  1. Well....there's photographic evidence that Urban likes grinding.

  2. I'm saying that at this juncture in American history, with all evidence of hypocrisy from both sides weighed, Donald Trump continues to lie and discredit the entire American electoral system to his personal benefit. Having watched the fallout from the 2020 election, Republicans at every level of government have chosen to follow Trump's template for refusing election results they don't like, and have re-engineered state protocols in order to thwart the will of the electorate. Having been assured by you that the cognitive challenged likes of Marjorie Taylor-Greene do not represent the true values of the GOP, we see them being championed and featured at fundraisers, uttering some of the stupidest and most hateful s#!t imaginable. Herschel Walker isn't an outlier. He joins a team of incredibly dis-informed flame throwers. Ron DeSantis is simply a prick, who will be battling Donald Trump to capture the ugliest side of America. So what do you say? Is this your party? Or does it all go away if you can find a Democrat who kicked a puppy?

  7. Realistically looking at the landscape, I think its the best match for both parties: He's well respected in the coaching ranks. Both saban and belichik were gunning for his services, this has to mean something to someone like Trev Guys known as a grinder He's meticulous AF when it comes to running a progrum. He's polishing his already impressive track run at PSU under saban. His network and who he's crossed paths with puts him above 95% of the other candidates mentioned. I think Trev is going to key in on this for staff build out purposes. Today's game u need the HC to be the CEO and have legit staff around u to win consistently. When comparing what BOB brings to the table on this vs other candidates, I'm hard pressed to find a candidate that would surpass the potential. Knows the big10 He knows the NFL and can sell his time at PSU along with NFL to recruits He's realistic- he's gonna be a HC again. He's not a HC right now. He doesnt strike me as someone who is gonna do the OC path for years on end. I think the label of him wanting an NFL job is not really based in anything. If you do some research, him leaving psu had way more to do with a s#!tty relationship with the AD then it did on him leaving on his own. Trev doesn't can frosty this early if he doesnt intend on making a hire immediately following the reg season wrapping. This makes getting a coach at a HC level already a lot tougher As much as i'd be pumped about Rhule, i dont see him coming here. I think him taking a year off and waiting for another job is much more likely. Campbell is losing steam nor does it seem like he wants to come here Arranda isnt leaving Baylor to come here Leipold probably the most likely but I'd argue if you cover the name on the resume I think I'd prefer BOB Wisconsin has a list of guys before they'd go after O'b... perhaps the only school i could see him ranking ahead of us is the Auburn job. CP isnt leaving the northwest, Lane isnt realistic, we wont poach bielema from illinois, Luke F isnt leaving cinci for here, wittingham is a utah guy thru and thru, Gary patterson might be a solid hire but his ending at TCU didnt seem to be the prettiest exit. Trev knows he needs to get this right. With B'OB i think u get the guy with the highest floor (worst case scenario) yet still runway for a high ceiling. All of the other realistic candidates to me, have a lower floor and i dont see someone with a crazy higher potential unless its an Urban. I get it, its not the sexiest name or face (lol) out there but this progrum needs a whole new foundation, its not a plug n play job. Trev needs a pro that can do damage control.

  9. From another board: Nebraska should embrace its roots and go back to the Wing-T Option that they won 3 national titles with in the 90s...they should hire Army's Jeff Monken!! I don't think people truly realize the outstanding job Monken has done at Army. I mean they won 9, 10 and 11 games in consecutive seasons. He beats Navy!! He almost knocked off both Ohio State and Oklahoma in back to back seasons. Give this guy the resources that Nebraska has!! There has never been a time like right now, where the option can make a strong comeback. Nobody runs it and therefore, nobody knows how to defend it. Its very hard to prepare for in just one week. Again...go back to what made Nebraska football...Nebraska!! "Wing-T Option"

  11. No link needed, just living in reality. First, Sanders just doesn't have the resume, very unlikely Trev will think he's qualfied. Dude has two seasons coaching in FCS, and we're talking the SWAC here, not even like he coaches in the Missouri Valley against the better FCS teams. Second, hiring Sanders would piss-off WAY too many people with money and power. Why did Frost get another season when it was obvious Trev didn't really believe in the move? Because folks with stroke wanted to give Frost another season. The folks that keep the program flush are more important than ever in the NIL era and Trev needs a hire that will make a lot of them happy so the money keeps flowing. Third, it would be Trev's career on the line, if he makes this risky hire and it doesn't work-out he will not get to make another one. There's too much going against the move for it to happen.

  12. First of all, you replied to your own quote again. You need to be more careful about switching between your sock accounts. Secondly, you are talking about "substantial evidence" and "simple assault," but that would all require the kicker to pursue it as a crime. The kicker did file a lawsuit for hostile work environment, by the way, but I don't know what came of it or if it would even be successful. But the point of the story is that UM is a scumbag, which certainly has been substantiated. If I recall, the kicking incident was also accompanied by some verbal abuse and threats as well. Thirdly, even though I know that winning forgives many ills, I am still in the camp that says character matters. College football players, even at a big business program like Nebraska, are all kids, most of whom will not get to the NFL and all of whom are still trying to learn about life. Molding young athletes into responsible men is still an important job of a coach in my mind.

  15. I don’t think it’s overly productive to argue what constitutes a “big name.” It’s a subjective qualifier. O’Brien and Aranda are both well known and well respected names in the CFB industry. O’Brien would likely be considered a very successful hire by a majority or very large portion of the CFB world. Anecdotally scouring message boards to see which potential Nebraska HC candidate is talked about more than the other doesn’t prove anything valuable. Might as well tell us what’s being said down at the nearest bar.

  17. This is extremely inaccurate about O'Brien and Aranda. You are just pushing some agenda. They are widely considered big names Nationally. Google it, watch interviews, listen to coaches in the profession. If you want to play the fan base game with O'Brien go to the LSU message boards who would rather have Aranda than Brian Kelly. Pick your poison.

  19. Who do you guys consider to be Big Names now? I also put the % I think they would come here if offered based on a number I pulled from the air - but mainly just by reading all of this craziness Big Name Hires URB - but unrealistic 0% Chris Peterson - but unrealistic 0% Matt Rhule 10% (I think he sits a year) Lane Kiffin 30% Dave Aranda 40% Prime Time 1% Bill O'Brien (Big name based on his whole body of work) - very realistic 80% Medium Name Hires Chadwell 65% Leipold 75% Klieman 30% Monken 35% Campbell 30% fading fast I think my personal ranking at this point (leaving out URB, CP, Prime Time as totally not going to happen) Kiffin - Name recognition, recruiter Despite his current success, he sounds ready for a change - where he can get more support. Rhule - a lot of upside - great experience, name recognition but may be unrealistic for this year of the coaching carosal O'Brien - the maturity & all well rounded experience on the college and pro levels can't be ignored Chadwell - which would signal we are going to differentiate ourselves. Long term success as college coach Leipold - program developer - places program on a stable, consistent base of performance Nonken - differentiation Aranda - still young in HC experience but very good defensive mind Klienman - knows our Midwest area and can secure the 500 mile radius Campbell - mostly MEH at this point

  20. polls show about 60% of republicans believe Trump won the election. tere are about 2 dozen republicans running who have said they won't accept the results if they lose. it hasn't happened yet....but it sure as hell seems like the republican party is really into election denials.

  22. Alabama fans are spoiled rotten. Look how we are after our success in the 90s, fricken 30 years ago. We still think we are elite. Bama fans just need something to complain about. Bob would be a fine choice. If we don’t get him, someone else will, and I bet he is successful there. Not saying he’s my first choice, but I’m definitely not going to go based on bama fans, they live in a different reality.

  26. I kinda get you as I normally don't venture into people's private lives. But there's still a lingering perception that a college football coach is a mentor to young men, and that character and dare I say "family" is part of building team unity. So the likelihood that a coach is humiliating his wife and kids by trying to bang coeds in public does play into it. These guys are often the highest paid state employee and the face of a University, so scrutiny comes with the job more than it would with a regional sales manager. More to the point: Urban Meyer did not fly back with his team after Jacksonville lost the game, choosing instead to go to a local bar and have coeds grind on him. Even ignoring the coed grinding, nobody in pro football can remember the coach not flying back with his team.

  29. Maybe there needs to be a changing at the guard for things like this. Ill be honest, im not big into any rap past 2000 i dont like things that are loud and brash. But if someone like coach prime was teaching my kids id sure listen, because in the end hes raising good people and to me that is what counts. I said before win at all costs with Urban and i do stand by that, but if we are going to denounce this man because of his flash and character, that i dont like.

  32. If you think 1 conference title in 18 years is doing GREAT, then we clearly have two very different definitions of GREAT and elite. T Boon Pickens pumped a ton of money into that place. They have facilities, resources etc. and they’re near the biggest recruiting hotbed in the country. No offense, but I don’t think I’m the one not seeing reality here.

  37. I just think now is the time for this program to make an elite hire. This is a point in time where the job is very attractive due to all the buzz around the new Big 10 media rights, NIL being introduced, and the facility upgrades. The program gave up an extra $7.5 million to let Frost go two weeks earlier. Money is obviously not an object for NU. If they hire a Matt Campbell or Bill O'Brien, Trev is telling the fans that NU is not serious about being elite again. Hiring someone like Urban would be NU telling the fans that they are serious about being elite. Sometimes when it comes to winning, certain incidents have to be ignored.

  41. You are off on your assessment of Kiffin. He left Tennessee after one year fine if you want to complain about that. He went to USC when they had actual sanctions and won 10 games and the division. As much as people talk about Rhule going into sanctions the ones Kiffin faced at USC were 100x worse. Then served as an OC on a championship team. Then took over and FAU team that had won 3 games for 3 straight years and won 11 games 2 out of the three years he was there. Then took over yet another team ravaged by sanctions who had won 6 games in a season once in the last 4 years and has them as a legit contender in year 3.
