  1. Jim Harbaugh can suck a railroad spike. The POS wouldn't even give a post game interview, he was skipping off the field like a little b!^@h. Deception, yeah ok. Nevermind we got flagged on rules that had to be dusted off or invented on the spot, and he was awarded 2 touchdowns that had to be reviewed on one drive and another even though there was 0 time on the playclock, and they got a new set of downs for a pass interference where his receiver ran into our defender, and that they only got 3 up on us on a fumble that should've been blown dead seconds earlier. I coule probably keep going. But yeah Jim. Go ahead and complain more about your win you whiny dork.

  2. Because when given his chances he whiffed on a protection, and didn't convert a 2nd and 2 because he went the wrong way. We ended up punting. Probably also doesn't end up with 105 yards receiving like Johnson did. Don't get me wrong, I would've liked to see more of him. But he's getting in his own way.

  3. When damion Daniels got tackled, they threw that flag for holding. The lead ref over turned the flag and disguised it with a no foul for illegal formation. That’s my gut feeling.

  4. I know Yant is popular on here, but his mistake is something that can really screw up the offense. If the rest of the players can't trust that he will be in the right spot, it can creates bad plays and turnovers. Also, Johnson played his a$$ off the last quarter and a half, and I don't think Yant was missed after his benching.

  6. Iowa gets gifted 4 interceptions against Penn State - one of them inside the red zone - and only manages to put up 23 points on the board. Their play of the game was taking out PSU's QB; that was their only chance at winning that game, and they got it. Just to get ahead of it, our team is a perennial 5-7 dumpster fire...and with that out of the way I'll go ahead and say that this Iowa team may be the most overrated college football team of all time.

  7. I think we are going to beat Minnesota just how we did Northwestern.

  8. If we lose to Minnesota or Purdue, none of these close losses and progress we've shown will matter. We must beat them both.

  9. Maybe he realized his job was in jeopardy. Decided to take a real hard look at areas we were lacking. I think it was Allen who was quoted by McGrath that Frost was a lot more focused and demanding on the guys..... I still need to remind myself he came here with 2 years as HC in the AAC....Throw in a relatively inexperienced staff I look at Ruud as ILB coach, where the successful teams in the B1G have rock star LB's....as an example of the learning curve they have faced. The covid year, missing 4 games equates to the players missing approx 12-15 practices per bowls.....Dude is learning on the fly in the deep end of the pool. I'm still concerned. Still hope he succeeds, but the margin of error gets smaller with each loss. Because he knows as well as we do, he was not brought here to lose in a respectable fashion, but win....

  10. Your post makes the team sound like a total mess. They're not I've watched this team compete with some of the best in the country the past few weeks. We could still useote talent and depth at some spots, but we're a pretty damn good team right now......even with those deficiencies.

  11. Some contend the biggest reason why Dems have lost support is that they aren't good at articulating what they stand for, compromise too quickly and easily, and trot out uncharismatic candidates precisely because they seem moderate. All Joe Biden was asked to do is not be Trump. The low bar gets a bit tiresome. It's not that the party leans too progressive. The problem is that Democrats handed the mantle of populism over to the Republicans. Biden, Hillary & Bill and Obama are the very definition of centrists, and could have run as Republicans for much of the 20th Century. Right now, everyone with a D is considered a Socialist by Republican fund raisers.. Republicans continue to win the messaging war. It's up to the American majority to find a candidate that fights for their values.

  12. I get that, but we need two capable backs. Seems like our coaches have a horrible grip of the RB room. They finally found Rahmir who started as #4 on the depth chart, but can clearly be the guy who takes 50+% of the snaps at RB. Rahmir does a lot of things really well, but at 185lbs he's not a guy you can run consistently between the tackles in the B1G. Yant is young, and made mistakes - but it would behoove the coaching staff to continue to get him reps and confidence. We are gonna need more than Johnson. Guys like Adrian, Jurgy , Benhart, Turner, were given a chance to make mistakes and grow on the field. Seems like some guys are given leeway and some guys make one error and are put on a milk carton. Maybe it's just how Held runs his room.

  15. https://sports.yahoo.com/jim-harbaugh-blasts-nebraska-alleges-121112627.html Wow tone deaf or just a douche? I choose both. The refs handed Michigan the game and this guy’s yapping away complaining.

  17. Red zone offense is likely to improve as our offensive line does. I believe it's something Osborne told Frost, but he has said "get old and stay old". I don't think it can overstated that in year 4 we are competing with top 10 teams. Once can be a fluke. Three times is not. We still have issues, but it's still pretty cool that the national stage isn't too big for us.

  19. It's like issuing a citation for walking an unshod horse on a cobbled street after dark without a lantern bearer leading the way........Some straight up BS. Just like the dual possession. Looked like the UM player has a leg and a$$ cheek on the ball. Our guy had 2 hands....

  20. I'd move Verduzco out. Frost to coach QB's (still unsure how much play calling he and Lubick split). Move up Bill Busch to ST's coordinator. He can help with our pass D as well. Did good coaching DB's while on staff here and ST's were solid under him. He can also recruit very well.....Easy move. Just a thought.

  21. No way. The kid is a winner, not a doubt in my mind.. He had a game winning drive against MSU. His punt team made it so that it didn't end up being a game winning drive, but with 3 minutes left, he marched his team down the field and took the lead. Players who consistently lead game winning drives do so when they have consistent and high caliber team mates around them. I don't think for a second that he would falter at all if he had an o line that could give him more than 1.5 seconds in a randomly collapsing pocket or if he had tight ends and WR that were automatically where they needed to be on routes consistently. Only when the entire team functions like clockwork can you reliably expect the QB to go fetch a win. AM's biggest issue is that he covers up so well for these things for so much of the game that when the impossible odds finally catch up to him, it falls apart and people stand there and rake him over the coals for it. The fact that we are even in games with the o line that we have and the inconsistent WR's is a testament to his talents. The fact that it breaks down when we are overmatched and opponents finally pin their ears back with nothing to lose is not the sign of choking, its the sign of where we really are as a team. But we will get better. It's just not only Adrian out there responsible for it.

  24. So is Trev going to bring this up to the B1G offices? Or work to get a narrative going about this game? Seems like the only reason Harbaugh said something is because he knew the officiating was s***tacular in his favor and he wanted to get out in front of the eventual proof that the officiating crew had their head up their arse and were fans of Michigan's...literally.

  25. Do y'all remember how much crap Frost took when he mentioned Iowa's clapping? Harbaugh is a clown, but when you win you can get away with it.

  26. Granted Northwestern was BAD, but Yant looked better than any of our other backs and it's not even close. Why only 4 carries Saturday night? Johnson seems to me, a back who can catch a pass out of the backfield once in awhile or you utilize his speed for trick/gimmick plays. If you want to pound the rock against teams line up Yant and give him the carries. Eventually Yant will wear teams down and move the chains. Johnson is not that back and never will be given his size.

  27. I just posted this in the 'What did we learn' thread, but to me what happened in this game is that our defense just got beaten by their TE delay in the second half. And I don't want to be a little b**** and whine about reffing but they also basically got gifted a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter. Blaming Martinez for this loss is just not an intelligent take at all. No team has put up more than 17 points on Michigan this year. And how many of them will put up more than 29 down the back half of the season? I will also say that Frost & Lubick maybe should have opened up the playbook a bit earlier when the game plan went a bit stagnant after the first drive. But holy crap, how awesome was that first counter bubble screen?!?!

  28. was there a replay or did anyone see the penalty on Jurgens? I don't recall them showing it while watching the game on TV. Also 66 for Mich is a holding son of gun. Believe it was him who tackled Daniels and then on one of Mich bigger plays he was riding on the back of one of our defenders.

  31. That was a one week aberration- that's why it's big news. The special teams problems at NU statistically have been a dumpster fire for 4 years- don't take my word for it- Chatlains article documented it. This week they were pretty solid, like last. Maybe force feeding the issue is having a possible effect= something changed to make it better. It isn't luck to be consistently bad for 4 years. It isn't luck to be consistently good at Special teams either. It's a coaching issue- but that doesnt fit your narrative. https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/football/chatelain-how-can-nebraska-improve-its-special-teams-ask-bill-snyder-and-frank-beamer/article_282a413a-218c-11ec-ad78-bf1cc4f2e94a.html

  32. Yant's first carry also only went for 2 yards when he tried to juke 2 defenders instead of putting his head down and pushing the pile for 2 more yards. He did have a nice catch and run which was nullified by penalty on the next play, but Yant's inconsistency is why he didn't play more against Michigan. Rahmir is the better all-around back right now, and NU went with a back who could be used in the run and pass game against Michigan. Hopefully Yant can clean up his mistakes and be more consistent going forward.

  33. It also sucks for us because both Michigan State and Iowa have done the same thing to us in recent years and never gotten called for it.

  34. And something I read, Betts and Manning were not even on the field that last drive...WTH........Whose idea was that? Our two most physical receivers watching..... The above relates directly to our offensive rankings. We put up tons of yards, but have issues making them count. Again, how can we fix this. We have the culture instilled, Frost's guys, experienced QB, solid D, but we still struggle....Which brings me to this point. No experienced RB, young OL, really no depth at receiver....All offensive issues... Why in year 4 is our #1 RB a guy who started out 5th on the depth chart....#2 is a former walk-on(Kudos to both for working their a$$es off)....and the rest are freshman.....How does that happen. Transfer portal, recruit misses.......Same with receiver.....In defense of Frost, the weak link in this whole program is guys on the offensive staff not pulling their weight.......In year 4 it feels like our offensive starters save AM are in year 1 or 2........So how do we improve the experienced depth when year 4 it is still severely lacking.....I think that the D staff has done a good job working guys in.

  35. That’s fine, but do we really need a new D line coach? These kinds of ideas are great on a message board, but are we going to change that chemistry for probably one year then he heads off somewhere else?

  36. I rewatched the game today….as painful as it was. The thought I had was that this team plays like a mid to late 80s team. Very good team. Good talent. Great attitude. Competitive coach. But, when we went against a top 10 team, we were just short. problem is, we play so dang many this year. I love this team. I love the players just like back then. (Even though I was in a college drunken haze). Dang it….they just need to win.

  37. The fantasy ending to our season that is actually a realistic possibility (not likely, just realistic) is: -Georgia drops a game they shouldn't and Iowa moves up to #1 -We beat Minnesota, Purdue, & Wisconsin -There's no stress in the Iowa game of having to win to be bowl eligible so we play b***s out -We beat an 11-0 Iowa by two scores And this isn't really part of the big finale for us, but the cherry on top is Iowa getting blown out by Ohio State in the conference title game.

  38. The one I saw the Penn State guy clearly shouldn't have stood up, and when it was clear he wasn't making it to the sideline his teammates told him to go back down. There's nothing boo-able about that, and while flops definitely happen it's almost always to slow down the pace. Which is not a concern against Iowa.

  40. Illinois is really a crazy-bad outlier at this point. Easily the worst game we've played this year. If we just don't lay an egg there, being 4-3 with three one-score losses to undefeated Top 10 teams, we are a really good team that's played a really tough schedule.
    3 points
  41. And it is close right, if he initially would’ve given him a first down, I wouldn’t have argued it. But it’s the fact that his judgement saw it was short by half a yard and he starts moving it up not once, but twice, and it’s on their sideline. Some people are arguing about this with me on Reddit lol but if you apply this same situation near the goal line, that’s the difference in someone scoring or not. And that’s fixing the game. Every play is reviewed so it’s not like the line judge can’t be helped out if they made a bad call.

  43. It was uncatchable because the WR didn't even know where the ball was and it was thrown out of bounds about 10 yards past where he ran into Jojo. I'm fine with it being called if JoJo had impeded him from going toward the ball. Guys was cutting inside while the ball was outside.

  44. Is he sure he wants any more attention paid to the officiating?... Many in the program have suggested that there is a possible fix and they have been sending tapes for years. Now as fans, we have something tangible for everyone to see. It was done on their sideline as well so no Nebraska coach or player could see.

  46. Also, listening to Adrian's post-game presser, you know he's taking this one harder than most. And I legit hate it for him. We're not in a spot to win the game without him and I imagine it's so tough being in that pile and having guys keep you up and tearing the ball from you.
