  1. Might as well get it started! The Non-conference games really don't matter much, NU probably has the hardest game when they host OU. Iowa fan will try to convince you that playing powerhouse ISU is the hardest game. I think Duke, Virginia, Cuse and WSU are the other P5 non-conference games. I will work backwards to make it more suspenseful! 7) Northwestern: 3-9 last year might look like a good season compared to this year. They are going to suck. 6) Illinois: I think their season might hinge on Wyoming. They should win that but start off 0-1 with a loss to Wyoming could ruin things 5) Minny: Bad QB, bag WR's 38 year old RB with no knees and no OL 4) Iowa: Lucky last year, that won't happen again. 3) Purdue: Throw out the last half of the season when everything went right for them. Easy cross over games (I think) will help. 2) Wisconsin: No real reason that they could not be 1,2,3,4. But their QB is horrible. 1) Nebraska: Why not? The West is filled with basically the same average to below average teams. If NU is just error free for the most part they should win, they have the most talent in west by far.

  2. I'm not hoping they fail. I'm simply basing my assumption on having: 1. Seen the current RBs play. They're serviceable, but I don't see any making an All-Conference team. Rahmir Johnson may do well in Whipples offense as a pass catcher. 2. Frosts history developing backs during his tenure at Nebraska has been disastrous. 7 runningbacks have transferred. He used his slot receiver as a RB 2 years ago - causing him to transfer - because the situation was so bad. 3. You are aware that Frost has averaged 3.75 wins per season? He's a terrible head coach who hasn't shown the ability to develop high school recruits at any skill position on offense. For the record, I think Nebraska will be a worse team than last season but finish with a better record of 5-7 or 6-6.

  6. I'm with Hilltop. If I would guess now I would have us at 4-5, behind Wisky, Iowa, Purdue and Minny. It will be an interesting season as outside OU, we don't really play a name except Michigan. The season is full of bottom-dwellers of the B1G we always speak down too but yet seem to own us. I think the endurance and stamina will come into play as our errors compound with fatigue from the OL and DL's of the B1G schools and leave us on the losing end in a few games we think we should win.

  7. What I don’t get is how these idiots think it’s “patriotic”. America is great because its system of government. And right now, we should all be pissed at the shape it’s in. The “patriotic” way to fix it is by voting and electing intelligent people, Not by shooting it. These people are about as unpatriotic as you can be…

  9. I'd put us 4th or 5th behind Wis, Iowa, Purdue and/or Minn. Not great but still an improvement over 2021 and a result I could live with.

  10. Here's the thing with charges to Trump. I really believe he should be charged and that there is enough evidence to convict him. However, what people need to realize is that I fully expect, when that happens, there will be violent protests from his cult followers. You must remember, J6 proved that these people are brainwashed by him and will do whatever he says. He said to come to Washington, they did. He said to March to the capital, they did. He put in their heads that they need to "fight like hell" and then told them, through a tweet, that Mike Pence betrayed them. THEN, he finally was convinced to tell them to go home, and only at that point, did they go home. NOW, if he is arrested and is in jail, these people are going to go bat s#!t crazy. MTG and Gaetz and their crew are going to be leading the charge. And.....the possibility of this is NOT a reason to not arrest him. It's just something this country is going to have to deal with.

  11. Well this goes back to my original post: why would you need to be a prick about it? There are tons of things happening in my city that I don't care $5 about. But maybe a few thousand people do care. So if I can deny them that pleasure and get $5 in the process, I'm just an a$$h@!e. Every men's and women's athletic program at UNL is subsidized by the football program. They do not have the crowds or revenue to thrive on their own. This is not a reason to mock them out of existence.

  12. That is the problem...years ago when Pro Lifers started to market that term they were very careful to choose thee phrase they did because think of the alternative..."Pro Death" of babies! YOU MONSTER! But they painted themselves into a corner with the phrase because they did not really mean Pro Life, they mean, "Hey, how about we can only have abortions for the most unthinkable of crimes/situations that pop up and those crimes/situations will be dictated by us, the Pro Lifers, because we are better people than those Pro Deathers" It is like "Defund the Police" which was not at all what they really meant and why most normal people laughed at them. Words have power and consequences and that is what we are seeing here. The term Pro Life is brilliant marketing, it really is, but it backfired on them and now they try to justify their stance with the old "but".

  13. How is that at all confusing if you've followed politics the last 6 years? The GOP is off it's f#&%ing rocker. Trump should have been removed from office and bared from ever running again, but the party hasn't cared about legality or ethics in more than a decade (arguably since Nixon) hence only Romney voted to impeach. The GOP only cares about the ends, not the means of getting there.

  17. I'm not even sure that Thompson is better than the eighth guy on the list, Tanner Morgan. I feel like everyone is under the impression that Casey has very little/nothing to prove and will just stroll in and crush it here. In my opinion he actually has a lot to prove, and if our line plays poorly this season he'll be in the same situation Adrian has been in quite a bit of the time throughout his career here where he'll have to try to move the chains all on his own.

  20. We literally are proving that most Pro lifers are actually pro choicers, we have even had posters post how they have changed their mind because of the language. Think about that, posters have actually changed life long stances because of the language and that is not interesting? My advice, just block/ignore me and/or any others that post about things that you find boring. Or are you just on a chromebook and it takes forever to load up posts? If that is the case, I am on your side.

  21. I won't be at all surprised if NBC pays the $75 million. In fact, I'd be more surprised if they didn't and TBH, at the current B1G and SEC rates broken down per school, I think that is a fair request. If NBC decides it's too much so be it, they can then pay more if they want to get into conference contracts to broadcast college football. Truth is, all this hoopla is doing is adding to the destruction of the real value of the dollar not to mention hurting college sports as a whole. Ugh... would love to go back to the days of split titles and off season discussions of who would have beaten whom... those were the good times. However, I digress... times have changed and the change is only beginning. Better to sit back and enjoy the ride, yes?

  23. Why wasn't Trump, Jr, or Kushner charger in the Muller probe? They all were found to have violated the law in one form or another. Why wasn't Trump removed from office after being impeached? You're not confused, you know how this works and you know the why. It's partisan politics and application of the law by the GOP. There's also the massive and virtually unheard of issue of charging a former or sitting president with a crime.

  28. It would appear as though Trump is going to run for President, with the announcement coming after the midterms. Being a true American patriot - and a firm believer of America First policies - if he loses to DeSantis (however unlikely) - he will throw his full support behind his candidacy and in no way institute a scorched earth policy against him. His desire to be President is in no way a grift to avoid criminal liability, civilian lawsuits, or to use the power of the Presidency to enrich himself or the upstanding Patriots who support him.

  29. Dude, we know you're not a positive minded fan. We get that, truly we do. Still, in lue of the fact that we've not witnessed even a single real game live snap and only have film to go off of your quoted statement about the backs leads me to believe that you are actually hoping they fail. Ugh... more debbie's on here then joan's of late. (referring to debbie downers vs joan of arch, one always doom and gloom, the other always filled with courage and fight)

  30. And, simply put, Thompson is much smaller than Martinez. He's 6'2" and 195 pounds compared to Amart at 6'4" 220ish. Martinez played through several injuries because we ran him like a RB because Frost was unable to develop any out of high school, the run blocking was terrible, and he ran for his life on passing plays because our starting tackles were terrible and treated pass blocking as an optional exercise. If we run Thompson anywhere close to Martinez, we're in trouble. That being said, I think the offense will struggle anyway since I don't forsee any RB stepping up, our QB won't be able to carry the load on the ground, and we'll have to rely on a short passing game which is dubious with our talent and inexperience with a new scheme. We're basically rolling the dice that transfers at the most important skill positions in Whipple's offense - QB and WR - will produce without growing pains.
