  4. I would just like to add for those so stuck on head coaching experience that. The winningest coach in Nebraska football history and arguably one of the best head coaches of all time had..... zero years of HC experience when hired. ZERO. not even at a lower level. Jimmy Johnson had a total of 5 yrs HC exp at Oklahoma st before Miami only about 8 yrs of coaching experience all together. Sometimes people just make stuff happen. What you did at one place doesn't guarantee you can do it somewhere else. If Mickey were to win 5 games that proves he can win 5 games... at Nebraska. Not bad for taking over a dumpster fire

  8. Frost was a great QB. Won the Natty. And I think most of us appreciate that fact. His short NFL career led to a career in coaching. And the creds seemed right. His associations to a bunch of great coaches, the job he did at UCF and his Husker connection appeared to all line up for a home run hire for us. And most us believed in the guy from day one. Then the seasons happened. The losses happened. And the improved play never happened. Scott will always be a great and former Husker player. He won't be remembered for coaching because all the memories are bad ones. Magic Johnson was a great player for the Lakers. No one talks about his coaching with the team because he was awful. Davison, like most of us, believed in Frost. He helped get Frost here. And he probably got a job title he didn't really deserve because of it. When Frost failed, I don't think anyone felt worse about advocating for his hiring than did Davison. So it didn't work and Matt left. Not shocked. Don't understand why anyone would hold hatred toward Scott or Matt. Hey, it didn't work. We're moving on now. Let this be a lesson to us. Reaching backwards to the past in order to move the program forward is probably a bad idea. Sooooo, before we hire Mickey, we better be sure. Extra Sure. That he has a plan. That he has coaches to hire for key spots. That this has a very good chance of succeeding in 2023, 2024 and beyond. Because otherwise, we will have been guilty of reaching into the past to fix the future. And then people will hate Mickey too.

  13. Admo is right ...Casey is a better quarterback and it's not close. Both have lost games they should have won and if given the choice with the game on the line I'll roll with Casey over the turnover prone and soft Adrian.

  14. But it's the "right" who is offended by the thought of non-binary sex. They are then offensive to people who just want to live life they way they want and not bother anyone and/or want the world to be a more welcoming place. (I dare say the left actually wants a "Christian" world in practice rather than proclamation.) I'm not surprised that the "left" lashes out. They aren't quite the pushovers sissies that the "right" assumes they are. They then struggle with the pushback and claim the left is "triggered". When it all started with some conservative actually being the one that was "triggered". I'm just tired of it...

  15. Hopefully we want Campbell and the search firm convinces Trev otherwise for a much better option! Lol I wouldn’t depend on much of what’s said on the internet.

  19. Dabo Swinney Mario Cristobal Bill O'Brien Jimbo Fisher Steve Sarkisian Most of the successful head coaches were assistants at successful schools (Mickey - LSU) before jumping into head coaching gigs. It helps to have that experience, but Mickey is already doing really good things that are helping this team win games that they would have lost previously. So I'm excited to see if he can continue to improve this team that he took over when it was a complete and utter disaster

  21. I would guess there is a guy or two on staff that Trev may strongly suggest needs to be considered for retention. That’s a much different thing than making it a litmus test. Any head coach we should be considering hiring should also be allowed unequivocal control of his staff. Suggesting that the AD should somehow circumvent that is a very good way to foster competing factions and/or prevent the hiring of the best possible people. No head coach that is good enough should be told who will be on his staff. Best we can hope for is that he recognizes the value in keeping Mickey or Busch or whoever around.

  25. God forbid genetic scientists make "discoveries" and people would like to see others be able to live lives how they wish as long as they aren't harming others. If dimwits get their feelings hurt because science advances and the world isn't like Gramps told them, so be it. I get the "political" reasoning. A lot of Americans are dumb, selfish, and emotionally immature. Politicians like Trump are successful because they "make sense" to a large section of the population. I can understand the temptation for people running for office to "dumb things down". But what good does that actually do any of us?

  34. Suh >>>>>>>>> Ruud. Suh is wasaaaaay better than Ruud. One was an all time historic college defender with a long all-pro NFL career and a household name to football fans with his name forever immortalized in the stadium. And the other was nowhere close. So there’s that.

  35. man, I was at that game and we woulda beat them 56–10. Such juice, we were on the brink of berserk. Then everyone just trickled out. Shot the wad, let down, curse or whatever. It was real. W a warmup game v Akron before CO might of cut down on the mistakes that lost us that CO game. Maybe ends the same over 4 yrs but that lost game will always haunt/be the ghost of a regime that never gained traction and as it tuned out, fools gold.

  37. It is the Big Ten West...yes there are 3 wins left. They can win out except for Michigan. A few weeks ago people thought Minny was amazing and we found out when PJ doesn't have his 10th year RB that he is trying to murder that they suck. PU has a QB that is a fragile as most of the posters in game day prayer thread. Wisconsin can't find the endzone Illinois just lost their QB Iowa can't beat SDSU

  38. Aight, I may be the only one that feels this way, so if I'm out of line, feel free to call me out. Frost didn't work for various reason, some maybe most of which, seem to be his own doing. That said, I'm starting to get the vibe that the Huskers of the late 80's early 90's have taken the reigns are are moving out any of the Husker greats that came after them. Frost replaced with Joseph-ish, now Davison replaced by Benning etc. I get the vibe that the guys "who reached the pinnacle," '93, '94, '95 look down on those who came after and weren't able to sustain. - Maybe its just the situation with Frost, but Davison was on board long before. Anyways, just the vibe I'm getting, maybe its just the way the articles announcing such changes are written.
