  1. The majority of people who got what they wanted with this decision don’t give a rip about accomplishing those things. The states where it is already being banned happen to also be the worst states at providing support for pregnant women.

  2. For no other purpose than the country has a "well-regulated militia." Because there was no standing army when the Constitution was written, so every available live body had to have a gun and be able to defend the newly-founded nation against foreign invasion. Some jackwad with an AR is not "well-regulated." In fact, as the right-wingers progress along this fascist path, they're making sure there are fewer and fewer regulations involved in possessing a gun. It is the actual factual opposite of the language in the 2nd Amendment. People forget the "well-regulated" part because of their authoritarian fetish. People also forget that the Amendments were written in such a different time that we had to literally bake into the Constitution the fact that citizens could not be forced to house the army in their homes. But that's not an issue anymore because we own this swath of the continent 'from sea to shining sea.' So it's unimaginable to most folks that we should have to have constitutional protection from press-ganged housing. The 3rd Amendment is no less important than the 2nd Amendment. But it is no less anachronistic to today's world than the 2nd Amendment. It's probably, after 220-something years, time to update the Constitution to reflect today's real world.

  6. Seeing a lot of complaints about this online, but I actually agree with this decision. With the caveat that I would disagree if the coach punished players who don't participate in post-game prayer, I see no harm to anyone if this coach prays in a public place. It's been happening at Nebraska for decades and there isn't any public info that it's harmed anyone.

  10. This is what drives me nuts about American “media” or just social media in general. The committee says the identity is to be kept private for “real” security concerns for a hearing TOMORROW! And people are racing to be the first to expose them for no other reason than being the first person to correctly guess. Hunans deserve the nonsense we put ourselves through!

  12. We the people of HuskerBoard, in order to form a more perfect forum, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the Blackshirt defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the best damned football team in the land. 1st Amendment - The Right to Freedom of Speech 2nd Amendment - The Right to Keep and Bear a f#&%ing Fullback 3rd Amendment - No Husker Fan shall be forced to house a Hawkeye fan for any reason whatsoever without their consent 4th Amendment - Please delete my browser history upon my death 5th Amendment - If you liked the Riley Era, you shall remain Silent

  14. pro choice doesn't mean you automatically get an abortion. also... if i recall my bible correctly....joseph and mary were jewish. jewish faith says the fetus doesn't have a soul until it is born so abortion isn't murder. so if we would call them pro choice it would fit in with their religion.

  15. The country's not even real anymore. Here Tucker is feigning being enraged by the seizure of Eastman's phone. I guess he's off the cop bandwagon since it's an elite white guy. A black man get his neck kneeled on until he dies and Tucker is fine with that. But what really is weird is the set. "The Stalinist Committee strikes again". Lol.... Who the f#&% eats that bulls#!t up..... nightly??

  16. Totally agree with you all. If a fathers daughter gets raped and hides it for two months out of shame or something, and it took her a month to realize it. Every father would be onboard.

  22. Sounds about right but many women have irregular periods and can miss one without assuming/knowing they are pregnant. I understand that between 6 weeks and 10 or 12 or whenever is sort of a person’s preference. Lots of debate over at time of fertilization, detectable heartbeat, fetus viability. My preference just happens to be giving the mother enough time to make the decision and to have the procedure be safe if that is the route chosen. I feel the 10-12 week timeframe gives them that. Any later and it starts striking me as a bit murdery. I mean my gut feeling is most abortions are done to correct a lack of responsibility but if we can start writing laws for that there might be even better places to start.

  24. Boy, he doesn't know the leader of the Christian movement from 2000 years ago. The Christian faith says there is 'neither male or female, jew or gentile, etc' - that all are one in Christ and are all equal. After 911 we heard people stating that the moderate Muslim leaders need to denounce the radical terrorist who have hijacked their religion. It is now time for moderate Christian leaders in America to denounce these radical "Christian" nationalist terrorists who are hijacking the faith of many in this country and distorting the truth of the Gospel for political power and gain.

  27. I don't like this decision. But, for right now, it is what it is. What I don't think many people who are celebrating this understand is the immense amount of work that now needs done. That's drastically increasing healthcare for women which includes but is not limited to, contraception, prenatal care. Support for single moms such as financial support, day care, drastically improving the adoption system in the US, mental health....etc. I get the feeling that so many on that side are now sitting back and saying....ahhhh.....the work is done. Well...no, it's just starting.

  29. Does anyone actually believe RvW being overturned will prevent abortions or save lives? The wealthy/rich will simply travel to states where it is allowed. The poor that can’t make the trip will opt for risky procedures that are not safe or sterile. Do laws stop illegal drug use? All this does is make it inconvenient at best and dangerous/unsafe at worst. I’d bet the net result is even more deaths.

  30. I’m not moving s#!t. You’re the one that keeps missing what the discussion is about. Of course people know that other rulings have been overturned in the past. Show me where I have questioned that. The issue I’m talking about is the circumstances, timing and justices lying in their hearings. The fact that you keep returning to something obvious that you said prior does not mean that is what’s being discussed.

  31. No, they act like we were explicitly told by these clowns in their sham hearing they wouldn't do what they nonetheless did immediately. There's a reason the public opinion of the court is in the toilet. They're liars issuing unpopular rulings.

  35. I've said for a long time, that we need to be "drill baby drill" as long as we are developing renewable energies as fast as possible. That's the only way I can see we get off of depending on countries like the middle east and Russia for our energy. We need to drill now, because we need the energy. We need to develop renewables, because eventually, we won't have oil. Even if that's many many years down the road, you still need to develop it now. The best case scenario would be that we would develop the renewables long before our oil resources in the ground are used up. If needed at some point in time in the future, the oil would still be there. But, just like so many issues, public opinion thinks it needs to be one or the other.

  36. It appears that was from the 1979 (78 season) Orange Bowl. To this day I hate.... Missouri (you thought I was going to say Barry didn't you) Another "would have , should have, could have" missed NC for Tom. Bama and USC tied for the NC that year. Tom might have had a good chance but Mo. spoiled the party wt their conference ending victory the week after we beat OU. I had just moved to Oklahoma a couple of weeks before we beat OU. It felt soooo good. The next week felt sooooo bad.

  38. I’m just spitballing and I’m sure there is a whole lot wrong with this, and I know it won’t help the current situation. But what’s stopping the govt from drilling and refining oil? I’m aware of how expensive it is, but it appears to be a solid investment looking at oil companies. They already have the land and could operate on a “break even” mentality. Kind of like the Post Office to all the other private delivery services.
