacked 5 times, that isn't all on the Oline. Hes a great kid, he just isn't a very good QB at all on so many fronts. He is however the best option we have now at winning because our QB coach sucks at choosing and developing players. HE OVERTHREW TWO VERY WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS ON MEDIUM THROWS THAT WERE SURE TDS. HE HAD TIME ON BOTH THROWS. He fumbled the ball which was returned by the other team for a TOUCHDOWN. He has LED THE NATION in QB fumbles- and he did more of the same in game 1. We lost by 8 points- you do the math.

  36. If Frost plays these guys in spite of their practice habits his detractors will flip the story to, "He lost the team by not holding gifted players accountable." That was already a gripe with Washington. Frost is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

  39. You know why people throw off their back foot? Either the rush is too fast to step into the throw or the QB anticipates non existent pressure which is what happens much much too often in AM’a case. He is too focused on the rush instead of what’s going on in the defensive backfield.

  42. I wouldn't put any significant amount of my own money down on us winning these next two games after what I saw on Saturday. The question is no longer about the level of talent on the team. There are so many other questions out there, some of them being: 1. Does the team even want to win football games? 2. Do the coaches know how to put the players in a position to win football games? 3. Does our team have any kind of an edge at all that allows them to overcome adversity during a game? And the list goes on and on.

  43. I mean our offense has statistically gotten worse every year. Multiple games our offense has disappeared in the 2nd half. Then we have quotes like the one from Frost yesterday. I'm worried the book is out on Frost, and the book is he can't adjust. At UCF he tore it up for one season, there wasn't the continuity for DC's to figure him out. Year 1 Nebraska same thing. He wasn't a known quantity. First drive last year against OSU, absolutely beautiful. Frost is an absolute genius on scripting a game plan against a known quantity. But guess what, as soon as a good DC adjusts to Frost - his offense falls apart.

  45. Yes that is what I see too. I've been there as well - many years ago. I had a regional president, not the one I reported to, who for whatever reason, I could not get on his good side in spite of my good performance reviews. I knew I was a dead man walking even though it was months before I left the company. (Fortunately my praying wife was looking in the want ads for me and found a new position in my profession and I gave my notice the same day the company was going to let me go - They instead gave me a retainer for the next 3 months to help them on the side - answer to prayer for sure - but I digress) You feel paralyzed in even making constructive changes because of the weight on ones shoulders. Compounding Scott's on field issues are the off field issues. He's in a state of denial, not willing to be accountable (or so it seems), and stuck. Some of the things he has said recently prove he is stuck in paralysis thinking - having to throw out half the play book because Illinois was in an even front not a odd front is just one example. It creates a toxic environment and perhaps this explains all of the transfer portal moves away from Nebraska. The pressure of the job was too much. But pressure reveals what is within and it seems to have come out full force since Scott got here. He's gone from golden boy to mud in a short period. I for one have started to pray for the guy - not for Husker winning sake but for him as an individual. He may need to crash to the bottom to come out of tailspin he seems to be in. However, that doesn't mean Nebraska has to ride the ride with him down to the bottom. Ok, I'll take off my arm chair psychologist hat and put back on my arm chair AD hat.
