  1. Looks like Ajay Allen is returning, which is HUGE.

  2. I think he's simultaneously in position that he's a mid-late round pick but probably wouldn't improve his draft stock with another year here. He's shown what he can do. He's given a lot to Nebraska and, frankly, cared more about the Program than his head coach. He's the only player that played with passion most of the time.

  3. Fickell has allowed 17 points as the HC at Wiscy. Rhule has allowed 0 at NU.

  4. If this was about a choice between living on the streets in Texas or a shelter in the Northeast, you'd have a point. It's not and you don't. Your "zingers' are embarrassing, too.

  6. Or maybe— the rumors are straight BS? I can’t think of a reason why you would process a walk-on & Nelson who are key guys when you already have a paper thin DL. They just don’t make any sense when you use logic.

  7. Shelters were ready and people were expecting them because Washington D.C. and other northern libtard cities actually have been accepting the duty of housing and processing immigrants from the Southern border. While several busloads went to their proper destination in coordination with aid workers waiting to assist on a frigid cold Christmas eve, three of the busses were mysteriously diverted to the Vice-Presidential residence and families were dumped on the street. When the D.C. NGO's got wind of what was happening, they rushed over to the Naval Observatory and took the immigrants to the proper shelter. Happy ending. Except for the part where the prick you're defending pulled a total anti-Christ move on Christmas.

  10. Uglier than the last 5 years? As Decked pointed out, it makes little sense that guys like Nelson or Feist were forced out. Guessing they left of their own volition. Not much can be done about that, and I’m not sure anything needs to be done about it, ugly or not. The quicker this roster gets flipped, the quicker we may start seeing better results even if it’s not immediate.

  11. I couldn’t care less. If he comes here to coach, all I care about is how he does doing that.

  12. I am with you. I have an itch that guys like Feist, and even Nelson (that'll get virtual tomatoes thrown at me), are being nudged out the door by the new staff to free up scholarships or playing time (yes I know Feist is a walk on). If you get over your Nebraska kid fixation, we do in fact need better to compete in the Big Ten. Nelson's all conference selection was more of a nod to his career effort amidst a dumpster fire than actually being that quality. He isn't getting drafted, but I wish him well in life.

  13. Sure I’ll miss some of these guys and I think some of them could still contribute but, based on these past years results, I don’t see how a lot of turnover is not a good thing. I’m hard pressed to name anyone we don’t have a very good chance to improve upon. Might be a few rough spots for one year but a big reset would seem to be warranted.

  15. I think he’ll get drafted as he was a Big 10 second teamer. Not sure if anyone knows but I imagine first and second team all conference guys I think are pretty well drafted. Not sure why peeps saying he wouldn’t benefit from another year as I think his stock would rise but it’s not 100% a certainty as anything can happen. If the team improves he’d certainly benefit but I understand he’s in a good enough spot right now and has to consider a lot. Can’t blame him for striking while his iron is somewhat hot. I’d easily draft him over Mathis.

  16. Spot on. They simultaneously use religion as a pretext to push agendas they want - like banning gay marriage or their moronic judges allowing Hobby Lobby to ban their health insurance from proving contraceptives - when religion warrants it BUT calling out the use of human beings as political pawns going against religious teachings goes to far. It's pathetic, but pathetic is what Republicans are. It's his go to shtick when he can't defend the indefensible. He'll still vote for the indefensible though.

  18. The sad reality is this. Every guy leaving was never part of a winning season. Never made it to a bowl game and was part of the worst 5 year span in Husker history. I think that some of our optics are skewed by having some of the guys mentioned as a "bright spot on a very dark stage. Nelson specifically played his a$$ off. All motor. All the time. But he was not a game changer. In reality, if he was, we don't go 5-22 in one score games. I liken this to Westerkamp. One of our better receivers in the past 15 years and he didn't even get a look from the NFL. He looked very good, based upon how he looked at NU. He simply didn't measure up when compared with the metrics of other receivers. Hopefully I am wrong and some of the guys declaring will succeed. I am in the minority probably on this view, but echoing Deion to the guys at Colorado. To paraphrase, y'all haven't been relevant in almost 2 decades. That losing has been accepted. Y'all were 1-11. I'm bringing in my guys.....It was cold, heartless, ruthless, but ultimately true. I am sure Rhule is bringing in/trying to keep the guys who fit his scheme. I'd guess there would be honest discussion with some guys who could be 6 year seniors. Not going to flip the roster and the culture by keeping everyone. I'm sure as much as he loved NU it was a very hard decision. Best of luck to him and the others as they move on. Fire away. Boom. Glad to see him staying!

  19. You can build the wall 50 feet high, you could make the wall three layers deep, you could bury it 30 feet underground and you could make a moat with alligators and those desperate and opportunistic enough will still find ways in. Nobody is opposed to a sensible and diligent physical boundary...it's the primary focus on the physical barricade while simultaneously kicking the can down the road in regards to handling motivations/opportunities that continues to exacerbate the broken cycle of US immigration. Neither party is presenting smart and holistic solutions to this, and both have plenty of guilt in terms of weaponizing the issue and using it to score cheap political points. It's weird and very lazy when people who clearly identify with one of the sides to spend their time pointing at the ways the other side isn't fixing anything while theirs is also not fixing anything.

  21. It's not an honest conversation. This is probably the worst (or just dumbest) gotcha type statement I've ever seen. The party that runs on the principle that this is a Christian nation, god and country, gays shouldn't marry because the Bible says so, abortion and family planning aren't god's will, and on, and on, and on. Please...

  22. Really ugly was the whole Frost era. Husker nation should file a class action lawsuit against him for appearing like he didn't even give a s#!t. Spent more time being drunk, stupid and whoring around. Hell, if we would have had someone who gave a crap, we would have been to a bowl game. Heck, a trained monkey could have done a better job.

  23. I didn’t say it, you did. Not trying hard at all, I was just trying to figure out what you meant by this. So, what’s “the fun thing”?

  27. They don't know the new staff...there are a ton of new players that they don't know yet. I am sure CFB is way more fun when you are playing with some friends. Feist has an insurance gig lined up...

  28. This take is fine and all if there’s actual depth or young guys with promise behind them. Kind of problematic tho when that doesn’t exist and these 2 played a bunch because the cupboard is bare (the actual case). Tuioti did a horrendous job building the d line room and unless we really hit on some transfers, are gonna see the s#!t impact for at least another year

  29. Could have sworn you said something somewhere about Democrat unwillingness to have a proper functioning border. The infamous wall has never submitted to a cost/benefit analysis, where by any business or policy metric it would likely fail miserably.

  31. Ouch. I wasn't as surprised by Garrett but I actually thought Feist would play another year. Gonna need some bodies on the DL or it's going to be a long season.

  33. I gotta think someone like Nelson does a bit of outreach to the draft analytics and coaching community to get a rough estimate of his draftability before making this announcement. If you even get some non-binding Priority Undrafted endorsements it would tempting to earn NFL practice squad coin next year rather than risk injury, demotion, or a lower profile on a better defense. Prefer he'd stay another year and think Nelson would be well-served on a better team with better coaching, but don't think there's much to read into this. Honest question: for guys on this fringe, would a modest NIL package make the decision to stay easier, and wouldn't a Garrett Nelson get some local NIL love?

  34. Well the only way the Republican tent and voter base remains this large is because a clear majority of Republicans will roll their eyes and vote for the fraudsters simply as a means of maintaining power. Many sincerely believe deception and cheating is justified to prevent the greater danger of a socialist takeover. I could kinda sorta respect that if there was a populist fraud leading a mass of lemmings off a cliff, but the irony is that this describes Donald Trump moreso than any Marxist strawman.

  36. Okie St was really depleted down to third string QB and other key guys out. Wisconsin has two RBs they could ride the whole game. Sort of a boring game in what could have been a good one if teams were both full strength.

  37. Ehhh…when people can’t understand which is more “Christian like” between living on the streets in a Texas city or in a shelter in the NorthEast, that’s pretty embarrassing. It’s just virtue signaling at its finest and then to pretend the conversation isn’t honest Is just
